Chapter 661 Divine Essence Crystal

Name:Undying Warlord Author:HideousGrain
"Ready?" Dilan asked, trying to ignore that Ariel Silvertale had just thrown aside both of her fellow Lesser God friends…or were they her subordinates?

"Yeah, let's go…to the flying island…" Ariel said, not paying any attention to where Tenur ended up. He might as well have fallen into an active volcano but the Princess of Haven would still not care!

"I can show you the regions with the densest mana and essence while asking questions. That will make things easier for your people and for me as well."

Dilan just agreed to that and they went on their way back to the flying island, which would take a while. They were not exactly close to the center of the Sun God's territory anymore.

'If I knew that we wouldn't fight with our life on the line, I wouldn't have gone so far away from the flying island…'

However, thinking about the huge light longsword, which Archangel Ilia had manifested above the flying island, Dilan felt that it had been a good decision to move further away.

He had already expected that he wouldn't end up fighting the three Lesser Gods until the very end, but he still had to make sure that nothing would go wrong.

Safety was the highest priority when it came to others…as for Dilan, he could die a few times if needed.

"By the way, where is Ilia? You threw her aside, but she has yet to come back… Should we wait for her?" Dilan wondered but Ariel didn't really seem that bothered about the messing delinquent.

"Just ignore her."

"...What about Tenur?"

"Ignore him as well!"

Dilan was not yet sure how to behave around Ariel Silvertale yet because he felt that the Princess of Haven was a lot different in comparison to how active she had been in the Divinity Messenger before the Fourth Awakening.

She had even used emoticons, though not often. However, the only thing he could see right now was a poker face that covered Ariel Silvertale's true emotions.

"I know that you're supposed to ask questions, but there is something I'm curious about," Dilan asked not only to disperse the awkward silence but also to quench his thirst for the truth.

"I am currently thinking about the questions I want to ask you," Ariel Silvertale blocked him off unexpectedly.

"...Okay."

"That means you can ask if you're curious about something."

"...Say that then"

"..."

Dilan cleared his throat trying to hide the smile that blossomed on his face. He tried not to look in the direction of the Princess of Haven because he was pretty sure that she would throw him somewhere dangerous…probably around half the continent the moment he was to stare at her face right now.

Nonetheless, he got a glimpse of her crumbling poker face.

'Cute, haha!' Dilan thought before he started to frown…what the hell was he thinking about?!

He shook his head and focused on his question.

"Either way, I just wanted to ask you, why are you on Milarn, accepting the Primordial Ascension's system after telling me to abandon the system? I am pretty sure that you had your reasoning on that day, but I want to know if I misunderstood your intention, or if you were just envious of me," Dilan said, revealing his honest thoughts. He was pretty sure that Ariel Silvertale was

After thinking about it for a moment, he chose to add something, "I can tell that you're very prideful and that you might feel like killing me for questioning whether you're envious or not, but that's something I'm curious about…I apologize if my question bothers you too much."

Dilan glanced to his right and he noticed almost immediately a change in Ariel's expression and presence. He was not sure if he should consider this sudden change as her attempt to hide her guilt, or if it was something different.

Thus, he stopped himself from saying more. The only thing he did was to properly look at Ariel's face, precisely her eyes that looked far into the distance.

There was still some time left before they would reach the flying island. Their current flying speed was not exactly fast.

"Because you are in possession of the Divine Occupation, you possess a unique type of Essence Crystals. You can just call it Divine Essence Crystal. This crystal is larger than ordinary Essence crystals and it allows you to walk down a path that only a few Ascenders in the known Universe can walk down. Even if you include Originals, who are in possession of a Mana Core, your path is bound to be different from anyone…because of the Divine Essence crystal you have.

However, if you keep using the system's guidance, you will inevitably waste your Divine Essence Crystal's potential because you will walk down the same path we're walking down… That's why I told you to abandon the system. You shouldn't follow te easy path just because the system said that it is the correct path for you to walk down. There is always more than one path…for those with talent…

We're different…you and me…"

Ariel's sounded oppressive as if she was having a hard time speaking. She sighed deeply and looked to the right to avoid Dilan's gaze.

He noticed that and nodded his head in silence.

A few minutes passed before he finally said something

"So I misunderstood you…alright…"

However, Ariel shook his head.

"Not really…you didn't really misunderstand me. I was truly envious of you…of your talent, or precisely the talent you've been granted from the Primordial Ascension's system. There might only be one Divine Occupation every generation, but it's rare that one actually emerges from the Primordial Ascension. You probably don't even know how you met the requirements for the Divine Occupation to unveil itself but it was definitely not just luck…yet, I was so jealous and even cursed you in my mind more often than you can imagine….

However, I never intended to harm you! The system was truly the wrong path for you if you didn't want to waste the dormant power of your Divine Essence Crystal…I might have been envious and cursed you in my mind but I realized that you were always giving your best when we've been messaging…

"I see…that's fine then," Dilan said quite nonchalantly. He shrugged his shoulders and accepted Ariel Silvertale's answer.

He was actually quite glad about her honesty. The pain in her voice was genuine and so was the guilt. It was not hard for Dilan to understand her train of thought because he knew that her words were correct.

The system's path was not the right path for his Essence Crystal. This was another reason for him to hide most of the system's functions!

Ariel looked up in astonishment and she turned to Dilan, just to see that the young Ascender smiled lightly in her direction.

"Looks like Angels are not that different from humans, everyone can feel jealous…there is nothing bad about that!"

*Thumb*

Dilan just kept smiling at her, he didn't do anything else.

However, Ariel's eyes widened slightly, her hair stood up to its end and her hand reached out to the left side of her chest.

*Thumb* *Thumb*

'What is going on?'
