Chapter 584 10,000

Name:Undying Warlord Author:HideousGrain
"Wait, wait, wait…Kathrine…you're really Siegfried's teacher? That poor boy…" Dilan blurted out, his gaze subconsciously moving to Siegfried.

His nephew was currently locked in a headlock by Kathrine, the Lightning Swordsman of the Undying Group.

That was right, they didn't even change the name of their group even after many people had left to join other groups and others had joined their group, filling the spots of those who had left them.

"What are you suggesting here…you bully?! I'm a good teacher…right??" Kathrine shouted out, offended while putting more pressure on the headlock.

Siegfried was suffering but nobody seemed to pay any attention to the actual bullying that happened right in front of everyone, except Dilan.

He pitied his nephew a little, which was why he released a small air bullet at Kathrine's shoulder. The impact was barely enough to push her shoulder back and astonish Kathrine about the sudden attack.

Distracted, Siegfried was able to escape his master's bullying.

Siegfried rushed over to Dilan, where he felt safe and sound, oddly enough.

"My dear disciple…so that's how it is?1 You're going to abandon me because your lovely Uncle returned? I should really talk with your mother about your behavior!!" Kathrine's fists were crackling with lightning currents and her hair which had turned purple over the course of 27 years began to gleam lightly as she took a step forward.

She was ready to torture Siegfried a little bit more, just for her to realize that Dilan had taken a step forward. He closed in the distance toward her and ended up lifting his right hand at the head of her forehead without her realizing it.

Snap. Dilan flicked Kathrine's forehead lightly in an attempt to calm her.

"Calm down a little. He just survived a losing battle, and he just met the Uncle that was supposed to be dead, or whatever you guys told him about me…" Dilan said lightly before he grasped Kathrine's shoulder.

"Instead of bullying Siegfried, how about you guys tell me what the hell happened in the last 27 years? I expected to see a totally devastated continent overflowing with blood, corpses, and fighting monsters at every corner of Camsun, but there was nothing, except the battlefield here."

It was only obvious that Dilan didn't know what was happening in Milarn. He had been in a place that was actually not even anchored to their Universe, after all!

There were many things he had to find out about Milarn, but the most important was that he would finally get to know what happened to his family and beloved ones.

Everyone was alive but they seemed tired, very tired!

'Rory and Yvonne seem to be the strongest forces…just like it had been in the past…'

Both were at the fifth Tier, which was the same Tier Kathrine, Victoria, Williams, and even Sven had attained during the last 27 years. That was an amazing feat, especially since the advancement mission for the fourth Tier was extremely difficult.

It was not easy to become a fourth Tier Ascender, but it was even more difficult to advance to the fifth Tier and become a Demi God. Yet, the people he held dearly achieved exactly that.

This was something Dilan was very happy about. He was very proud of their achievements, yet, it looked like becoming Demi Gods had been the bare minimum to survive for the last 27 years.

Kathrine calmed down when Dilan held her tightly She looked at him and totally forgot what she was about to do. A faint smile appeared on her face and she nodded her head.

"Should I tell you now, or when we return?" She asked, her voice feminine and easy to approach…totally different from her earlier attitude.

Siegfried's jaw dropped to the ground when he saw his master like that. He was speechless for quite a while, only to walk over to Uncle Sven.

"Does he have a Charm ability, or something like that?"

Sven laughed lightly and he put his arm around Siegfried's shoulder.

"I would be very happy if I could explain what the hell Dilan is doing, but I have literally no idea. He has this weird effect on people…it's hard to describe… but if I were to have to describe it, I would probably say that you can feel reassured when being around Dilan…"

"Reassured, why that?" Siegfried asked, despite knowing exactly what Uncle Sven meant. A single glance at Dilan was enough to make him feel safe, as if there was nothing in the world to be afraid of.

"With Dilan around, you can be certain of your victory, no matter what happens, because he never lost! He is our beacon of hope and has always been!"

Sven didn't speak loud but Dilan and the others were still able to hear everything he said.

'Beacon of hope? What bullshit is that? I'm just a little bit stronger and hard to kill…' Dilan thought to himself, not saying anything out loud.

However, the four women began to giggle and look at Dilan. Their eyes were drawn to him, whether that was because he hadn't been with them for the last 27 years, or because the changes they felt about him drew their gaze onto him.

"You just finished the Divine difficulty advancement mission, didn't you?" Williams asked all of a sudden, his gaze filled with various incomprehensible emotions.

Dilan's head moved over to Williams. Williams was probably the person who had changed the most. One of his eyes was missing, covered by a mask that was also a treasure from the system.

He was also a Demi God but Dilan could hardly gauge Williams' true combat prowess. His expression was also hard to read.

"I came back less than two hours ago," Dilan said before he sighed deeply, "I took a little bit too long, didn't I?"

Looking at Williams' expression made Dilan feel the worst. It had never been necessary for him to spend such a long time in the City of Trials. If he had hurried, it would have taken less than 300 years to finish everything.

However, this would have given him the lowest possible score and no benefits at all…but even then, he would have returned to Milarn in less than a year.

Dilan had no idea how big of a change that would have made for everyone…and he would never be able to find it out.

It was his decision to stay in the City of Trials for 10,000 years to be prepared for the Veilures and everything that may or may not happen in the distant future.

"Could you have returned earlier?" Williams asked the question he just thought about. It was as if he could read Dilan's mind and it made the returnee uncomfortable.

Williams seemed most distant to Dilan just now, which was something Williams made quite obvious.

Everyone looked at their friend with complex expressions, but it was not as if they didn't want to hear the answer as well. Some advancement missions were created in a way that allowed one to return faster if one desired to finish quickly.

That's why nobody could really say that they were not curious whether Dilan could have returned faster or not.

"Around 27 years passed in Milarn, right?" Dilan asked in return, not answering Williams' questions.

Williams nodded his head and a slightly pained expression appeared on Dilan's face.

"So why the hell are you asking me such a shitty question after I worked my ass off for 10,000 years?!?"
