What happened in the bathroom last night couldn’t get out of my head, and I didn’t get a wink of sleep last night

My head wouldn’t forget Yuki in her underwear, burning red as she wiped my back. It also didn’t help that she slept in the room next to mine. These things set my heart on a stampede.

It was yesterday I truly understood she wasn’t lying about repaying me, and that she would serve me. The dishes were cleaned up, and the bathtub was washed clean after we finished bathing.

This morning it also happened. Yuki woke me up to a ready breakfast and lunchbox. The clothes I wore yesterday had been also washed, carefully folded, and the garbage piles that sat in the kitchen yesterday were also gone.

The way Yuki took care of me while also taking care of herself impressed me. I was elated to go with her to school, shoulder-to-shoulder.

She told me she’d also teach me what I couldn’t understand in class. During recess, she would sit beside me and we’d eat our homemade lunches almost glued to each other. Furthermore, when school would end, we’d walk home together.

We then walked to school, shoulders almost scraping. Yuki in her school uniform, just walking beside me, was more dazzling than even the rising sun.

“This feels like a dream… I’m not just talking about reuniting with you, but also living with you, Yuki.”

“It’s the same with me. It’s like I could wake up at any moment from being with you, Haru-kun,”

She grinned warmly as she set my heart ablaze with her zeal.

“Please keep getting along with me at school. If you get any questions, feel free to ask me. I’ll answer any subjects, or anything really.”

“Sure thing. It’s always been the same, even in elementary school. I’ve always been bad at studying, so in spite of trying hard for three years, I barely passed to this school.”

As we walked, we reached the tree-lined avenue that extended to the school gate, cherry blossoms flourishing beautifully around us.

The school’s always been noisy in the morning. Beyond the gate, seniors gathered to recruit freshmen into their clubs, as they curiously approached, deciding whether or not they’d join.

I stood still at that sight. Starting high school honestly terrified me, and even yesterday, I was nervous to even set foot onto the other side of the gate. The anxiety of whether I’d get along with my new classmates, and whether I’d do well in my studies loomed over me like a shadow.

Yuki, however, was a radiant light beaming at me, dispelling every worry, every gloom, every shade that gripped me. We stopped at the gate, and she held out her hand towards me, smiling softly, and gazed into my eyes.

“Come with me, Haru-kun,” it’s as if her words pushed me over the edge of doubt.

She pulls my hand and we move forward. “Yeah, let’s go,” I answer.

With Yuki by my side, every riveting doubt dissipated.

We step through the gate, hand-in-hand.
