Chapter 33: Domestication

The efficiency of a private detective is very fast, let alone a private detective with the best reputation in the industry. As long as he has the heart, he could even figure out the target’s ancestors going back eighteen generations.

The private investigator Chang Qing hired was named Ye Mingye. He was a young man in his twenties with high energy and strong mobility. When Chang Qing called, he immediately sent him a report. This report included Qin Lang’s daily itinerary, as well as the as a record of all his internet-connected electronics.

The information was so comprehensive that he could almost tell him how many times Qin Lang went to the toilet a day.

This was only a one-day itinerary, so there wasn’t any useful information. When Lu Zheng asked people to investigate, they would definitely not dig into the connection between the Lu family and Qin Lang’s parents. Chang Qing and the detective finished the phone call, and after making arrangements, Lu Hua came back.

She seemed to be in a very good mood. She bounced in through the door, and threw her schoolbag to the ground, “Chang Qing!” She called out.

Chang Qing heard her voice but didn’t move. Lu Hua called his name again and soon found him. “I was calling for you. Why did you ignore me?” She asked unhappily.

Chang Qing said, “You have to call me brother.”

Lu Hua said confidently, “I think your name is pretty good too. It’s catchy… isn’t that what people call you? I’m going to call you by your name.”

Chang Qing said solemnly: “No, you have to call me brother.”

Lu Hua rebelled on the spot, “I don’t want to call you that, I want to call your name, Chang Qing! Chang Qing! Chang Qing!”

“…” Chang Qing reached out and patted her on the head, “Anything else can be discussed, but you must call me brother.”

Lu Hua let out a yelp. “You hit me again! You’re really pissing me off. What if I was beaten stupid by you?! Can you afford this responsibility?”

Chang Qing pondered, “You’re already stupid enough. No matter how stupid you are, you’re not going anywhere.”

Lu Hua: “… …”

Lu Hua: “Ahhhh!! You’re stupid! Your whole family is stupid!!”

“My whole family…” Chang Qing laughed, “Why do you like to scold yourself as much as your brother?”

Lu Hua rolled her eyes. “I’m not going to talk to you anymore! I’m going to do my homework!”

Chang Qing said behind her: “I want to be called brother, this is the bottom line. You’re not allowed to call my name.”

Lu Hua said angrily: “Call a ghost! I won’t call it.”

After Lu Hua finished speaking, she left with her schoolbag.

Chang Qing shook his head and breathed out a little.

Lu Zheng looked at his relationship with Lu Hua. He came down the stairs and said to Chang Qing, “My sister, she’s a little stupid but she is still obedient anyway. If this point also disappears, then there is nothing cute about her.”

Chang Qing didn’t know whether to agree with this or refute it. After thinking about it, he only vaguely “hm”.

Lu Zheng glanced at him, “Why do you want her to call you brother?”

Chang Qing lowered his head and said, “Why else? I always wanted a sister.”

Chang Qing said: “People are like this.  Everyone wants what they don’t have. If I had a younger sister in the first place, I wouldn’t have been so patient with Lu Hua.”

Lu Zheng looked pensive, “In that case, do you want to find your biological parents?”

Chang Qing was stunned, “…that’s not necessary.”

Lu Zheng asked, “No? Don’t you want to see who your biological parents are?”

The original owner was an orphan. He was thrown into a welfare home as soon as he was born. It wasn’t easy to grow up to this age. Chang Qing didn’t know if the original owner wanted to find them, but if it was him, he wouldn’t want to find his biological parents.

Since he was abandoned, his parents had no place for him in the first place. No matter what the reasons were, he was a superfluous and unwanted person.

Even if you find your biological parents, it will only increase embarrassment and resentment. In this case, it was better not to find them.

If you don’t get your hopes up from the start then you won’t be disappointed.

Chang Qing has always had negative feelings about parental affection. This was also related to his family. He always felt that he was very pathetic. Finally he was so desperate that he exiled himself.

Chang Qing didn’t want to think about these things. He took a deep breath and smiled, “I don’t have time to think about this. I thought about it at first, but after that, how can I have time to think about them? I don’t dare to dream about them anymore.”

Lu Zheng was silent for a while, then suddenly said, “I’ll help you find your biological parents.”

“…” Chang Qing’s smile froze, “…No need.”

Afraid that Lu Zheng was really going to find those biological parents, Chang Qing quickly said, “There’s really no need. I don’t have any idea about them, and I’m not curious about who they are. If they’re doing well, I’ll be angry and resentful. I’d wonder why they left me in the first place, since they have such a good life? Chang Qing couldn’t help frowning, “You really take it for granted. If my biological parents had children again, they wouldn’t necessarily get close to me. They would only treat me as a bad guy trying to grab their things and then hate me. And my biological parents would feel embarrassed and guilty. So even if I found my biological parents, it would be impossible for me to become a family member to them. It would only be an unfamiliar and polite relationship like one between a host and a guest.”

In this case, why bother to look for them? It’s meaningless, it will only make things more painful.

Lu Zheng was stunned. He was vague about these feelings and didn’t know much about them. He had never experienced them before. “I didn’t think about it that much. If that’s the case, then there’s no need to look for them.”

He paused, then reluctantly said, “My sister, after a good tune-up, some adjustment, and teaching, can still be used.”

Chang Qing couldn’t hold back and laughed, “Why are you like this…?”

Lu Zheng looked at him, his long and narrow eyes narrowed slightly, “What are you laughing at?”

Chang Qing pursed his lips and said with a smile: “I noticed it before. You don’t seem to like Lu Hua and Lu Shi very much. Is there any reason for this? ”

Lu Zheng had a deep affection for Lu Xuan. However, he was indifferent to Lu Hua and Lu Shi.

Lu Zheng raised his eyebrows and said calmly, “I don’t dislike them, I just think they’re annoying.”

Chang Qing could understand that. The pampered Lu Hua was unreasonable, and the immature Lu Shi was rebellious, which was indeed annoying, “Did you ignore them before?”

Lu Zheng didn’t speak, and his expression became slightly condensed. In the past, he had always worshipped Lu Xuan. Lu Xuan obviously indulged Lu Hua and Lu Shi and allowed them grow wildly. He had no reason to discipline them.

In fact, he still didn’t care. Lu Zheng was indifferent to these two little ones.  He didn’t even bother to ask about them if one of them became sick.

Lu Zheng was just such a person. He seemed to be an outgoing person who talked a lot and didn’t shy away from socializing. However, he was an extremely cold person. He was covered with barriers, and no one could soften him up and be by his side. Therefore, he had no close friends, no best friend, and no lover.

However, this situation was also caused by himself. He didn’t want these things, so he wouldn’t have them, and he didn’t deserve any sympathy. If people found out about this, it would not be too much to say that he deserved it.

However, Lu Zheng didn’t feel that he needed to be sympathized or pitied. This was his choice, and what he cared about most was his own feelings.

Lu Zheng couldn’t really understand the family that Chang Qing wanted. Except for his parents who died prematurely, Lu Xuan had given him that sort of blood bond of a brother which came from the infinite tolerance and gentleness of the blood relationship. Because they were brothers, he could suffer on his behalf without complaint. Lu Zheng was conquered by such almost selfless tenderness, but in his heart …He still couldn’t understand the bonds of family.

When Lu Chenghui and his wife passed away, he wasn’t too sad. But he was good at disguising it. And in front of Lu Xuan, he still appeared to cry silently.

Lu Chenghui was right back then. Lu Zheng was born with a rebellious streak. He had no empathy and was free to do whatever he wanted. In essence, it was because he had a much higher threshold for relationships than most people. He couldn’t be touched by the love of his parents nor the concern of others. He could not empathize with others, put himself in their shoes, or be restrained by moral sense, law, or ethics. Furthermore, such a person may even be a sociopath.

Lu Xuan’s patience and gentleness exceeded Lu Zheng’s threshold, and with Lu Chenghui’s help, he slowly domesticated him in a subtle way.

At this time, Lu Zheng could be a law-abiding ordinary person and he tried to understand the family that Chang Qing was talking about…He has been domesticated quite well.

Even if you don’t understand, you can pretend to understand. Even if you don’t understand, you can still be understanding.  Even if you don’t understand, you can act like nothing is wrong.
