Chapter 316 316: The Dungeon Of The Dragon Queen I

Even with Ravena's extreme speed, it still took them at least 10 hours to arrive at their next destination, and that was mainly because Cole had to stop three times to hunt gold rank creatures of significant power. He was now half way through the hunting quest, which was good.

The journey through the floors was still a significant race between him and other aspirants and all of them together against the system. No one knows what the end point would be, but ultimately they were all seeking the peak, whatever the limits of power was, they all wanted to reach it.

Their destination this time was a massive tower that shot out of the sea, it was close to two hundred meters tall, and was juts about the same  width as the empire state building in new York. That damn building was so old, Cole reckoned they should retire the damn thing or turn it into a museum.

Never the less the place he was going was one that he would enjoy very much. Since the event started he has only had the chance of going into it once. But never the less the tower was a dungeon, and it was not so much a tower than a rock that had stretched out of the sea and had been built into.

The information that had come about this place had said it was home to hundreds of aquatic and cave based dungeons monsters. Which meant this was not a massacre of the local aquatic monster population, but a massacre of some constructs of the system and energy. Which was good, Cole would use this chance to harvest a lot of stats. He was not just in a race against time, he needed to make sure he got a bit stronger before he faced the red dragon.

Anyways on to the boss of this dungeon and Cole's target. A sea dragon named Nimue. Cole did not give a shit that it had the same name as the lady of the lake from aurthurian legends. Or that just like the namesake from aurthurian legends, they were both associated with water in some way.

Nimue the boss of this tower, the big bad commando at the very tippy top was a sea dragon. The sea dragon of the Sapphire Sea, Nimue Oceanmaster. She ruled all of the sapphire seas at some point, and then Garudon the red arrived, a fire dragon, an aspirant. Not suited for the rigors of a world that was more than 85% water. Yet somehow Garudon had bested her, and taken control of what was once her domain.

She was exiled here, or at least to this area of the sapphire seas. Then she took over the dungeon now gaining access to an endless supply of monsters/soldiers. According to rumors, the monsters here was so powerful that they could defeat any being of equal strength and any of strength 10 steps above them. It meant if they were gold  I, they could defeat gold rank II.

Every level in the gold rank has a power increment of 10 times. That meant that they could fight and defeat beings ten times stronger than they were. It was a challenge to say the least, but this was lone Cole was looking forward to. A Dungeon's unique spatial environment was a good enough place for Cole to master his skills and full abilities at the gold rank... and there were opponents too, it could not be anymore perfect.

Ravena sailed until she docked on the island at a relatively small stretch of land. Cole suspected it was left that way for ships to dock. But they were not the only ships around, Cole counted at least 7 ships of equal size as Ravena, two that was larger, and  about a dozen that were smaller. A kind of shanty, or river town/ village had rose up around the tower.

"Adventurer's and Aspirants."

This floor had adventurers, fortune seeking men and women of power going around to search the deeps of the Sapphire sea for secrets and treasures. And they also dove dungeons like this to keep the monster population under control, but this dungeon was different. Cole raised his head up to see a sky filled with thousands of flying monsters, a good majority of them from what he could feel were Gold rank, some were really close.

Nimue was letting them challenge the dungeon because lives and energy fuel the dungeon, which in turn would create more monsters, adding more and more to her ever growing army. And the dregs of that were what she left in the tower to tear people apart for her own amusement.

Cole got down from Ravena, and stretched out his hand with a dull look as a piece of jade chip away from the jade dragon part of Ravena. It attached itself around his wrist like a bracelet. This was so that Cole and Ravena would still remain in contact.

He shook his head and stepped foot on the tower's land, but the very moment he did, he felt as if someone was looking at him. Cole ignored how his scales seemed to rattle, going up and down, a gesture that was akin to the hairs of a person standing on edge.

"You dot have to climb the dower like the rest of the sheep, you can up to me directly and I Nimue will accommodate you, be it in friendship or in enmity." Cole scoffed and shook his head as he said to the voice that was so loud it caught the attention of everyone, yet at the same time was said in such a soft spoken manner it was akin to a whisper.

"You don't have to worry your pretty little head my darkling, I'm coming up soon. Then we can have a chat, but for now. Let me get a tour of the place, I'm sure we can sit down for bloo-Cough! I mean drinks." Cole was not fooling anyone. He was here for the dragon and she knew it, and now everyone else knew it…..now it was just a question of who would get to her first.
