Chapter 285 285: Part 1: Territory Upgrades II

The first thing on his agenda would be to get his territory all the way up to the iron rank, then see what he has available from there and push it all the way to the silver rank at least. That would be more than enough to keep the entirety of the territory safe, at least for now anyways while he's away on the city floor, it would be really troublesome if he comes back here and find his territory in flames or ruins and that was not some Cole would have liked.

[You Have Spent 2600 Wood And Stone Units, And 260 Magic Cores And 260 Bronze Prisms To Raise Your Territory To Bronze Rank IX +450 Energy, +35 Territory Points]

[Iron Rank Upgrade Cost: <1000 Wood> <1000 Stone> <500 Ore> <100 Magic Core> <5 Iron Rank Prism>]

[Commencing Upgrade: Time 4:58]

Cole raised an eyebrow at that, it seems it would take only about five minutes for the territory to rank up for the first time. He knew though that getting it to silver would most definitely take more time, but he had no idea how much. The jump from one rank to another was not something that was as simple as a doubling of strength. At least you get to be ten times stronger than what you once were. Cole had to believe that the same thing applied to the glades or rather the territory itself, so definitely it would take more time and more resources to raise their ranks up.

Cole walked down from the entrance towards the manor, however there was now a significant distance between the both of them. At his fastest walking speed it would take Cole at least 10 minutes to get there. And this was just walking in a straight line, and the manor was placed right in the middle of the territory. From where Cole was standing he could see the pillars rising up at least 25 feet into the sky, serving as a boundary for another stretch of land, kind of like walls to an inner city.

Cole came to a realization and decided he would build a wall in between the pillars. They would serve as secondary line of defense for him and his inner circle. Cole chuckled as he noticed small pockets of intruders within his territory. He had told that woman to get them out, but it seems she was testing his patience about what he could do, and so much so when he gets angry, because as it stands, Cole was getting angry.

He could leave them be until he was done with this upgrades, but then they would be able to see the changes to his territory and be able to relay that back to the enemies. They would know what to expect and make strategies about how to break his defenses, especially when he's not around. It was time to take out the trash, Cole thought to himself as he planted his feet on the ground and closed his eyes.

In the very moment he spread his perception around him, and because of his connection to his territory he was able to push it past it's normal levels and cover the entirety of his territory. Cole had to be honest though, that was a lot of land. He couldn't accurately measure it, but Cole was sure he had something close to 80 to a 100 hectares of land. There was just so much to cover, but his awareness covered them. Every last blade of grass and stray rock was laid bare for him, and with that those that did not belong Within his territory were shone to him, their bodies blazing purple and red in his perception like a sickness. He chuckled to himself as he realized something…..[Chaos Blast] was no longer the name of his skill, in fact he had been using in the same way all this while when he knew it had changed, it was no longer an active skill, rather it was now a passive skill.

[Chaos Lord]

Chaos energy blasted out of Cole's body, the sheer volume of it so much that it spread up into the sky, and then began to create a dome of darkness that was covering the entirety of Cole's territory in seconds. It was as if day had turned to night, a night that was pitch black with red and purple lightning dancing all over the heavy dark clouds that now hung over Raen Valley. This was like the world and nature itself reacting to the anger and rage of an evil god….and maybe it was, all one should really know though is that woe to those who have caught his ire.

And with that said, the lightning began to dance and flash down, lighting up the gloomy new world in flashes of red and purple as moles were eradicated left right and center. Their screams echoing into the air as many of them were denizens and not just darklings. Their screams were like music to Cole, but it was only just the bonus score to the orchestra of destruction and desolation that Cole was now conducting.

But there was a certain amount of control to it, Chaos was desolating and leaved anything it touched in a very dangerous state. Cole had fine tuned his control, helped mainly by his [Energy Manipulation] passive. The lightning strikes did not reach the ground, only blasting the heads of the moles and the weird runes they had placed around his territory, runes that Cole made it a point of contention to get and not miss a single one of it.

And then just as suddenly as it had started for the territory, it had come to an end. 622 people were dead, there were no darklings in here, they would have probably tripped an alarm or would not have been able to hide well enough to sneak in. All that Cole had slain were either denizens or those weird blood thralls. In the end he finished just in time for the five minutes period of upgrade for the territory came to an end, leaving him with a small smile on his face and an imaginary pat on his back for having great timing.

But never the less, it was still time to grow some more!
