Chapter 224 224: The 9th Wave VI

To Cole it looked as if Delarosa had swallowed a rather large and bitter pill, but in the end like most pills it was not as if it wouldn't be to her benefit. She just had to be sure of her conviction, Cole did not need to give her a sales pitch.

From just the way they had fought each other and the fact that Cole could use the abilities of his sword liberally within having to deal with the consequences of every move requiring his vitality to power it. He had a secret that could enable her to live as even becoming an Undead had not been enough to save her from the creeping entropy of the demonic blade she was bound to. What Cole was offering perhaps was a way to Survive, salvation, because he could see it in her clearer than she could in herself…. There was regret.

"Let me warn you, if this is a trick, then it doesn't matter that death would be what stands between the both of us, I will do my best to make sure you pay. Cole rolled his eyes, he did not know why people could not just take his word for it and believe him whenever he says they should….or just listen and be careful when he says he'd do something really dangerous either….it was baffling, he never made a promise he was not serious about.

With just a single thought Cole recalled the negative energy that had been causing havoc within her body, absorbing it back into himself almost as if it was never missing in the first place. He could see the discomfort in her body vanish as she gave off an obvious sigh of relief, then Cole saw the calculation left behind her final eye, he saw her raise her blade and cross the distance between the both of them, sword point aiming at his forehead, but Cole did not blink, he had to faith that his hunch was right, even as death seemed to swallow up the distance and was getting closer and closer to him by the second.

He heard someone scream from behind him, probably Irma or Farida, Cassandra was never one to scream in shock when she could use that energy to take action, which was why he was not surprised when an arrow went over his shoulder and took Delarosa in the chest. Pat of the arrow was phased through her illusory body, but the other half remained enough to cause her damage and make her falter, but it did not stop her. And soon enough the distance between them was negligible as the Blade pierced and Inch into his skull, before she came to a stop.

There was silence across the entirety of the battlefield, everything was so still it was almost as if time itself had come to a stand still. But Cole was constant, a pillar of confidence and fearlessness that would face off and withstand whatever Trials this damn floor has to throw at him. Delarosa sighed, then pulled her blade back, watching as it came back with not just Cole's blood, but a silvery green liquid that he knew without a doubt was the poison in his body. She looked up at him, then knelt in front of him, her shoulder's sagging in total surrender. Then she asked him.

"What do I next?" Cole smiled as he crouched down in front of her and placed a hand on her shoulder. It was a bit hard as her body seemed to be phasing between material and the immaterial. Even if she had been successful in defeating Cole, this would most definitely had been her last battle as she would have died soon after. Cole began to pour his own energy into her body, whilst draining her's recycling it and sending it back again, utilizing his [Sin Eater] skill.

And as he did that, of the undead that were still alive and close enough, he stretched out other hand and used [Sin Reaper] taking on their vitality as they all turned to desiccated husks, while he sent that vitality back into Delarosa's body. What he was doing right now was mainly relying on instinct. He has done this once, and the second time the system itself had been responsible through use of an oath, which was why Cole thought long and hard about what he wanted her to say before bringing his lips closer to her ears and asking to repeat everything he says.

"The Way Of The Raen, Is The Way Of The Strong. It Is The Way Of Protector As It is The Way Of The Destroyer.

It's Path One Of Solitude But Solidarity In The Oneness Of The Legion. I Pledge My Blade To The Chaos, To The Grey Between The Black And White.

To Be Observer Of This Universe's Secrets, And The Hidden Mysteries Of The Next. To Claim It For Raen's Creed, For The Way Of The Raen, Is The Way Of Greed.

I Pledge My Body And Soul To The Embrace Of The Progenitor, For His Vision Is My Geas To Uphold.

I Pledge My Life To The Cause Of The Progenitor, For His Path Is My Destiny To Uphold.

I Pledge Myself To Raen Kind One And All, For The Way Of The Raen, Is The Way Of World Breakers.

Now And Forever, Till Eternity Ends!"

Cole had thought long and hard about this oath ever since it was what was required for Irma and her father to become Raen Spawns. And it seems the change would always be unique to a person's current race, but ultimately you would still be a Raen. There was a crack of thunder, as Darkness finally swallowed the land, as one the Undead that were left turned to Cole and Delarosa and went on the attack, just as the cloak covering her body became more corporeal and a wind blew last them, to throw her hood of her head.

Hair as white as snow, skin the tell tale red and black with green and silver tribal tattoos allover her body. Golden orbs as piercing as the sun and very much synonymous with the Raen Race stared back at Cole from two complete set of eyes, as fangs poked out of her upper lip and a tail swished behind her. Cole grinned as she asked him a question.

"Master….. what is your command?" and all he did was point at the remaining Banelings that were once a part of her army and said to her.

"Finish it."
