Chapter 220 220: The 9th Wave II

Raion, a new name as Tehilla had suggested, something that would take him fully away from the clutches of his family, name something to show that he was also disconnecting himself from them. While he really couldn't tell the Public the reason for the split, such a choice would mean everyone, including Cole himself would end up in prison for multiple counts of murder. He could at the very least show the world that he and them were no longer on good terms and they could not speak on his behalf anymore.

The name was gaudy and somewhat of a mouthful, but Tehilla had said it did not matter, he could have chosen his name to be Cole Beans for all she cared, the advantage was in it's intention. And that was he had become independent of his family, independent of the Night name. Never the less it would take a while for him to get used to it, but there was no hurry, he had the rest of his life for that.

He had made a big hole within this army, but they were so organized that it gave even Cole pause, and such a sight honestly tempted him into having an army of his own. They were tactical and symmetrical to a fault, but perhaps this level of symmetry was something that could only be achieved by the undead, there was no wasted movements in the way they moved, it was robot like and at the same time fluid. This was a challenge to Cole, and he was sure he was going to enjoy trying to break their formation.

*VOOOOOOOOOM!*

Cole's danger sense went off, as he quickly laid himself flat on the ground as a fiery beam of energy about 8 meters in diameter seared a path through the undead horde, burning his back, neck and head. He screamed in pain as he turned over, trying desperately to find a way to reduce the pain he was currently feeling, he snarled the pain so intense that it almost devolved him into a complete animalistic state. He turned back and saw the still smoking barrel of the [Solus Launcher] in the distance.

With pain addling his mind, Cole created a massive ball of [Chaos Blast] and dumped 500 Points worth of energy into it, increasing it's size to that of a monster truck. That very moment his healing kicked in enough to dull the pain he was feeling, reducing his agony as the flow of adrenaline in his body reduced a bit. They were lucky, and even the people who were behind the cannon and could now see Cole, shuddered in fear, Cole was ready to decimate them, it did not matter that they were his allies.

He snarled and flung the [Chaos Blast] further into the army, using it as a bowling ball as Cole held onto control of the skill and made it roll as it flew forwards. Every Baneling in it's part was bowled over and turned to black dust, before Cole finally felt the strain from using the skill in such a manner, besides he had put in a lot of energy into it, so he really was pushing the limit of what he could handle.

*BOOM!*

The explosion was powerful enough to even push Cole back, he dug his heels into the ground , digging furrows into it as the shockwave from the explosion pushed him back, Chaos energy saturating him and the atmosphere in the process. This was a destructive use of his skill that had been driven by anger brought on by intense pain, this was a warhead in action and Cole was ready to put this against his own allies just for them catching him in the line of fire.

But of course there was no way they could have seen him, he was buried within a horde of very tall Banelings. But even at that the shockwave still reached them, and lucky enough for them, it had dissipated enough to not cause any sort of lasting damage to them, though most of them did end up feeling sick, with one person even having part of his fingers vaporized, the fact that he was the person responsible for pulling the trigger of the launcher probably had nothing to do with it.

There was an opening now within the formation of the Baneling Horde, but just as quickly as it had appeared the Banelings left were quickly on the move, moving back into formation like nothing had happened. However there was no way Cole was going to let that happen, but just as he wanted to stop them, they too wouldn't let him stop them as ten bruisers converged on his location with the intent to do harm, each sporting a massive hammer in hand, it was as if they all came to play a game of whack-a-Cole.

But he was ready for them though, Cole could feel residue of Chaos in the air, enough to know that it was threatening to pull him down into the zone of slaughter that only Chaos and [Wrath Drive] could elicit. But he had a different plan in mind as he stretched his hand out and began to pull on the chaos available. Suddenly streaks of red and black energy began to rush towards, it was like Cole was holding onto to multiple strings of chaos that completely blanketed the entire battlefield. However there was such a weight to them that Cole had to holster both guns and get down on one knee as his shared the burden between both hands.

The strings covered ever where, Cole had his hands crossed over his chest, trying his best to pull as much of the chaos as he could into his hands. And when he could pull no more he raised his head up to see that hundreds of the Banelings had been bound. The strings moved every which way into their formation, so in the end every single one of them were tangled up. Then with just a thought Cole gave every chaos string an edge and then pushed energy into his entire body as he pulled with a massive yell.

*SQUELCH!*
