Chapter 207 207: The 7th Wave II

the fuck is an under mountain? Cole thought to himself, probably forgetting that he should perhaps ask Neral what or who exactly they are or were. But before he could say anything, the Denizens amongst their fighters were already whispering amongst themselves, the fear that they were feeling was very obvious and it made Cole want to take this situation a little bit more seriously.

But never the less, panic was being widespread, and if he did not get things under control soon, someone would do something very stupid. And they did, Cole did not know who started running first, but as soon as the first Denizen took to their heels, the second followed and soon most of them were running with the Aspirants following.

Cole growled and glared at Neral, with just a couple of words the damn dog had sent his entire army packing. Soon enough there was a bit of beeping coming from Neral's body. Cole frowned as a hologram of Irma popped out, looking as worried as the rest of the Denizens that had just taken to their heels. Cole huffed and glared even harder at the dog, who shrunk under his master's annoyance.

"Cole you have to get everyone out of there and pull back the defense line back to the gates. At the very least those are my father's request. Under mountain used to be a group of extremely powerful vigilantes or heroes depending on how you want to see them. Each and every single one of that five man group has the power to bring down an entire Babel Tower, which is what made them so dangerous.

However knowing you, I know retreat is not an option for you. Frankly speaking if we give up ground then it would be that much harder for to defend against the subsequent waves that would be coming out way. And from what I've heard from Neral, it seems the 7th, 8th, 9th, and 10th waves have members of the under mountain as bosses with the final wave being led by the two strongest. The fighting just got a lot more intense, I'm preparing to head out to lend some help in case you need it. But ultimately if you would listen to me, I think you should at least try to face them….. I know these guys are powerful, but you…. You're a fucking monster. It's almost as if the stronger the enemies you fight the more powerful you become."

As Irma was speaking Cole he noticed Farida and Cassandra turn to each other with and gave themselves a knowing look. He had absolutely no idea what the fuck that meant, but it was weird, and if he didn't have this extremely serious situation in front of him to deal with, he would have asked them what it meant. But never the less there was something bothering him that he needed to be sure about.

"How the fuck did you know about all of this information before it got to me, last I checked I'm supposed to be the person that Neral should report to first. Why the fuck is my own property answering to you before it does to me?" The entire atmosphere took a turn from that moment onwards as a chill settled down on everyone, even Irma who was not close by felt it as she involuntarily took a step backwards and the hologram flickered a bit.

"I swear I don't know how she found out boss, I didn't even know I had message sending capabilities, I came straight here!" Neral tried to explain as he laid down flat, putting his head on the ground in much the same way a dog that was begging or feeling remorseful would do. It was obvious to everyone that the basis of Neral's and Cole's relationship was not born of mutual trust or love or understanding as it is with most dogs and their owners.

In this case the Cyber dog's own superior intellect was working against him. Neral served Cole and would be serving him for a long time because of fear, because in all of his life, up until this point, even after seeing the so called vigilantes of under mountain. Cole evoked a level of fear in him that he has never experienced before, or will ever experience again, Cole was the boogey man, and Neral was the boggy man's personal bitch.

"Please be calm…..Master Cole. I was the one who facilitated and oversaw Neral's upgrades. I had a surveillance software built into his ocular circuitry because I thought that….. I thought that he would or could do cool stuff that I could see….. and copy." By the end of it her voice had gotten a lot smaller than it usually is.

Cole was annoyed, but that did not stop Farida and Cassandra from laughing and snickering behind him. Cole did not even know what to say about this, it was as if everyone around him, had some sort of inner child or inner teenager that they would be channeling in the most inopportune moment….. it was…it was… damn it! Cole knew he really couldn't judge this particular one, he was not innocent of such an attitude too. Either way they had to move forward with how to deal with the shit that was on their way.

"I'll remove the software as soon as he's back here. But concerning the Under Mountain…. What do you intend to do?" Irma asked as a bit of a nervous tilt edged into her voice. Farida chuckled as she moved forwards so that the Hologram could see her well enough.

"Id tell what he's going to do, he's going to go vigilante hunting. So you say those guys are heroes right, or vigilantes ….. the good guys…. Or rather they used to be the good guys. Either way there's always that bad guy, that one dude that's evil but always wins. And even if he loses, them heroes would have to pay the price. So if tell you what this man is going to do, he is going to rip these scary heroes of yours to pieces and in such a terrible way that just witnessing it would be Haram of the highest order. I'd advice you to get here soon, you wouldn't want to miss the show." Cole looked at the Hologram of Irma and said.

"What she said Irma darling, see you soon."
