Chapter 182 182: Landlord

To purchase land within Glade solitude it had to be done through the architecture guild, and also any sort of upgrades to buildings or even the building of new buildings was all done through the architecture guild. However at the moment the architecture guild was pretty basic, so there was not a plethora of options available in the construction of a person's given territory.

The only way to actually get anything done was to get an architectural blueprint, and those things were rare as fuck. Of course alternatively you can purchase one from the system's shop for boat load of gold as architectural blueprints even the basic ones were really expensive.

Cole thought the entire thing was ridiculous as the blueprints for buildings were just cosmetic, to a certain extent of course. If you wanted to build a fortress in your given area, then you can be sure you would be able to achieve it, but it will eat up a shit ton of your money and resources.

Cole's return had already been announced by now, with news of it already being spread amongst the aspirants. So quite a few people were gathered as he was within the architecture guild, looking over the options of available locations and their price.

It was presented to him in the form of tiles each of them over different locations and have different prices. He could highlight a tile and be given information over the area it covers, and he could select multiple times at once and be told how much all of the tiles will cost collectively. Without hesitation he had selected five tiles with the tile holding the former darkling nest being right at the edge right besides the tile for the renewable wood forest.

Each tile represented an acre, he had also found out that some tiles could be broken down into pieces in case an aspirant could not afford the entre amount for the Acre. Alternatively some aspirants could have joint ownership over a tile and then have it split into individual plots, which was pretty much what the aspirants have done in other to have so many houses pop up.

Because honestly the staggering price of 300 gold per tile was absolutely insane and almost no one here had been able to gather that much without selling things that were extremely valuable to them and would be advantage in the long run.

The Tiles with the resource nodes were twice the amount as 600 gold, that brought the total price of his entire purchase up to 1.800.000 million gold, which frankly speaking was almost the entirety of his wealth as he had 2.300.000 million gold or there about.

He did not count the silver or the bronze as those did not matter at all. He could use the smaller denominations for smaller purchases, but in the end this was an important investment. And based on what Cassandra had told him he pretty much would be gaining back all of that money soon.

[You Have Gained 5 Acres Of Land Inclusive Of A Gold Grade Ore/Stone Resource Node And A Silver Grade Wood Node]

[4 Hectares Of Land Has Been Added To Current Owned Land! Addition Of New Land Will Cause Grade Expansion Around Owned Properties]

[Bronze Rank VIII Territory Rowan Valley Has Been Removed From Assets Inventory!]

[Rowan Valley Has Been Set As Default Name For Owned Territory! Change Name?]

[Raen Valley Has Been Set As Name For New Territory. Territory Management System Unlocked!]

[As the First Aspirant To Own A Hectare Of Land The Title Land Lord Has Been Unlocked! +200% To All Territory Production, Effects, Defense, And Attack]

These were the first set of notifications he have seen since he had logged back in, and frankly speaking there was quite a lot of it waiting for him. But seeing as he had bought land that currently people were harvesting on without his permission, there was bound to be a sort of rejection from the system, and after that there would also be a blow back, which means frankly speaking quite a few people would now be calling for Cole's head. But he didn't care, all that mattered was his profit, and having a safe place to call his own.

The atmospheric base was out in the real world…. Or was it in here, he really couldn't tell. The ship he had been given had been made to seem like it existed simultaneously within this universe and the real world, never the less Cole still had to go check things out.

He stepped out of the architecture building and started walking in the direction of his recently acquired territory. But he had barely taken more than 5 steps when an exe came flying for his head. Cole leaned to the side, his senses a lot more sharper than before as the axe flew past his head like some harmless toy.

But Cole narrowed his eyes when he noticed the person responsible for the flying ace and promptly blasted him with a chaos blast, or he would have if Farida's screeching voice was not heard immediately, forcing him to not pursue his current attack.

"COLE! What the hell!"

Okay she was angry, she was very angry but ultimately Cole was still the world breaker. And while he was indulgent the first time he was here, because he knew that playing along and working hand in hand with people was the only way he could possibly make it to the next floor.

However now he was back to who he really was, and after the incident with his aunt he was not one to be leaving lose ends around. So he pulled out Blue Obsidian and pointed it's barrel straight at the forehead of the approaching Farida who stopped short the moment she saw it in front of her. Cole scoffed, she had gotten soft, weak, and that was when he realized what exactly the fucking third floor was.

This place was a fucking trap, by now everyone had to know that earth would soon become part of a much wider universe. A universe where there are already established powers that would carve up the earth and share it amongst themselves until there's nothing left. And through it all the humans within, them, their civilization would be ground to dust with nothing left to show for it as they would be taken as slaves or cheap labor or just outright killed. The strong would dominate the weak and there would never be a dawn on the word democracy again, it would be a blood bath with them coming out not on top but dead.

To a certain level he was sure everyone here knew this, but they had gotten complacent. The 3rd floor would give them the sanctuary they so desperately sought, an order to the chaos that would see in their future.

Instead of them to embrace it, they all wanted to sit back, make friends, smile and build their crappy houses while gathering resources for the Glade and getting didly squat from it. There would be absolutely no gain, but they were all jumping on the bandwagon in the hopes they can build something like they have on earth.

But Cole have seen that this world, this universe absolutely did not work like that. It was a hundred times more cruel than what Earth has become or will ever become. And what was worse about it was the influence, the system corrupts and it will continue to do so until everything and everyone was just like it.

And the weak, the people in this Glade and any other Glade that want to fall into the comfort it has to offer, they will burn and they will be miserable and they will end.

"You should all be grateful, at least now you can get off your lazy asses and do what you came here to do. Do you think this is a Game!" Cole yelled out at the end shocking everyone enough that they took a few steps backwards.

"How stupid can you all be, the world, fuck our entire universe is ending about to be swallowed up by one filled with monsters a hundred times worse than I am, and all you fuckers want to do is play a fucking territory building sim. Do you think this fucking floor would be protected from the horrors that would ravage earth and the universe or did all you fucks forget your bodies, your real bodies are still out there.

What you are here is an idea, and projection of what you will become when the system finally devours our reality and unleashes hell on earth. So believe me when I tell you that if you are weak here, then you are all going to be fuckin weak there. So I let you in on the reality, going forwards 30% of any resource mined in my territory is mine, and 15% from every sale made belongs to me. I don't care if you don't like it, you can all go eat shit for all I care, maybe the. You'd realize that in front of real power…. You're all nothing!

Anybody who fucking crosses me again, whether they be someone I consider a friend or an enemy, I'll fucking kill you in the most painful way possible. Both in here and in the fucking real world, and in case you guys have not realized.

The rule that prevents fellow members of a Glade from killing themselves have been rescinded, so let's all live in peace. Pay my dues and you can mine from my tunnels and log from my forests. That is all I have to say about the matter, now if you will excuse me, you all can have a good day!"

With his piece said he marched away, and unsurprisingly Cassandra followed right behind him, her son not to far behind. Perhaps it is time for him to cultivate a force of his own, he has grown weary of the name Night anyways….. time to build his own family, time to build his own empire.

Being nothing in the face of true power was him remembering how helpless he was and at the mercy of his Aunt….. no matter what….. that will never happen again.
