Chapter 169 169: Rebirth In The Apocalypse

The flames twisted up and around her body in a massive conflagration, it confused Cole, sure she had some sweet ass uncontrollable fire powers, but that doesn't mean it was normal or okay for her to just combust into flames all of a sudden. But by this point Cole was well aware that not everything he saw or expected to go a certain would go that way, each floor seemed to function within the parameters of their own rules of reality, which was weird as according to his understanding all of the floors were all within the same digital universe.

But that was all too much to think about right now as he really couldn't make heads or tails about a lot of things. In due time though, one day earth is going to become a part of the wider universe maybe then he would be able to understand a lot of things that he never possibly could, in the end though Irma had stopped burning, what was left after was just a huge pile of Ashes as both Cole and the Bionic Zombie dog looked on at her remains.

"Now that is some freaky shit!" the Dog cried out as it took a couple of steps backwards, making sure to keep the pile of Ashes in-between itself and Cole. Cole. Couldn't help but to raise an eyebrow at that comment, it was just so stupid that it was coming out from the mouth of what he would considered the freakiest shit around.

"I know what you're thinking uninfected human, but I am The Grand General Dipshit! I am not a freak, but a specimen of canine and peak bionic engineering 59 give you a super K9 warrior unlike anything that you have ever seen or will ever see before. So do he careful what you think of me I can just get angry right now and decide to break your fucking spine after pumping you full of lead…. Then I will eat your bullet riddle remains….. wait! You won't also spontaneously burst into flames right?" Cole rolled his eyes, absolutely tempted to end the wacky and obviously very insane dog.

Somehow it had retained it's intellectual functions or at least some of it. Given the weird state of it's body, and the fact it kept introducing itself as 'The Grand General Dipshit' made Cole realize perhaps it was giving him a catch phrase rather than a real name, because it would even more freak if truly it's name was 'The Grand General Dipshit' but both Cole and the Dog where drawn out of their musings by a startled cry as Irma burst out of the ashes crying and shaking. Both Cole and the General looked at her as she seemed manic, groaning and turning around as if she had no idea where she was…..or who she was.

"Perhaps we should reconsider what is freaky….. your friend just came back from the dead and she's acting like a complete nutcase. I mean we should of course also consider the fact that she is some fine, fine wine. An extremely fine naked nutcase... she must taste absolutely delicious now that she's not a ruined splat of meat on the pavement." This was definitely getting out of hand, and yes she was naked and while Cole would love to honestly say he was the perfect gentleman, if was unfortunate that he couldn't.

She was hot, and the fiery red tattoos allover her body seemed to add to the mystery that made her quite exotic. Finally she seemed to calm down, her breathing getting slower as she sat in the midst of her own ashes while Cole tried his best to ignore the multiple nooks and crannies in her body that the damn ashes was getting into. For some reason both he and The General were more than willing to wait for her to come to a conclusion or realization or whatever, and it didn't take too long.

"Shit! We fell on the west side of the tower! We have to get moving now if we don't want my ground team to leave without us….. I also need to find a way to communicate with them. Is there perhaps a chance that you have any sort of satellite phone or something similar." Irma asked as she got back up to her feet and shivered a bit, Cole shook his head no to her as he pulled of his jacket and threw it to her, just as she unceremoniously punted the General so hard that he flew back almost 300 meters, Cole raised an eyebrow….. she was stronger.

"Just great! Come with me, we need to get into this station, we should be able to secure some weapons that don't look like they came out from a cowboy flick and some B rated fantasy flick. That stupid dog ate my pancreas, the bitch!" Cole raised an eyebrow again, but he was not the one to give Irma a reply.

"The pancreas of uninfected people go a long way in helping me retain a smooth and well glossed fur, but I can understand why you will feel slighted about my eating of your sweet pancreas. Please fair lady my name is….."

"The Grand General...Dipshit! I watched all of kooky patrols on tv as a child, those ancient reruns of you saving helpless cats and babies were the only source of entertainment we had. It's so surprising to see that somehow you are still alive…..but an irritating existence."

"Oh! So you do know of my gloriousness! Good! It's good that you know! Now give me your Pancreas and Brain! And I won't hurt you." Cole's eyebrows jumped again as the gun on its back made another appearance and clicked empty once again, while Irma looked on at it with an annoyed looked. Cole on the other hand was beginning to find their exchange amusing and extremely so if he had to be honest.

"Are you done, I should kill you, but your cognitive functions even as a zombie is astounding. It's not like the others who are cut off from humanity and now have a society of their own drive by the constant need to consume all and everything that lives. Say I can give you all the pancreas and brains you want, freshly harvester from a specimen that would never run out of brains and pancreas." Cole did not know how it was possible but the damn dog narrowed it's eyes.

"That sounds too good to be true, what's the catch?" Even Cole felt that it was too good to be true, where would she get someone who could regrow their own brains after it has been harvested to feed this crazy dog, only someone with.....! Cole narrowed his eyes too as he took a few steps back no longer liking the direction in which the conversation was going.

"The catch is you follow me back to Sanctuary. We have doctor's and scientist who have been working their hardest to find a way to reverse engineer the virus or at the very least create a vaccine that would make us either immune to a bite or be able to fight it's effects long enough to get it out of our bodies. In return you will have a lifetime supply of human pancreas and brains. And I will also get you some ammunition for you rotary gun, and maybe some new armor like the one you used to wear in the old shows….what do you say?" Irma asked as she dragged Cole's jacket closer to her body.

"That sounds like a good deal….. it has been a lonely few dozen centuries….perhaps it has been longer or shorter ….. can I also get a software and hardware upgrade? My mind is….. fractured." The dog spoke with such melancholy and sadness that even the somewhat heartless Cole was almost moved. But in the end, where was she going to be getting all those pancreas and brains.

"Don't worry, you'll heal" Irma said to him as she marched past him, heading towards the massive but still somewhat small buildings behind the massive satellite dish that had caught them as they fell out of the sky. He sputtered at the audacity but both the woman and the dog chose to ignore him. Cole wondered if perhaps it was more than just the rules of reality or physics that were different on this floor, maybe common sense was not common sense.

After all how can a dog be a woman's best companion…..both the dog and the woman should be beholden to the man... why are they suddenly tight chumps and he's the person being prepared to be eaten. Not that he was being misogynistic but….. a woman is made for a man just as man is made for her and a dog is a man's fucking best friend...even if it's a cyborg zombie..... yeah no, who was he to come in between such magical relationship. Cole snickered as really nasty thoughts crossed his head, the sooner they got to safety the better, he had things to do.
