Chapter 134 134: Glade Politics III

And that was the story of how Cole still somehow ended up becoming mayor. And it did not matter how much pleading, because it did eventually get to the point where he had to start pleading for mercy. But this role was foisted hard upon his shoulder and Farida has not been able to stop laughing about it. In a manner of speaking Cole felt that perhaps this was Cassandra's way to revenge for what he has been doing to Farida, and while it sucks he knew he deserved it. But ultimately with him being leader again, he could order everyone to back off so that he could get a moment of peace and make his advancements, but he still had to talk to Cassandra.

"This is my brother Silas, in here he called himself Razor. Which is funny because he is nothing more than an alchemist engineer something or whatever the fuck he calls it. The bottom line is this is my one lifeline in this world, so if you go back on your word it doesn't matter to me how far across the galaxy you are, I will find you and kill you even if it's the last thing I will ever do in our fucking universe. So are you ready to listen?" she asked as she turned and sure enough noticed Raven watching her with an extremely focused look on his face.

"I am taking a lot of risks being here and saying what I am about to, but because you are who you are in the real world I feel that perhaps you would have a solution. So please help us!" Cole raised an eyebrow, there was absolutely no sign of the tough girl routine that she has been playing all this while. But it wasn't as if she wasn't tough, Cole noticed that even now she was still trying to play him. The young boy besides her was not as in on her games as she was, but never the less Cole could understand that right now she wanted something from him, so she would use every tool in her arsenal in order to appeal to his better nature.

Or perhaps she could be trying to appeal to his masculine side, hoping he had that male complex of always running to go save a damsel in distress. But she would probably be in for a ride awakening as the only thing that could possibly motivate Cole to make any sort of love was the fact that he had already made her a promise, and he had no choice but to keep his word. So he gave her a quick nod and placed a serious look on his face, two could play that game.

"We're residents on the Saturn colony [Brahma Dome], that's where my brother got sick… radiation poisoning. Working the factories on that planet is the only way most people can make a living, but it is poisoning the dome itself and soon it would be completely uninhabitable for the residents who have either rushed from elsewhere to make a living or are descendants of the first settlers. Having a ship at the ready to evacuate civilians is not something that you can find at the drop of a hat and even at that not without a significant amount of money to your name, off world travel cost upwards of 2 million dollars just to move from to the moon where there are actually transport services and ships, imagine what it would cost to get from Saturn to earth, and the ship probably has to come from elsewhere.

But that's not the worst part, the worst part is doing it with a sick 15 year old who would not be able to survive without life support and specialist doctors looking Over him round the clock. I'm ready to give anything up to save my brother even my body. I will not beat around the bush, you might not care about it, or have someone I don't care, I am offering all that I am so please help us. Raven promised to help, but all he has done is keep Silas stable and in game and working as a crafter for his guild, he has the means to get us off world, but those means belong to his rich family that owns what's left of the factories killing Silas and that have already killed his father. We're still living in his family's Facility so if there's anything you want to do, you have to do it now or Silas will die!"

That was not a story that Cole was expecting, and while Cassandra did not need or have a reason to lie, Cole felt that she was keeping a couple of things to herself and close to her chest. He had no idea what it was, but ultimately he would get to the bottom of everything eventually. He looked down as Silas aka Razor and took notice 9f the boy for the first time. He had bright green hair streaked with grey, an horns growing from the side of his temples, additionally he had an annoyed look etched on his face….Cole did not think the boy liked him very much. And for some reason it absolutely rankled him, he didn't know why, it was like there was some rivalry between them being formed right now and Cole just knew it would piss the hell out of him.

"I don't like you!" Silas said up front, Cole respected that, he was quite the man so he did him one better. "awwnn I don't like you too kiddo!" Cole said back to him in a sing song voice then ruffled his hair to piss him off even more. And it worked as Silas Aka Razor jumped at Cole only for Cassandra to hold him back. He shook his head then turned his head to Cassandra.

"Ill send people to put pressure on Raven's family, you would have to give me their name and the name of their holdings though. Once my people are in contact with them Raven has no choice but to keep the life support active. I'll check to see if we have any ships in the vicinity and also any medical facilities close by to Saturn too where we can pick up a specialist doctor. Or better yet if we can't get you guys a doctor there should be a cryo pod that would put him in stasis until I can come fetch you guys from space."

"Wait what! You're coming to get us yourself?" Cassandra asked, but Cole shook his head.

"Not really, but I have a few business to deal with in space, so I decided I would just pick you guys up in the process then go take care of my business before coming back to earth. Depending on the severity of Silas's condition we would either leave him in stasis, don't worry he should still be logged in to Titan Rising Online. That way he is not completely shut off from the rest of the world, either way condition wise we could either just leave him in stasis while I take care of my business or I'll send him back to earth for immediate treatment. So between now and then you should show me your worth, you've placed you bets with me, I'll make sure you won't regret it." Cole said to her making sure Silas was hearing him then he brought his head down to look at the boy.

"I don't like you squirt, something about you just rubs me off the wrong way, and I get the feeling your sister is not being entirely truthful to me. That's not even taking into question the fact that two siblings both won the same lottery to be present for this event." The moment Cole said it he noticed that the both of them froze and Silas really couldn't raise his head or voice again, Cole smiled and just like that he had all the initiative.

"Keeping to yourselves is the right thing to do, but you both might want to stop letting other people know that the both of you are related. Hacking or whatever means you both used to be present in the game would summarily get you both banned and arrested, at that point it doesn't matter who you are connected to, there will be no saving the both of you. Neural Networking is a tricky business, so no still standing government or the galactic council would tolerate people tampering with it. I'll kept your secret but since I can draw the dots it means someone else can too. You both should be ready to leave your current location in a real world week or less, depending on how my talks to. Keeping you in transit would be better at keeping the authorities off you until I can cover you tracks better or get done with the bloody floor.

So you both work your ass for me, heck put your damn lives on the line too. Cause you both will be costing me a lot of money, and I intend to get my money's worth. Now you guys should go get ready for a raid, it is going to take everything we all have to survive and win it."
