Chapter 122 122: The Teams

Cole had somewhat of a phobia when it came to crowds, but that was not because he was scared of people in general or a fear speaking to crowds. Not it had rather come from his inability to trust crowds of people and how he had been lectured and schooled from. A young age to also be wary of. Roads as an assassin could very well be lurking within.

He was just as ready and prepared for anything, but with the variety of abilities there were to be had, there was no telling who or what could be used to counter him and his abilities, so he had the meeting with his back against one of the Glade pillars. Never the less the matter at hand was one that needs to be addressed, whether he liked it or not, he had to make sure everyone was on the same page.

"many of you are dissatisfied with how things had turned out, I'm here to let you know that I don't care and what your opinions might be about me holding this temporary post would be. I frankly speaking have bigger things to worry about and in some cases that is actually true. So as long as none of you do anything to jeopardize my plans and the Solitude's growth, we are not going to have a problem.

Never the less the matter at hand is a lack of any proper growth in the front or making sure we are getting this Glade up to snuff. Everyone here is a bad ass in their own right and most of you would definitely not be willing to get down and dirty and work just like the rest of us, but there are threatens out there right now that would do worse things to you than just have you lose an extra life.

There would be single gathering teams of five per person released into the forest. For the next day, the wood gathering quota of each of those teams is 10k units of wood. That would be all you are expected to do, the rest of us here would then be split into three men hunting teams that would be attached to the vicinity of the gathering teams. The hunting teams have a quota of making sure there is at least 10 Mana Cores per person.

Every other resource should be ignored at this point as all we want to do is make sure that we have enough of the basic wood and Mana Core resource to held the Glade grow. This way it would also reduce the population of the current Darkling population so that things would be easier on us when we go to clear out the nest in the first ring.

The next order of business would have to be slaying of the dragon that has been terrorizing us all here lately. I am going out to hunt it and would like volunteers who are not afraid of losing an extra life and will not run with their tails in. Between their legs when the going gets tough. But be aware I only accept people who have all their stats in the iron rank, your level doesn't matter, though it being on the high side would be very much welcomed.

I'm only accepting five people to this team, just like the highest contributors tab in the Glade's interface. So ultimately it has to be the best of the best within the Glade and it has to people that are not so worried about the constraints of having to lose a life this low on the floors when there are 22 more to go.

I need fighters not gamers, true warriors that can and should at least make this farce of a community mean something by standing against that monster so that the rest of you can play your part and make sure we are all safe and progressing nicely to the next floor. I do believe that regardless of your feeling about me that most of you agree with me on this?" Cole asked as he fell silent.

The crowd observed for a moment before the three eyed elf woman… or was she some sort of angle when you considered the wings. Either way she stepped forwards and following not too far behind her was Farida. The next person to come was literally a bird head? Birdman? Bird person? An anthromorphic bird dressed in black basic clothes like the rest of them, with plumage so dark it seemed to be swallowing all of the lights and sound around him.

Then much to Cole's annoyance and shock Thunderbolt-Jack stepped out too. The orc held his gaze firefly for a few seconds before he brought his head down and decided to speak up, the heavy tone of implied guilt making it a little too hard for him to speak loud enough. But Cole was not stupid, even after everything that had happened and him making himself seem like the bad guy, Xerxes99 and Thunderbolt-Jack were already being seen as untrustworthy and selfish pricks who only cared about themselves.

"I made a bad call World Breaker, at the moment when it mattered the most I took the easy way out, and even if this was no game in realm of me just trying to be a decent human being, I should never have ran away, not even looking back once. It was extremely wrong of me and I would very much like to try my best to rectify whatever bad blood has been laid down between the both of us. Let me redeem myself, I have the power and the levels, it would just be foolish to not utilize me where I'm needed."

There was a smattering of agreement coming from the crowd gathered behind him. He had used a few simple words to buy sympathy for himself. And Divyat could see it clear as day, the aloof and gentle demeanor the lightning wielding orc had was just a front of the calculating strategist beneath. Cole could actually work with that, as long as it would be properly directed in whatever direction Cole asked it to face.

Then another woman stepped forwards, a variation of an orc just like Thunderbolt-Jack. She tapped his shoulder before turning to face Cole with a smile and quick how. Cole sent them a party invite, and just like that he had his strike team, and what everyone else did not know, the ruling council for the Glade.

"Look Over your stats and take care of whatever needs you might have, the gathering teams and hunting teams would be arranged within the next hour, and after that we're moving out to go hunt a dragon…. Make sure to bring your A Game."
