Chapter 121 121: Glade Rank Up

CHAPTER 121:

After Cole asked who was next there was absolutely no response to be gained from anyone else. He did not have to do so much, he had already proven his point, and just going up there to kill the remnants of his challengers would not foster any sort of goodwill with the rest of the aspirants in the Glade.

And not that he gave two fucks about any goodwill, but he had been brought up very differently and he had to find a way to deal with the people beneath him. Because Ultimately there was still a lot more of them and just a single one of him, if he pushed too far he would not be able to put them in their place as there would be a revolt, he did not have anyone else to trust, so it would be better to err on the side of caution.

Cole felt his senses tingle, as he walked forwards and stepped last the boundary of the Glade, and just in time too as the dragon he had a run in blasted out of the trees and gobbled the remaining aspirants in an extremely nerve wracking scene. The beast paused as it took slow steady bites, locking eyes with Cole as it seemed intent in letting him know that he was a target.

Cole on the other hand walked forwards and then flung a [Chaos Blast] through the boundary that landed right on the nose of the dragon. The ensuing explosion was enough to gouge out a massive pound of flesh from the side of it's chest. The dragon. Roared out in pain and released it's breath attack against the screen, then it smashed it's body against it, again and again, clawing and scratching in order to get to Cole, but he remained impassive to it's acts.

Then he turned away without a hint of fear and walked up to the closes glade pillar. By this point even with the lack of unity there should have gathered enough to upgrade the Glade to the next stage, and he was right.

The resource gathering quest was a chain quest and it had been updated to require 3000 Wood and Stone along with 150 Mana cores, and 30 bronze Prisms in order to level it up to Bronze Rank IV. He was impressed though that Farida had been able to successfully deal with and raise the level of the Glade twice even when she couldn't get the rest of these fools under control.

Unfortunately they were lacking in wood and stone to get level up required. However with what has come forth, especially with his contribution it would not take too long for them to gather what they needed. Especially as long as he could keep a firm grip on everyone here. But never the less there were things that could be done about the Glade right now, with two level ups it had 20 glade points available to be spent, and he could use that to improve certain aspects of the Glade.

And from what he was seeing here, those stats could unlock facilities and blueprints that could be used to improve the lives of those living here. But never the less their time here was not about improving the lives of anyone. Basic amenities would be required yes, but in the long run what they need was what would help them survive and get through this floor faster because as it stands, it was just a feeling but Cole did not think that requirements to get the Glade up to a settlement was what would take them all up to the next floor.

But seeing as there were points then they would have to be used. It before that Cole gave the Glade Interface a cursory glance and noticed that it's energy had dropped to a 150 points from the original 1200. He felt his heart grow cold as he realized that the reason why the energy had dropped was because of the dragon that had been attacking the boundary.

Cole felt like a complete fool as he had been antagonizing the creature not knowing that he was putting himself and the rest of the aspirants in danger by trying to be stupid. Also it seems to level ups the Glade had undergone had added extra 100 points of energy to it, Cole had almost bit the bullet in an attempt to look cool and badass…. Never again.

He sunk 10 points into Glades defense, it caused a rippled through the entire glade as the Glade itself seemed to grow a bit wider and clearer, the flowers present became a whole lot more vibrant. He nodded his head as another screen popped up just soon after.

[Defense Has Increased From Bronze Rank I >> II! Basic Spike Walls Unlocked! 1000 Unit Of Wood Required For Construction! Commence?]

Cole raised an eyebrow, this was rapidly turning out to be like some RTS game, and frankly speaking he was a hit worried. While there were a lot of speculations, but depending on the RTS there could be a dozen different ways to improve. He nodded his head and sank the remaining ten points into attack.

[Attack Has Increased From Bronze Rank I >> II! Basic Arrow Tower Unlocked! 200 Units Of Wood, 5 Mana Cores and 1 Bronze Rank Prisms Required For Construction. Commence?]

Luckily enough for Cole he had enough resources on hand to commence the construction for both buildings. So he had them start it before taking one last look at the state page. After this he had to arrange with Farida and get everyone here to work, and the. He had to get a raid team to deal with that dragon and then make a move on the nest.
