Chapter 127: Wine and Jin Yuan

Apart from work-related social engagements, Zhou Muxian rarely drinks alcohol. However, when he came across a Chinese-owned bar in a foreign land, he was intrigued.

The landlady of the bar was a woman in her early thirties, dressed in a plain linen garment with a buttoned collar. She exuded a gentle and refined beauty, like that of a chrysanthemum.

Perhaps she was an unmarried older sister, as she wore no rings on her slender and delicate fingers, and her figure was slim and elongated, with no signs of having given birth.

And the alcohol in the bar was as beautiful as the landlady.

There were not many strong liquors, but mostly clear and sweet wines.

Peach blossom wine and plum wine were the specialties here.

Zhou Muxian had been worried about where to take Jin Yuan for dinner that night, but now he had found a good place.

In Venice, gazing at the foreign scenery, sitting in a small wooden bar filled with traditional Chinese furniture, ordering two pitchers of wine along with dishes of sauced beef, fried peanuts, fish-flavored eggplants, and spicy chicken cubes, there was a surreal feeling of being outside of his surroundings.

Through the glass window, there is a long corridor outside, next to a river. On the other side of the river is a Baroque-style building.

In front of them is a table made of imitation yellow rosewood, very characteristic chinese traditional blue and white porcelain, and a small black glazed wine jar. Together with everything outside, it is truly unique.

The degree of the peach blossom wine and plum wine is not high. It has a slightly spicy and sweet taste on the palate, which is more interesting than the fragrant and sweet wine.

Jin Yuan took a small sip. He didn’t have much energy for drinking. He had drunk a little beer many years ago, but only a little bit. Trying the peach blossom wine was really fresh for him.

Zhou Muxian sat opposite him, and it was clear that he was good at drinking. He drank a few sips without changing his expression.

According to Zhou Muxian’s drinking capacity, this small jar was nothing to him.

The two of them chatted aimlessly, with only a few words about their hometown in common.

The dishes at this small restaurant gave people a sense of magical belonging. They were not particularly delicious, but when they tasted it, it was very similar to the home-cooked dishes in the north of the country. It was clear that they were made with care.

Zhou Muxian watched as the person who had barely had a few sips of wine, gradually a faint blush appeared on their face.

Jin Yuan’s skin was fair and clean, with a slight flush on his cheeks, making him look softer overall. Coupled with his pure eyes, he appeared much younger.

Zhou Muxian was a bit puzzled, wondering if this peach blossom wine could really make “people’s faces match the color of peach blossoms” as the saying goes!

The person who was already a little drunk couldn’t handle it anymore. He felt he hadn’t overindulged, just had a small drink, but his head was getting more and more dizzy, and the person in front of him seemed increasingly unclear.

When Zhou Muxian went to settle the bill, Jin Yang rested his slightly flushed face on his arm, intending to take a quick break and nap.

But his body defied his intentions, and with just a short moment of rest, drowsiness swept over him and he didn’t wake up.

When Zhou Muxian returned, the other person was already fast asleep on the table.

Fortunately, when Jin Yuan was drunk, he didn’t cry, make a scene, or vomit everywhere. He just slept quietly on the table, looking very well-behaved.

Zhou Muxian put his phone into his pocket and looked at the sleeping person, with a genuine smile on his face.

He didn’t know how he had developed the feeling of being a father looking at his son, finding the person increasingly adorable.

Although Jin Yuan was not younger than him, nor was he a child.

Helplessly, Zhou Muxian gently touched Jin Yuan’s face, “Wake up.”

The sleeping person didn’t respond, so Zhou Muxian had to carry him out of the bar’s door.

As the lights came on and the moon rose, Zhou Muxian walked on the street carrying the sleeping person, talking to him as if he was awake.

“You should have told me that you can’t drink, why are you so shy and not willing to refuse? Why did you insist on coming to the bar with me? It’s a good thing you met me, a good person. If you met someone with a bad heart, wouldn’t you be cheated of your money and taken advantage of…”

The person on his back was sound asleep, and there was only him on the way, muttering softly.

Fortunately, the bar was not far from the hotel, otherwise Zhou Muxian couldn’t have handled it.

When he arrived at the hotel, he swiped his room card and placed Jin Yuan on the bed, finally letting out a sigh of relief. It had been years since he had done such physical labor, but it was fortunate that he had the habit of exercising regularly. He would lift weights and keep fit when he had nothing to do, not to build muscles but just for the sake of staying healthy. It turned out that his efforts were not in vain.

He went to the bathroom and soaked a towel, wringing out the water before taking it out. He was about to wipe Jin Yuan’s face when he realized that he had used cold water earlier. If he used the wet towel now, it would only make Jin Yuan feel colder, so he put the towel aside.

Jin Yuan slept quietly, maintaining the position that Zhou Muxian had placed him in on the bed. His eyebrows were slightly furrowed, but he looked innocent. Zhou Muxian thought of Jin Yuan’s face and realized that the two brothers didn’t look very alike. At first glance, they did look similar, but the more they interacted, the more he felt that they were worlds apart.

Although he hadn’t had much contact with Jin Yang, he felt that Jin Yuan was much cuter than his younger brother. Zhou Muxian pulled the blanket over the sleeping person and placed him in a comfortable position. Then he sat on a sofa next to the bed and played with his phone.

It was still early, just after 8 o’clock, but the little bit of wine didn’t seem to affect him. Zhou Muxian took out his phone and looked through the chat history with his online friend.

Jin Yuan on the internet is more pure, less restrained, and likable than in real life.

Zhou Muxian alternated between looking at his phone and the sleeping person, and after a while, he had a bold idea: Sleeping in those stiff clothes must be uncomfortable, right?

According to his habit, he always wore pajamas to sleep, or he wouldn’t be able to rest assured.

Zhou Muxian, considerate and thoughtful, took out his own set of pajamas and placed it on the bedside. Then he opened the blanket, undid his buttons, and took off his belt…

When the drunken person suddenly sat up and met Zhou Muxian’s gaze, he had just pulled the pants down to his knees. Jin Yuan woke up suddenly, scaring Zhou Muxian, who instinctively pounced on him and pressed him down.

Two pairs of eyes, one flustered and the other drunk, were intertwined, and the person beneath asked, “What are you doing?”
