Chapter 72: Fill Up a Little Bit More

“I don’t have time to talk about this and that with you. I just want to ask you, why would you stop doing your business and run to act in movies at your age?”

Zhou Hang was sitting with his legs crossed, swinging on the table. “You don’t understand. In life, you need to experience different things.”

“Come on, let me make it clear to you. If you are still chasing after Li Lingling, it’s not necessary. If you think you can’t live without her, then go after her. Don’t make a fuss about it. If you don’t like her, then it’s clear that it’s impossible in this lifetime. Just stop bothering about it.”

If someone else said this, it would have hurt Zhou Hang’s feelings, but Zhou Mushi and Zhou Hang’s relationship was closer than that of brothers. They could talk about anything except for sleeping together. Zhou Hang knew that his brother was sincerely advising him, so he replied, “Alright, I know what I’m doing.”

Zhou Mushi thought to himself, “If I trust you now, that would be strange. If you had any sense of measure, would you leave your company unattended and run to the entertainment industry?”

“You do what you think is best. After you’re done playing, come back quickly. Don’t wander around in other people’s circles.”

After chatting for a few more minutes, Zhou Mushi hung up the phone when he arrived at the entrance of his apartment complex.

When Father Zhou was picking a house, he was immediately drawn to the environment of this community, which had very good landscaping. Although his troublesome son didn’t seem to enjoy sitting downstairs, whenever he came home and walked on the community’s tree-lined path, it always made him feel particularly comfortable.

Jin Yang came downstairs wearing a jacket to pick him up. The two smiled at each other and walked home together.

After nine o’clock, the community became particularly quiet. It had been a long time since these two had walked slowly in such an environment. The sound of their footsteps and the rustling of the leaves in the dark night could help relax their tense nerves.

Someone riding a bike rushed past them, making Zhou Mushi’s soul just getting ready to float freely with the wind suddenly shrink back into his body with a whoosh.

Before he could react, he was pulled back a step by someone, and crashed into a warm and broad chest.

The moon was bright in the sky, and the ground seemed to be covered in a thin mist, clear and hazy, as if in a dream.

Under his palm, he could feel a lively and strong heartbeat, thumping, thumping, thumping, echoing under the warm breath and dark eyes, inexplicably making his ears turn red.

Zhou Mushi was not sure how this imperceptible and inexplicable palpitation formed. Perhaps it was because he had not observed a person so carefully in a very long time, carefully enough to use his gaze to depict a person’s nose, to sense a person’s breath with his skin, to feel a person’s heartbeat with his palm.

Zhou Mushi considered himself knowledgeable and experienced in the world, but after more than twenty years, he had only been in a romantic relationship with one man. Despite having done intimate things together, why did he still feel such a strange and uneasy feeling, which could be described as nothing short of eerie?

“Mushi.”

These two words passed through Zhou Mushi’s ears, and he quickly peeled himself off the other person, trying his best to appear nonchalant.

“Do you want to eat strawberries? I saw some fresh ones at the fruit shop near the entrance of the community just now.”

Zhou Mushi tried to connect his brain with the rational part of himself.

“Let’s buy them tomorrow. They’ve been out all day, and they’re probably what other people didn’t pick.” he said, walking a bit fast, as if his soul didn’t want to drift out and waver.

When he arrived at his doorstep, he carefully took out his key and unlocked the door. As he thought about how the house was bought by both families, he started to imagine whether his father had secretly kept a spare key and would come to check on him anytime.

Upon thinking about it, there is a strange feeling that I am still a child who misbehaves and sneaks out at night without telling my parents, and then returns home trembling with fear of being caught.

In my mind, I even imagine my dad holding a cigarette and a good belt, standing in the living room waiting to greet me, followed by scenes of being beaten while hanging from the ceiling.

Fortunately, when the door opened, there was no one in the living room, the lights were on, and the two of them heated up the bought food in the microwave, had a simple dinner, took a shower, and went to bed.

Jin Yang has never been so close to Zhou Mushi before today.

He clung to Zhou Mushi like a newborn baby, nestling beside him, eyes open in the dark, seeming anxious but also somewhat at ease.

“Mushi, would you reject me because I have money?”

Zhou Mushi: “…I don’t think I dislike money that much.”

Jin Yang seemed to have perceived some special meaning and let out a sigh of relief.

In the darkness, he found Zhou Mushi’s lips and kissed him accurately.

Jin Yang’s lips were a little cool, and they lightly and slowly brushed against Zhou Mushi’s lips, as if they were precious and rare. Or perhaps, they had all the time in the world to savor each other’s taste.

In the concealment of the night, some of the years could always be hidden. Jin Yang’s cautiousness reminded Zhou Mushi of their not-so-pleasant first night.

To be honest, Jin Yang was already careful enough back then, but due to his youthful arrogance and inexperience, their physical sensations were not that great.

Fortunately, there was great satisfaction in their souls, which could slightly make up for the trauma.

But now, the experienced driver was not the same as before. No matter how lightly he unbuttoned Zhou Mushi’s sleepwear or how gently he kissed his skin, he did not leave any room for Zhou Mushi to control his voice. When he kissed a certain part of him, Zhou Mushi’s ears would suddenly turn red.

Jin Yang felt happy because he could control Zhou Mushi’s body.

He loved him, but the missing emotional part could be filled up in the act of sex and love, when he could completely control Zhou Mushi.

Apart from Zhou Mushi, it seems that he can never possess anyone else in this world.

He didn’t have parents before. As for now, it’s as if he still doesn’t have them.

His older brother, who he used to rely on, is no longer just his alone.

He doesn’t have children, nor has he ever had the thought of having children. Jin Yang is a little scared, he doesn’t know how to be a responsible father.

If he hasn’t prepared himself to love a little life wholeheartedly, then why create one?

Only with Mushi, Jin Yang holds this lively body and feels extremely satisfied. He knows that Mushi loves him.
