Chapter 40: Bussiness Trip

The eco-tourism project is going very well. When the project was halfway through, most of the remaining work could be handled by the staff below, and the top management needed to start preparing for other businesses.

Because the collaboration between Yucheng Group and the Zhou family was so pleasant, the chairmen of both companies decided to continue working together on the next project. And so, Jin Yang, the project director of Yucheng Group, still works in the same office with Zhou Mushi.

Since that night when the two of them were fooling around in the office late at night, even though they had clearly stated that they were just friends with benefits, there still seemed to be something not quite right between them. Every now and then, when they were tired from work, they would look up and make eye contact, causing a spark that made them both uncomfortable.

In the middle of all this was Director Li Daqiang, who had noticed that Zhou, the President, had been monitoring their work lately. This made him nervous, so he made sure to be diligent and not slack off, working a day and a half’s worth of work every day.

Zhou Mushi never expected that his next business deal would involve cooperation with Zhou Hang’s company.

It couldn’t have been better between the two of them, which made it extremely reassuring. However, they still had to follow the necessary procedures, which meant that they had to go to F city to inspect the raw materials at Zhou Hang’s company.

For business trips like this, there is an unwritten rule in the company that employees who are already married and have families, whose parents are ill, whose wives are pregnant, or whose children are still young, should be taken care of and not sent on business trips if possible.

Zhou Mushi was aware of Li Daqiang’s family situation, and since Yucheng Group was a third-party company, it was understandable for him to bring Jin Yang along on this trip.

The idea of going on a business trip together used to be completely normal, but after experiencing that office fling, it seems a bit ambiguous.

The two of them packed their luggage and got on the plane. Fortunately, they were not seated next to each other, which made Zhou Mushi feel slightly more comfortable.

After getting off the plane, Zhou Hang’s company had already sent a representative to pick them up. Then they went to the hotel to drop off their luggage and visited some recent raw material suppliers. They were busy with work until the evening when the lights came on.

Zhou Mushi declined the invitation from the host to have dinner, as he was already tired from a long day of work. He found it difficult to deal with a dinner party at this point and politely declined with an excuse.

However, Jin Yang was used to this kind of situation, and as a partner, it was not appropriate for them to refuse an invitation to dinner. So he decided to represent them and attend the dinner alone.

After a busy day, Zhou Mushi felt inexplicably exhausted. He took a quick shower, put on a bathrobe, and lay down on the bed. He took out his phone and instantly felt a sense of liberation in his soul.

This kind of extra comfortable moment made him feel like time was passing by so quickly. When there was a knock on the door, the sky outside was already completely dark.

Zhou Mushi jumped up from the bed, and his heart raced with each knock on the door.

When you are away from home, it may seem understandable to have a “f*** buddy” come to your room at night.

He straightened his bathrobe and took two deep breaths before walking towards the door. He gathered up his courage and opened the door, and there was a man dressed in a suit standing outside. Before Zhou Mushi could even ask any questions, the man, who was clearly drunk, threw himself onto him.

“Why did you get so drunk?” he asked, furrowing his brow.

The man was stuck in his embrace, messing up the collar that Zhou Mushi had just straightened. His cheek was rubbing against Zhou Mushi’s smooth neck, and he was sniffling and sobbing.
