CH 74

The kindergarten that the two babies attended was affiliated with the best elementary school locally. After advancing from kindergarten to elementary school, most of the students did not change.

Feng Ci’s position as boss also did not change. 

However, the thoughts of elementary students were much more complicated than kindergarteners.

More specifically, Feng Ci started to receive love letters and snacks from classmates every few days.

He never took these things seriously. After receiving the love letters, he’d throw them away immediately while keeping the snacks to feed Pei Qianyue, who was a lower grade than himself.

Pei QianYue liked to eat sweets. Feng Ci knew this a long time ago. 

In kindergarten, Feng Ci was the most well-liked child in class. Other little kids often brought candy and dessert from home to give to him. Every time this happened, Pei QianYue would stare silently at Feng Ci. In Feng Ci’s eyes, this naturally meant he wanted to eat it but felt too embarrassed to say anything. Therefore, everytime he received candy, he’d secretly save them for Pei QianYue.

In elementary school, he started picking out Pei QianYue’s favorite snacks from the ones that his classmates gave him. On their way home after school, he’d give them to Pei QianYue.

It can’t be helped. Who let these two babies be around the period of switching teeth.

But trouble still occurred.

The source of this incident was because Feng Ci received a love letter that wasn’t for him.

The other party was a female student in the same grade as Feng Ci from the neighboring classroom. She had refined and pretty looks. With a reddened face, she handed a light pink letter and a huge box of candy to Feng Ci.

Feng Ci frowned: “For Pei QianYue?”

“En.” The female student seemed extremely embarrassed. The words that she spoke were practically inaudible: “So, sorry to trouble you.” 

Feng Ci looked at the thing in the female student’s hand and felt complicated.

Pei QianYue had good looks even in kindergarten. It was the same after he grew up some more. His face was extremely attractive. Whenever he came to Feng Ci’s classroom to play with him, Feng Ci could find a lot of people secretly looking at him.

They could only find the person with the best relationship with him in school, Feng Ci.

This day, Pei QianYue just happened to be on school duty. When Feng Ci went downstairs to find him, he was currently erasing the blackboard.

During these last two years, Pei QianYue grew extremely quickly, like stretching a Chinese cruller. Pei QianYue, who was still half a head shorter than Feng Ci in kindergarten, was now almost as tall as Feng Ci. 

Feng Ci stopped walking and leaned against the door frame, looking at him.

After entering elementary school, Pei QianYue cut his hair short and neat. As he grew older gradually, the soft contours of his face faded and became more handsome and dashing with a bit of youthful air.

Indeed very attractive.

As if noticing his gaze, Pei QianYue turned his head and saw Feng Ci.

Spinning a pen in one hand and propping his chin up with the other hand, Feng Ci focused his gaze completely on the busy figure in front of him. However, whenever Pei QianYue looked up at him in bewilderment, Feng Ci would always shift his gaze away nonchalantly.

“Is this candy for me?” Unwittingly Pei QianYue had stepped up behind him and made a questioning noise.

Stunned briefly, Feng Ci finally noticed that when he grabbed the practice book, he had accidentally exposed the candy box that he casually stuffed into his schoolbag. Under this box, was also that light pink letter.

Pei QianYue didn’t accept it.

He stared at Feng Ci, leaned closer, and said quietly: “But I want to eat candy.”

“No.” Feng Ci had a very firm and resolute attitude. He placed the chocolate in Pei QianYue’s hand and said seriously: “This tastes even better. It’s imported. Eat this one…… be good.”

Pei QianYue continued to stare at Feng Ci. 

After a long time, he finally withdrew his gaze and acknowledged very, very quietly: “…… Alright.”

His tone sounded strangely downcast.

Seeing him like this, Feng Ci felt somewhat guilty again. However, Pei QianYue didn’t give him a chance to explain and said first: “I’m all done. Let’s go.”

Feng Ci’s mother just happened to have a day off today, so Feng Ci didn’t need to eat at Pei QianYue’s house. Since the two babies advanced into elementary school, they no longer needed an adult to pick them up and drop them off. As usual, Pei QianYue took Feng Ci to the public bus stop.

What he didn’t see was that after he left on the bus, Pei QianYue took out the chocolate in his bag and with a heavy face, he threw it in the trashcan by the roadside without even looking at it.

Feng Ci didn’t want to give the girl’s gift to Pei QianYue, but he also didn’t dare to really throw away someone else’s gift to Pei QianYue. Pissed off with nowhere to vent, he could only throw his temper onto the box of candy. 

That night, Feng Ci angrily ate the entire box of candy.

And then successfully got himself admitted into the hospital for a toothache.

Feng Ci called out and didn’t go to school. After school, Pei QianYue could only return home by himself. After he left the school gate, he opened his cellphone and immediately received Feng Ci’s text.

This was a very beautiful girl who also dressed very meticulously. Because of her fluctuating emotions, the rims of her eyes were slightly red. She was so angry, she trembled nonstop.

Pei QianYue vaguely remembered that this should be the prettiest girl in school.

But he couldn’t remember her name. 

The words that the campus beauty spoke were venomous, but her expression was very aggrieved, as if she was about to start crying any moment. Seeing her like this, the students next to her swiftly hugged and comforted her quietly.

Although Feng Ci was only in 4th grade, he developed very quickly and was almost the same height as the senior class students. No one in the entire school dared to provoke him. The only reason they dared pick a fight today was actually because they were taking advantage of the fact that Feng Ci called out and didn’t come to school.

Who would have expected this person to actually appear outside the school gates after school. 

No one noticed Pei QianYue smiling softly where he stood behind Feng Ci.

Feng Ci released his grip and basically didn’t even look at her. He turned his head to ask Pei QianYue: “Are you alright?”

After saying this, he grabbed Pei QianYue and started to leave.

The campus beauty cried even harder. A senior student couldn’t watch this anymore and cursed: “Isn’t this all because the campus beauty likes you. Do you have to treat her like this for a man? What, is that guy your lover? How disgusting are you guys?” 

Feng Ci stopped walking.

He let go of Pei QianYue’s hand, turned around, and without any explanation at all,  kicked the guy who was talking in the stomach.

Feng Ci’s status as the school tyrant has not changed from kindergarten to elementary school. He was tall and had innate athletic skills that far surpassed people of his own age. In a fight, even the senior students weren’t a match for him. Fighting one against the group, he still beat those senior students black and blue. Ultimately, they could only scramble away in defeat.

It can’t be helped. They were the ones who first surrounded Pei QianYue and they were senior students. Even if they told the teachers, they won’t get anything good out of it. 

Pei QianYue went to the convenience store to buy some bandaids. Tugging over Feng Ci’s hands, he carefully stuck them on for Feng Ci.

When boys of this age got into fights, they didn’t know how to control their strengths. Although Feng Ci didn’t lose out on this fight, he still received some minor injuries.

With his head down, Pei QianYue helped him treat the wounds on his hand. Feng Ci slowly felt somewhat guilty in the aftermath and asked him: “Are……are you alright?”

Pei QianYue didn’t even lift his head: “I wasn’t the one who was fighting, what could be wrong with me?” 

“I’m not talking about that.” Feng Ci completely lacked confidence at this moment and said quietly: “I beat them up today so they definitely won’t dare say that about you in the future. Don’t…… don’t take it to heart, alright.”

Pei QianYue: “I won’t.”

However, this was…… really not a very easy matter to explain.

Probably because Feng Ci didn’t answer for a long time, Pei QianYue let go of his hand and got up: “Let’s go home.” 

Right now, they were currently sitting on a long bench next to the river. Seeing Pei QianYue about to leave, Feng Ci reached out and grabbed him: “Wait, I’ll talk, alright?”

“That wasn’t given to me. It’s someone…… someone asked me to give it to you.”

Pei QianYue: “I won’t be accepting it. If someone comes to you in the future, you can help me throw them all away.”

Feng Ci hesitated somewhat: “That doesn’t seem right?” 

“It’s fine.”

In any case, he has already forgotten how many gifts and letters he had thrown away which were supposed to be given to Feng Ci.

Pei QianYue straightened up and extended a hand towards Feng Ci: “Let’s go home to eat.”

This not-very-important episode passed by just like this. The rest of the semester, sure enough, no one came to cause trouble for Pei QianYue again. The only change was that Pei QianYue had, for some unknown reason, suddenly become very hardworking. His grades jumped from the original mid-upper rank all the way to number 1.

In a blink of an eye, the school year ended and a new semester started. Pei QianYue, who had outstanding grades, was allowed to jump up a grade, directly transferring into Feng Ci’s class.
