Feng Ci became famous in front of the teachers just like this.

It’s not that he had purposely wanted to expose this secret. However, how could a 5 year old little kid hold anything in? Not to mention, recently Pei QianYue had gained a bit of weight because of him, Feng Ci was indeed very proud of himself. In any case, he was so pleased with himself that he got carried away and accidentally blurted out the secret between Pei QianYue and himself.

The teachers naturally wouldn’t take a little kid’s words too seriously and instead, treated this affair as an amusement to occasionally joke around a bit.

Gradually over time, after a few days, the entire school knew that Feng Ci was Pei QianYue’s wife.

Even when Feng Ci goes to eat lunch with Pei QianYue, he’d get teased one or two sentences by the classmates.

“Starting tomorrow, you can eat by yourself. I won’t be coming over.” One day at lunchtime, Feng Ci said this to Pei QianYue.

Pei QianYue looked up at him.

During these days, this little baby had finally grown a bit of meat after great efforts. His cheeks were chubby with meat. He looked at Feng Ci with a bright and shining gaze, his eyes swiftly turning red.

Pei QianYue didn’t actually like socializing normally. Regardless of falling down or bumping into something, or getting into a fight with classmates, he usually handled things very well. Only when encountering things related to Feng Ci, he’d always start crying easily.

Originally, Feng Ci was already prepared for Pei QianYue’s crying. So when he spoke, he stiffened his neck purposely and refused to look at the other; his eyes staring firmly at the little bowl in front of him.

But Pei QianYue didn’t cry.

He sniffled and said in a small tiny voice: “It wasn’t me who told.”

Pei QianYue knew that Feng Ci didn’t like being teased by other people. For some unknown reason, little Feng Ci stubbornly thought that wives should be girls. He didn’t like others treating him like a girl. Even teasing seemed like mockery to him and made him uncomfortable.

In the end, however, this matter was because Feng Ci himself wasn’t tightlipped enough. It really didn’t have anything to do with Pei QianYue.

It wasn’t his fault.

But Feng Ci didn’t explain and only said gloomily: “I know.”

He held back for quite a while before finally recalling the new word he learned on TV not long ago: “To avoid suspicions.”

Feng Ci only had an amateur grasp of this world. Pei QianYue was probably less knowledgeable about the word’s meaning. However, he could understand the determination in Feng Ci’s words.

He only lowered his head and made a soft ‘oh’.

And didn’t speak again.

The next day, Feng Ci really didn’t go find Pei QianYue. Also Pei QianYue didn’t come find him.

During this period of time, Pei QianYue and Feng Ci interacted very closely with each other. In the past, whenever that child had any issues, the teacher would always ask Feng Ci about the situation. However, during lunch today, there was no news from the other side at all. This meant that everything should be normal for Pei QianYue.

Feng Ci was a bit nervous.

Actually, after he finished speaking with Pei QianYue, he regretted it immediately. However, since he had already said it, and that little idiot didn’t ask him to stay, it’s not like he can take his own words back.

Pei QianYue couldn’t be…… really angry at him, right?

Feng Ci normally behaved very maturely, but in the end, he was only a 5 year old child. Where would he encounter this kind of thing? Pei QianYue didn’t come find him, so he also became a little stubborn and forced himself not to make any inquiries.

He ended up sulking and fuming unhappily the entire lunch period, even refusing to leave the classroom during free time in the afternoon.

Even the teacher became alarmed.

“How come little Feng Ci is unhappy today?” The teacher in charge of the Big class is a young woman who recently graduated. She spoke in a warm and considerate tone: “Is it because of Xiao Yue?”

Hugging a small bear, Feng Ci isolated himself in the corner of the classroom. Hearing this name, the light in his eyes flickered briefly.

“No.” He turned his head and said in a muffled tone: “It has nothing to do with him.”

This behavior was practically a guilty self-confession.

The teacher patiently advised: “This teacher knows that you guys have a good relationship, but you can’t stop playing with the other kids just because he didn’t come to school today.”

4:30pm, a lot of adults stood at the entrance of the kindergarten waiting to pick their kids up. Feng Ci followed the line and walked out of kindergarten. He was just getting to leave when the teacher called out to him.

“Little Feng Ci, your mom didn’t come today either?”

Carrying a little backpack, Feng Ci nodded: “En, Mama said tonight she will return very late so I should return home myself.”

Little Feng Ci’s family clan had a very distant relationship. His father also accidentally passed away not long after he was born. The other relatives really didn’t visit much. Only his mother was left to raise him. However, because she was usually busy with work, Feng Ci always went to school and returned home by himself from a very young age. There was no guardian to pick him up or drop him off.

The teacher instructed: “Hurry up and get home then. Don’t run around randomly.”

Feng Ci: “I got it.”

He agreed rather straightforwardly, however, after turning the corner under the teacher’s attentive gaze, he stopped.

Even the teacher who brought him to the exit didn’t notice that Feng Ci held a piece of paper in his hand.

Pei QianYue’s address was written on the paper.

The kindergarten had detailed records of every child’s household address. Feng Ci had no difficulty acquiring this.

But the question was…… what was written on here?

The 5 year old child still hasn’t learned many words yet. He didn’t know half of the words in the short single row of address that’s written on the paper. Feng Ci looked at that paper slip, his chubby little face scrunched up into a ball. After contemplating in the same place for a moment, he suddenly thought of something and started walking towards a direction.

Since birth, Pei QianYue’s health hasn’t been very good. He’s seen many doctors but couldn’t figure out any major issue. He’s just naturally born weak, falling sick easily every few days.

This time it was most likely because he caught a cold. Feverish for an entire day, it wasn’t until almost evening that the temperature finally lowered slightly. Pei QianYue woke up in a daze. As soon as he opened his eyes, he saw a familiar figure clinging to his bedside.

Pei QianYue blinked a few times in bewilderment, as if thinking he was still dreaming.

Feng Ci had moved a small stool to sit next to his bedside. One of Feng Ci’s hands was still stretched into the blanket and holding onto his own hand. Who knew how long he had already waited here. He was currently nodding off.

With a slight movement from Pei QianYue, he woke up immediately.

“You’re awake.” Feng Ci didn’t even dare to speak too loudly.

Pei QianYue’s cheeks were still stained red. The meat that he grew in the last few days seemed to have disappeared completely overnight. Wrapped up in blankets, he looked like a tiny little ball, completely dumbfounded.

“You……” He opened his mouth, voice still a bit hoarse.

“Don’t move randomly.” Feng Ci pressed him down: “Is there somewhere that still feels uncomfortable?”

Pei QianYue looked at him, not speaking.

Feng Ci gazed back at him for a moment and wanted to get up to walk outside. However, Pei QianYue pulled him back.

The little child had a fever and was drenched with sweat. Even his palm was dripping, but he still grabbed Feng Ci with force: “Don’t go. I won’t brag to others about you being my wife ever again. Don’t go……”

Feng Ci froze briefly.

Pei QianYue was clearly confused and muddle-headed from the fever. His voice sounded weak and without energy, soft and slightly hoarse.

Feng Ci slowly understood the meaning of his words and bent down in front of Pei QianYue to ask: “Only if you tell me everyone you’ve told?”

“Umm……” Pei QianYue counted the names with his fingers: “A-Hao, Da-Jun, and…… Xiao Pang.”

Feng Ci: “…….”

It was all the little followers who liked him the most in kindergarten. You really know how to pick.

Before Feng Ci could answer, a woman’s voice was heard outside the room: “Xiao Yue is awake?”

A young woman walked inside.

This was the person who had brought Pei QianYue to school on the first day. During this period, it has always been her picking up and dropping Pei QianYue off. Feng Ci originally thought that this was Pei QianYue’s mother, but later on, he learned that this was the nanny that his father hired to take care of him.

Pei QianYue called her Aunty Jiang.

Feng Ci also politely called her “Aunty Jiang,” and voluntarily moved aside to allow Aunty Jiang to bend down and check Pei QianYue’s forehead temperature: “The fever went away. Are you still feeling unwell somewhere?”

Pei QianYue shook his head: “No.”

As soon as he finished speaking, his stomach grumbled.

His fever started in the morning. After an entire day of illness, he still hasn’t eaten anything.

Aunty Jiang smiled: “Aunty Jiang made congee. I will go scoop some up for you right now. Xiao Ci, can you help me take care of him for a while?”

Feng Ci nodded his head heavily: “Okay.”

Aunty Jiang left again, leaving the two kids alone inside the room.

Pei QianYue’s thoughts finally cleared up. He buried half of his face inside the blankets, not daring to speak as he stared unblinkingly at Feng Ci.

Looking extremely guilty.

Feng Ci purposely teased him and asked with a stern face: “Is there nothing you want to say to me?”

“I’m sorry.” Pei QianYue’s voice was somewhat muffled as he said obediently: “It wasn’t on purpose. I didn’t know that they’d spread it.”

His appearance at this moment was extremely cute and well behaved. Feng Ci helped Pei QianYue tuck in the blankets and spoke honestly as well: “It wasn’t because of you.”

Feng Ci’s little followers normally listened to his words the most. They wouldn’t casually spread gossip about him.

The problem should still be what he had let slip in front of the teachers.

Feng Ci recounted the details of what happened to Pei QianYue. The latter listened quietly and then said in a small voice: “So…… in the future, you won’t be coming to find me?”

His expression was extremely pitiful and sulky.

After experiencing this entire time, how could Feng Ci still be willing to part with Pei QianYue. This person got sick every few days. How could Feng Ci possibly rest assured if he didn’t watch over him every day.

“Forget it. Who cares about them?” Feng Ci huffed: “I’ll be your wife. Anyone dares to talk nonsense in the future, I’ll beat them up.”

Pei QianYue nodded his head heavily: “En!”

After saying this, he recalled something: “But… why would you be here?”

“I came just to see you.” Feeling relieved, Feng Ci fell onto the blankets and rested his head on Pei QianYue’s chest, nuzzling softly: “Your house is really too hard to find. I walked for a long time, so tired……”

Feng Ci had just cut his hair short not long ago. His little head was fluffy and when he rubbed against Pei QianYue’s neck, it felt a bit itchy.

However Pei QianYue didn’t evade and asked quietly: “Did the teacher bring you here?”

“No.” Feng Ci raised his head and looked smug: “I found my way here.”

Pei QianYue blinked in confusion.

Talking about this, Feng Ci became energetic again. He propped up his head and said with a beaming smile: “I asked so many people before finding my way here. However, the streets near here all look alike. I took so many wrong paths. Good thing I met a mister in uniform. He thought I couldn’t find my way home so he brought me nearby directly.”

“When we were downstairs, we just happened to run into Aunty Jiang. Seeing me here, she jumped in fright.”

The place that Pei QianYue lived right now was bought specifically by his family for being near the school district. It actually wasn’t too far from the kindergarten. The car ride probably only took a few minutes. It wasn’t even as far as Feng Ci’s house. However, Feng Ci usually took the public bus when returning home. He couldn’t do that to reach here. Not to mention the little idiot got lost several times before finding his way here. So he actually spent quite the effort.

“That’s right. You even caused me to get reprimanded by the police officer, saying how could I not even watch my own child well.” Holding the dishes, Aunty Jiang walked in and knocked Feng Ci lightly on the head: “I’m just about to give a call to your guardian and the teacher.”

“Don’t, don’t, don’t……” Feng Ci jumped up into a sitting position: “Aunty Jiang, don’t tell anyone. I will get scolded.”

Aunty Jiang remained untouched. Feng Ci turned his head to grab Pei QianYue next: “Hurry and beg for mercy for me.”

“No way.” Pei QianYue looked at Feng Ci and said seriously in his soft hoarse voice: “The teacher should know about this. You didn’t return home after school and ran around outside. So dangerous.”

“Pei XiaoYue, I came specifically to see you. Is this how you treat me?” Feng Ci crossed his arms and searched in his head for the newest words he learned: “You’re so heartless.”

“In, in any case, it’s not allowed.” Pei QianYue most likely didn’t understand the meaning of that word and said with a firm attitude: “You’re not allowed to run around randomly in the future.”

Feng Ci: “Hmph.”

Seeing the two little kids about to get into an argument, Aunty Jiang hastily played mediator: “Xiao Yue is just worried about Xiao Ci’s safety. How about this, if Xiao Ci promises to never run out like this secretly in the future, then Aunty Jiang won’t tell others about what happened today, alright?”

Feng Ci naturally agreed immediately.

Aunty Jiang then asked him: “I heard that you normally go home by yourself. Your guardian never comes to pick you up, right?”

“En.” Feng Ci said: “Mom is very busy.”

Aunty Jiang fell into a thoughtful silence.

“You can live in my house.” Pei QianYue grabbed Feng Ci’s hand: “We can go to school together and return home together, then you won’t run around all over the place.”

Feng Ci blinked: “But……”

He looked up towards Aunty Jiang.

During this period, Feng Ci and Pei QianYue are always stuck together. Aunty Jiang already knew him a while ago and also liked this child very much. However, she was only the nanny after all and couldn’t make the decision.

Aunty Jiang said: “This requires a discussion between Xiao Yue’s mom and dad, and Feng Ci’s mom.”

“I’ll go tell them.” Pei QianYue sat up: “I’ll take responsibility for my own wife!”

“?” Aunty Jiang was stunned: “Your…… what?”

Pei QianYue hastily covered his mouth: “It’s nothing.”

Feng Ci also shook his head: “It’s nothing. Really, it’s nothing……”

Pei QianYue did as he promised. That night, he asked Aunty Jiang to call his parents who were working out of town and tell them about how he wanted to invite Feng Ci to live in their home.

Then his parents made contact with Feng Ci’s mother through the school.

Feng Ci’s mother was a nurse at a hospital. She often worked overnight and didn’t have much time to spend with her child. After the guardians of the two families communicated and with the stubborn insistence of the two babies, they finally reached an agreement.

On schooldays, Feng Ci temporarily lived in Pei QianYue’s house to be dropped off and picked up by Aunty Jiang. On the weekends or vacation, his mother would take him home.

Like this, the two babies started their days of eating and sleeping in the same bed together.

This living arrangement lasted all the way to elementary school.
