I, I’m scared……

Wen Qing cautiously lifted his head, only to see Zhou Zhou with his eyes lowered and staring straight at him, as if to confirm if he was lying or not.

After a long time, Zhou Zhou quietly said, “I’ll wait for you.”

“No, no need.” Wen Qing hurriedly shook his head.

Zhou Zhou lifted the corners of his mouth and said: “It’s fine.”

“No need to be embarrassed.”

Wen Qing wanted to cry without tears. He wasn’t embarrassed.

He was a little scared.

But I also can’t directly tell Zhou Zhou that I’m a little afraid of you, and I don’t want to be alone with you.

Wen Qing racked his brain and finally came up with a reasonable reason. He quietly told Zhou Zhou: “Your, your words will affect me……”

“You should go rest first, don’t wait for me.”

Zhou Zhou still stared at him.

Wen Qing rarely lied. He was nervous that his heart beat wildly, as if it was about to jump out of his chest. Finally, he heard Zhou Zhou hum.

“If something happens, call my name.” Zhou Zhou said.

Wen Qing sighed in relief and nodded. He walked into the bathroom on the first floor and locked the door.

He washed his face with cold water. He looked at himself in the mirror and slowly thought about it.

If players abstain, monsters would appear. If players vote wrongly, there would be chances to ask questions.

In fact, the rules weren’t difficult, but the system kept on blurring the information and misleading them.

Was the guide a name or a specialty?

Or could it be…… was it neither of them?

Wen Qing bit his lip. If the system was deliberately misleading them, it seemed more likely to be neither of them?

“Click——”

The door suddenly moved, slowly opening by a crack.

Wen Qing was so scared that he backed away and vigilantly looked out the door.

There was nobody outside, nor was there anything.

Maybe it was something he couldn’t see.

The word ’monster’ entered his mind again. Wen Qing’s face turned white, and his back was cold.

He stubbornly looked out the door, and tremblingly said, “Is, is there someone?”

“There’s someone.” Yu Xing’s head suddenly popped out from behind the wall, a condescending smirk on his face.

Deliberately tricking him again……

Wen Qing’s lips flattened. Fear, anger, and other emotions intertwined together, and his eyes became slightly hot.

He resisted crying, but as soon as he opened his mouth, his choked words betrayed his emotions. “You, you’re sick……”

The more Wen Qing thought, the angrier he grew. The more he thought, the more aggrieved he became, and tears started

He clearly didn’t do anything.

“Why do you always have to scare me, I didn’t even do anything bad, I didn’t provoke or offend you……”

You did attract and tease me[1], Yu Xing thought.

He looked at Wen Qing. His eyes were wet and red, his eyelashes were stained wet with tears, drooping downwards.

It was still that pitiful look, but for some reason, Yu Xing suddenly felt a little soft-hearted.

He hummed, and slowly said: “I didn’t mean to.”

Wen Qing: “You did it on purpose!”

“I clearly locked the door.”

They were obviously angry and indignant, but because the sobs softened them, they sounded coquettish.

Yu Xing laughed in his heart, and he casually said, “The door wasn’t locked.”

“How can I open it if it’s locked? Are you sure it was locked? Or is the door lock broken?”

Wen Qing’s cries stopped. Yu Xing sounded so sincere, he suddenly wasn’t sure if he had locked the door just now.

After a long time, he sniffled, “I, I don’t know.”

Yu Xing curved his lips. He turned his body sideways and turned the door lock, and told Wen Qing: “The lock seems to be broken. It can’t lock.”

“You can’t blame me for this, right?”

He continued, “

Wen Qing pursed his lips. It seemed to be like this……

He lowered his eyes and whispered, “I’m sorry.”

Yu Xing held back his smile. He grabbed a hanging towel, and tossed it into Wen Qing’s embrace. “Wipe your face, crybaby.”

Wen Qing held onto the corner of the towel, and softly thanked him.

“Thank, thank you.”

Yu Xing leaned against the wall, tilting his head to look at his frail and thin back.

One moment angry, one moment apologising, yet another moment thanking him……

How naive.

Wen Qing wet the towel, wiped his face, and put the towel back on the towel rack. He was about to leave the bathroom when Yu Xing suddenly raised his foot to block his way, and closed the bathroom door.

Yu Xing winked at him, lowered his voice and said, “Do you have any suspects now?”

“I can vote along with you.”

Wen Qing shook his head: “I don’t have any.”

“You still don’t?”

Yu Xing raised his eyebrows, bent down and leaned near Wen Qing. “I didn’t have time to ask you just now, but why don’t you suspect anyone?”

He rarely talked about serious matters. Wen Qing also answered seriously: “Because everyone doesn’t seem like it.”

“First of all, the three people with the god cards are excluded, because your cards are very important and related to finding the guide. Then with the remaining four people, I am not the guide, and Zhou Zhou, Chen Yiyi and Li Si Wen seem to be under lots of pressure, all of them wanting to quickly find the guide.”

Hearing the three words “lots of pressure”, Yu Xing sneered, and asked, “Your meaning is that there is no guide?”

Wen Qing shook his head again. “It’s in the rules, so it means there is.”

“I feel like we’re definitely missing an important clue, but I can’t figure it out.”

Yu Xing whistled and brought his hands up to applaud. “I didn’t think that you would still have some brains even with such small courage.”

Wen Qing: “……”

Was this scolding him or praising him?

Wen Qing was silent for a moment, then asked, “What about you? What do you think?”

“And me……” Yu Zing curved his lips and dragged out the end of his words, “The same as what you’re thinking.”

Wen Qing couldn’t see if he was being perfunctory or if he really thought the same, so he ‘oh’-ed.

He opened his eyes and realised that Yu Xing was still staring at him.

Unlike his previous look of looking at kittens and puppies, the look this time was scrutinising him carefully, like he was trying to find something from his face.

Wen Qing subconsciously touched his face.

Seeing this, Yu Xing laughed, and asked, “What do you feel now?”

Wen Qing’s eyes were a little blank. “What, feel what?”

Yu Xing stared at his light brown eyes for a while. After seeing nothing out of the ordinary, he shrugged, “If you don’t, that’s good.”

Not feeling what was good?

Wen Qing was even more at a loss.

He wanted to ask Yu Xing, but Yu Xing went straight to the toilet, lazily tilted his head to look at him, and made a move to open his bathrobe: “What? Want to look at my big baby?”

Wen Qing: “……”

Yu Xing: “If you look at it, you’ll have to be responsible for me.”

“……”

Wen Qing could only leave the bathroom, helping him close the door.

When he returned to the living room, the living room was empty. There was only the clock hung on the wall that was ticking.

Wen Qing sat on a chair, reluctant to return back to the bedroom.

Seeing it was eleven o’clock, he was also not bold enough to stay in the living room by himself.

That three-headed dog and ghosts in horror movies all appeared at twelve o’clock at midnight.

Wen Qing scared himself that his back became cold. He hurriedly stood up, ran to the second floor and ran inside the study. His steps suddenly stopped.

There was someone in the study.

Someone in there wasn’t weird. What was weird was that the person was Si Kong.

This was the first time Wen Qing saw Si Kong in the study.

Si Kong sat behind the desk, seeming to hear the movement at the door. He raised his head and glanced at Wen Qing. There was none of his usual impatience on his face, but his lips were downturned slightly, and his fierce facial features seemed even chillier.

Wen Qing believed that his footsteps were too loud and disrupting his reading, and hastily apologised quietly.

Si Kong raised his eyelids, got up and walked in front of him.

Si Kong was tall, about 1.8 meters and nearly 1.9 meters. Wen Qing could only reach his chest, and needed to raise his head to look at him.

When he raised his head, Wen Qing couldn’t help but glance at Si Kong’s muscles.

Mm…… very solid.

It felt very oppressive……

He wouldn’t beat him up, right?

He apologised once again: “I’m sorry, I disturbed you.”

“You didn’t.” Si Kong coldly spat out two words.

Wen Qing was stunned: “Then, then you……”

Then you suddenly came over?

He raised his head, and his hair fell onto his forehead naturally, revealing his beautiful and elegant eyebrows. His eyes were a little lost.

A little lamb that had mistakenly wandered into a pack of wolves.

Si Kong frowned, and spat out a sentence, “Stay a little away from them and you can clear.”

After saying this, he left the study.

Wen Qing couldn’t understand. His face was full of question marks.

Who are they?

Stay a little away from who?

Why didn’t everyone speak clearly!

Wen Qing turned around and wanted to find Si Kong to ask for clarification. He had just walked to the door’s entryway, and only saw Zhou Zhou’s figure flash across the bedroom diagonally.

He hurriedly stopped, and returned to the study.

He’d just ask again tomorrow.

Even though he knew evasion wasn’t a solution, Wen Qing couldn’t think of any other way right now. He could only silently pray in his heart that Zhou Zhou would calm down quicker and return to normal.

Wen Qing closed the door of the study, sat on the chair, and leaned on the table to sleep.

After an unknown amount of time, Wen Qing dazedly heard the door to the study open, and someone’s sigh.

He buried his face in his arms. His back was warm, and he fell asleep again before he knew it.

When Wen Qing woke up, there was a thin blanket on his body.

He rubbed his eyes and raised his head. Ji Yu was sitting on the chair next to him, smiled thinly and asked: “Have you slept here all night?”

Wen Qing ‘ah’-ed: “Is it already morning?”

Ji Yu nodded.

Wen Qing sat up straight, the blanket falling from his body.

He lowered his head and folded the blanket properly, and returned it to Ji Yu. He softly said. “Thank you teacher.”

Ji Yu placed the blanket on another chair, and lightly replied: “You’re welcome.”

“Did you find this book?” he reached out his hand and lightly tapped the Chinese book on the table.

Wen Qing glanced at it and shook his head. “No.”

This book was already on the table last night.

The person in the study last night……

“It seems that Si Kong saw it.” Wen Qing said.

“Really,” Ji Yu lightly chuckled. He lowered his eyes to hide the emotions in them, and casually said, “He provided a very important clue.”

What clue?

Wen Qing was stunned, and his eyes fell on the book.

【 God favours young humans the most. They are pure and clean, and they see the world in a beautiful light. 】

【 However, good things are always fleeting. With the passage of time, the evil desires that harm intelligence will gradually infect young humans. In order of severity, from the most serious to the least serious, they are pride, envy, wrath, sloth, greed, gluttony, lust, and depression…… 】

Wen Qing hadn’t finished reading, when Ji Yu suddenly spoke, “Wen Qing, do you feel that everyone has become a little weird?”

Wen Qing’s eyes widened, and he almost cried.

Finally, there was someone normal who felt the same way as him!

He furiously nodded: “Yes, yes.”

Wen Qing leaned against the armrest of the chair, neared Ji Yu, and slowly said: “Gong Yunyun suddenly became irritable, Chen Yiyi suddenly fell apart, and Zhou Zhou…… last night, Li Siwen was also a little strange, a little like Gong Yunyun when she first started.”

Ji Yu half-closed his eyes, looking at the gradually narrowing distance between him and Wen Qing, and smiled. “Do you have any ideas?”

Wen Qing truthfully said, “I’m wondering if everyone’s pressure is too much.”

Ji Yu: “Probably not.”

“Even if the pressure was bigger, it’s still hard to change temperaments in such a short amount of time. They’re too far from when they first started, aren’t they?”

His tone was gentle and calm. Wen Qing seemed to have returned to high school, and the teacher was teaching him to solve problems.

“They are.” Wen Qing nodded, and quietly asked, “Teacher, why is that so?”

Ji Yu raised his hand, then pointed to a few words on the page in order.

Depression.

Wrath.

Envy.

“Currently, these are Chen Yiyi, Gong Yunyun, Zhou Zhou.” he said.

Wen Qing blinked and suddenly understood something. Yet, he was a little confused. “What teacher means is, why would they become like this?”

Ji Yu leaned back on his chair, and continued, “There is something wrong with this villa.”

“It can affect everyone’s mentality, mood, and cause people to be corrupted.”

Wen Qing pursed his lips. This was yet another pit that the system didn’t mention.

He lowered his head, looked at a line of words on the book, and was a little puzzled.

Zhou Zhou’s change was because of envy?

Wen Qing couldn’t help but ask: “Teacher, what does Zhou Zhou envy?”

Ji Yu’s lips curved, and he lightly said: “Perhaps he’s envious of how Yu Xing does as he pleases.”

Envy Yu Xing?

Wen Qing still didn’t quite understand, but just like when he was in class, he nodded even if he didn’t understand.

So Yu Xing was so unrestrained, maybe it was because of this villa?

While he was thinking about it, he suddenly heard Ji Yun say: “Actually, my mood is also a bit strange. I’m indescribably irritable.”

Wen Qing raised his eyes, looked at his elegant appearance, and blankly said. “I couldn’t see it.”

Ji Yu explained, “I am better at mediating my own emotions. After all, there’s too many bad students nowadays.”

Wen Qing gave a low hum.

Ji Yu lifted his eyelids, stared at Wen Qing quietly, and persuaded: “And you?”

What is your desire?

Wen Qing was stunned. He lowered his head, the tips of his ears were red, and he embarrassedly said, “I, I’m scared……”

I want to cry……

The author has something to say:

Wen Qing: QAQ

[1] – the two characters used are 招 and 惹. they can mean provoke and offend, or attract and tease (among other similar meanings). I’m pretty sure this is how it’s supposed to mean, but correct me if I’m wrong.

SV: OHHHH I didn’t even make the connection!! that makes SO much sense now actually! thank god Zhou Zhou will (hopefully) not be a full out yandere as this goes on. he was (second only to WQ) best boy up until he became weird aha. I’m surprised he wasn’t lust though!

still, now that we know, what happened with GYY is…
