Chapter 130

130 Seventh Floor of the Abandoned Research Institute

Thud! Thud! Thud!

As these giant mutated ants kept on dropping to the ground, they all could feel chills from the bottom of their heart. Hundreds or even thousands of these giant mutated ants were all killed even before they could get close.

It was not even a minute!

But these giant mutated ants were already dropped death.

“I feel that the strongest in this group is not Kyle who had reached rank 5 but Little Kitty when she’s angry.” Jake felt that it’s was really difficult to be part of this group when he saw how monstrous the others were.

This made him sometimes feel that he was the weakest in the group.

“Indeed. A woman’s wrath is very terrifying.” Lotte nodded. In her opinion, she felt that she should stop teasing this little cat in fear that she would truly be angry. If Little Kitty decided to go against them, how were they supposed to fight back?

She could directly kill them without any warning!

Thud! Thud! Thud!

.....

Countless giant mutated ants dropped to the ground with Kate’s mad white dots absorption. Because it was directly used to recover her body, she couldn’t control it but at the same time, she didn’t feel full at all.

Even after the pile of rotting corpses were nearly filling the entire floor, Kate still didn’t feel that it was enough. More and more giant mutated ants were killed under Kate’s mad attack.

“Little Kitty,” Kyle called when he saw that these giant mutated ants were already struggling to go forward because many of the now rotting giant mutated ants’ corpses were blocking their way. It felt as if they were being blocked by their own supposed comrades who failed their jobs.

“Meow?”

“Are you not tired? You can let us perform too.” Kyle rubbed Kate’s head. He had allowed her to madly do reverse healing because he knew that his little cat was upset for losing her space. But she had been madly doing the massive reverse healing for more than an hour.

At this moment, there were already countless giant mutated ants’ corpses rotting and lying on the ground. The height of this pile was even taller than their height as it nearly reached the ceiling.

But he didn’t want her to be tired.

“Meow.”

After venting her emotion to these giant mutated ants, Kate had to admit that she was indeed very tired. Even though she was not full, doing this reverse healing still took toll on her mental state.

Looking at the others, Kate stopped doing reverse healing and these giant mutated ants rushed over.

“My turn!” Lotte grinned and stretched her hand. Countless wind blades were formed and killed these giant mutated ants easily as if cutting vegetables.

After a while, Jake, Dylan, and Kyle also took turns to attack these giant mutated ants and eventually their corpses were burned to ashes by Kyle and Lotte used her wind ability to push the ashes towards the broken room. Using them to block the path of these giant mutated ants from entering this place and Jake repaired the wall.

The leftovers were the crystals and they had to collect it manually. After that, they naturally divided the crystals in accordance to their elements.

“Can you still absorb the transparent crystal?” Kyle asked while picking up the crystal and put in on Kate’s paw.

“Meow?”

Kate looked at the crystal on her paw that melted and her eyes shone with surprise. It seemed that she could recover her space after absorbing enough of these crystals. Maybe the healing from before was also to recover her space?

Seeing that the little cat was happy, Kyle took the time to collect the green and transparent crystals to Kate. It was then he realized that some of the transparent crystals were different.

They were still transparent, but there was a faint layer of black color on the outer layer. This made Kyle remembered the black crystals that he had obtained from killing one of the assassins who were trying to kill him before.

“Meow?”

“It’s nothing. This crystal is somewhat different; do you want to try absorbing it too?” Kyle had been holding the crystal but it didn’t do anything on his palm. Previously, Kate didn’t even let Kyle touched that black crystal for some reason.

Kate looked at the crystal and then touched her paw on top of it. It melted directly and entered her body.

She turned to look at Kyle.

“Well, it seems that it’s the same as ordinary transparent crystal?” Kyle arched his eyebrows. He decided to keep one away for some test in his laboratory while the rest were given to Kate.

With Kate’s ability, all the crystals were swept clean almost instantly.

The others were a bit jealous when they saw this, but they had to obediently try to absorb these crystals slowly to make sure the energy contained within could be integrated.

They were different from Kate.

“They’re going to break the wall again,” Jake said after a while. He looked at the wall and sighed. It seemed that there was only enough time for them to recover their strength with the crystals but not sleeping.

“Meow.”

Kate felt that she was truly useless. Because of the injuries in her abilities, which she herself couldn’t understand, she couldn’t use her healing ability. All she could do was to use the reverse healing ability against these giant mutated ants and absorbed as much white dots as possible.

“It’s fine. We can somehow take turns sleeping,” Lotte quickly answer Kate. She turned to look at her boyfriend. “Little Kitty can’t use her healing ability and can only use reverse healing, so you have to make do with it.”

Jake was speechless. “In that case... who will sleep first?”

“You.”

“Why?”

“Because you’ll be responsible to repair the wall after the battle is over.” Kyle glanced at Kate. He had the feeling that it was this little cat who needed to do reverse healing the most. Not being able to use healing but able to use reverse healing, it might mean that the healing abilities were being consumed to repair her own body.

Anyway, with the special characteristic of Kate, she found it very easy to recover her strength with these crystals. And she had been sleeping while they were busy trying to recover their strength.

“Fine...” Jake rolled his eyes.

“Lotte, you’re sleeping too. If you want to, you can sleep with Jake.”

“No.” Lotte refused immediately and rolled to the side. “I’ll sleep over here and he can sleep over there.”

Jake’s lips twitched imperceptibly and finally looked away. He wanted to call his girlfriend heartless, but finally gave up. Anyway, he knew very well that it would take a long time before they could finally get married if following the original timeline he was planning.

The two of them had their own plans for their future and had no plans on dragging each other down with them. Because of that, Jake could only curl up at one corner and sighed deeply.

Dylan watched it and blinked his eyes. “Get married sooner.”

“I will... if possible...” Jake answered weakly and then said nothing else. He still needed to consider about what Lotte wanted and couldn’t just force her to follow his wish. It was because of this that their relationship has been only ‘boyfriend’ and ‘girlfriend’ for so many years.

Kyle patted Dylan’s shoulder. “We’ll understand when we have girlfriend in the future. For now, let’s focus on the battle.”

“Ok.” Dylan then pointed at Kate. “Her first?”

“Yep, she’s first.” Kyle patted Kate. “Are you ready, Little Kitty?”

“Meow.” Kate licked her lips.

She wanted to slaughter these giant mutated ants that had put her into this position.

Bang!

When these giant mutated ants managed to break through the metal wall and the pile of ashes, Kate began to absorb these white dots over and over again. No matter how many giant mutated ants came, she sucked them all dry.

The pile of rotten giant mutated ants filled the area and Kyle burned them all into ashes before Dylan pushed them towards the wall again to clean it up from time to time. This time, it was truly the solo show of Kate killing these giant mutated ants.

Time passed swiftly.

Kate finally felt tired and her body somehow felt a bit light and full. She then snuggled closer to Kyle and called out, “Meow.”

“Are you done?” Kyle asked and then waved his hand. The next batch of giant mutated ants were directly turned into ashes.

Kate nodded and then snuggled close to Kyle as she fell asleep almost instantly.

Kyle was speechless. He looked at the little cat in his arm with amusement. This little one was truly a hassle to take care, but he liked her very much.
