76 [Bonus chapter]Meeting Jake and Kyle’s Parents

Kate didn’t fully understand Kyle’s world.

Even though she had been following him as his little cat for a period of time, she knew very well that he had many sides that she hadn’t seen yet. Probably she will have a chance to see by staying by his side as his little cat, but Kate still had a longing feeling to return being a human again.

Kate was bewildered when she saw this large military base. She knew that City B was known for having strong military, but she didn’t expect to be able to see the military base in person.

After all, for a place like a military base, there was no way that an ordinary person like her will be allowed to enter in her entire life if it was not for special reason. And the special reason she had was that she had become the cat of a person who could enter...

“Are you worried that your parents will beat you up out of love again?” Kyle asked nonchalantly.

Kate reached out her head curiously. There were two people wearing military uniform walking in their direction. From the way they looked like, Kate had the feeling that they were Jake’s parents.

“Dad, Mom,” Jake called out unwillingly.

“Uncle, Aunt.”

As soon as the man, Jake’s father, reached them, he landed a punch on Jake without mercy. He nodded to the other two. “Thank you for bringing this troublemaker back to City B in one piece.”

The man, Jake’s Mother, smiled sweetly and pulled Jake’s ear. “This brat hadn’t been listening to our words lately. It pleases us that he can come back here safely.”

“It’s good.” Kyle nodded calmly.

Kate stared blankly.

She looked at Jake, who was being beaten by his father and mother. No wonder that this man didn’t want to come back at all. If whenever he returned what faced him would be nothing more than a beating, she herself wouldn’t want to go back either.

Dr. Dall sighed when he saw the treatment Jake got. He had already seen for himself the scene when Jake was being beaten by his parents, so this didn’t surprise him at all.

“Ok.” Dylan also nodded.

The two of them were also used to see Jake being beaten up. Anyway, that brat would still be able to cheerfully ran around just half an hour after being beaten up, so they knew that these beatings were not effective for him.

“Yes, Dad! You don’t have to worry so much about me! I know that City A is dangerous and agreed to leave City A...Ouch!” Jake complained, but his mother instead increased the strength on her grip.

Jake’s Mother smiled at her son, yet that smile was so chilling and caused chills to spread on Jake’s back. “If you’re as sensible as your older brother, I wouldn’t have been so worried about you, Jake.”

Jake grimaced.

It was not like it was his intention to make his parents worried, ah...

“It’s good that you’re staying in City B now. You better stay at home obediently and don’t cause more trouble.” Jake’s Father looked at his son sternly. He then turned to look at Kyle. “Also, your father wants to see you soon.”

“Ok.” Kyle knew that his father was also in the military and might want to meet with him as soon as possible. It didn’t matter that much either way for him.

“Mom, Dad, we can protect ourselves! We’re all awakened people!” Jake protested weakly.

“Yes, yes, yes!” Jake waved his hand and the metal ball that followed him change shape to a box.

Jake’s Father looked at the metal box and then at the other two.
