Chapter 52

Allow me to introduce myself.

I am Lydith Heinzolde.

I am the most lovely, beautiful and perfect companion of Gilbert Yule Heinzolde, the King of the new Serene Kingdom, the land of the different race.

Until recently, the heterogeneous country, the New Kingdom of Selene, didn’t have a name. It was inconvenient for the country not to have a name, so after consulting with one of the king’s aides, Chuzel, he gave it a name that means ‘moon’ in the ancient language.

I chose gentle moonlight rather than the bright sun as the country’s name because the King, Gilbert-sama’s deep red hair, which is almost black, and his golden eyes reminded me of the night.

My silver hair, combined with the fact that Iris, the tailor, said that whenever the two of us stood side by side, we looked like the moon and the stars, and I was enchanted by that.

Originally, I was the daughter of Duke Anne Maria of the Kingdom of Evandia, a beautiful human girl in terms of race.

However, on the day I was made the official wife of Gilbert-sama, I apparently ceased to be a human being.

I don’t know whether it was because my body, which had been accustomed to Gilberto-sama’s magic power before becoming his official wife, received an even greater amount of magic power the night we connected our bodies, or whether it was because I was exposed to the edge of death by a certain goddess and brought back to life by the creator god of the world, but whatever the reason, my contents changed into something different from before. I don’t know if it was because I was brought back to life by the creator goddess of the world, but in any case, my insides  seemed to have changed into something different.

It was not that my appearance had changed. The biggest change was that I can now feel the flow of magic power.

The human race cannot feel magic power. Only demons or half-demons born of demons and humans parents, can sense it.

In other words, that is what it means.

Magic power, like colours and scents, can be felt when one goes to them.

For example, what Gilbert-sama, the King of the different race, has is like an overwhelming fire that consumes everything, what Astaroth, the King of the human-serpent race, has is like pure water, Ria, the king of the werewolf race, is like a quiet forest with dense trees, and Chuzel, the king of the spirit race, is like a beautiful mineral that does not speak.

To Gilbert-sama, I seem to be like a sweet fruit.

I think it is true that I feel the same way as him, because it was his magical power that has flowed into me.

I think he only thinks that way because he loves me, but whenever he says in a low voice, “No matter how much I devour, it’s never enough,” all I can do is nod my head with my cheeks tinted.

These days, I’m like a girl who has just discovered her first love, and I’m careful to make such gestures only when I’m alone with Gilbert-sama, but it’s not going so well.

Nevertheless, I was favourably impressed by my change.

It is love that changes the world, and love is stronger than anything else.

It’s only natural that I, who is beautiful and clever as an art created by God, should be loved, but having learned to love someone else, as well as returning the love equally, I have no more blind spots. In other words, I am the strongest.

The Barriers that separated the land of humans from the land of other races have disappeared, and the different races were beginning to interact with each other again in order to walk together.

Rafael-sama, the King of the Kingdom of Evandia, frequently visits me in the name of establishing diplomatic relations, but is always brought back by his Prime Minister, Orchis.

“I have already given the throne to Orchis. Cynthia is a former goddess, so she should have no problem ruling the kingdom. I’ll live here permanently as Lydith’s potential mistress”, much to Orchis’s annoyance.

Cynthia-san was married to Orchis.

I haven’t seen Cynthia since then, but if I ever get to meet her, I would like to have a long talk with her.

With the countries connected, I was able to return to the Anne-Maria family after a long time.

Clive said, “My quintessential goddess” and picked me up in his arms, and after a long time of dancing the dance of the precious lady, he said, “It’s been a long time, Master Heinzolde. And it’s nice to meet you, Gilbert-sama”, and bowed reverently, which puzzled Gilbert-sama.

After laughing at how different he looked from the past Clive I remember, I tried to give him blood as I had promised, he said, “Absolutely not” and got angry.

I already belong to Gilbert-sama, but he is still jealous and adorable.

After hugging me while crying, my brother bowed deeply to Gilbert-sama, and said, “Please take care of Liddy.”

My brother, who is clever like me, seemed to realise that I love Gilbert-sama with all my heart, and he immediately understood that Gilbert-sama is a very gentle man, despite his rough appearance.

Incidentally, Clive said that he would not return to Gilbert-sama, but would continue as a butler under my brother.

He said, “I owe the Anne Maria family such a great debt of gratitude that I can do everything I can for them,” and even so, he seemed to regret leaving Gilbert-sama, whom he had served for a long time and who had the presence of Master Heinzolde, and me.

And as expected, my mother’s joy at seeing Gilbert-sama was tremendous.

“Well done, Liddy! Now your mother won’t have to dream about you and a strong slave knight meeting somewhere!”

So Master Gilbert was angry again “What slave knight? Are you going to cheat on me again, Lydith?”

I have never cheated on my husband.

I have never been unfaithful.

Interactions between humans and other races had so far begun to take place peacefully.

There will probably be many problems in the future, but they can be dealt with as they arise.

We would be able to build a good country without any problems.

After all, I am the most beautiful girl and I have my beloved Gilbert-sama next to me.

I looked up at Gilbert-sama, who looked a little tired after being touched here and there by my mother.

I looked up at his golden eyes, which reminded me of the brightest star of the morning, and smiled at him with the most beautiful smile.

“Gilbert-sama, I want to have many children.”

It is my duty as a companion, but not only that. I want to make Gilbert-sama happy, who was not blessed with a family since birth.

Now I sincerely want to do that.

“I want to monopolise you a little more, is that no good?”

When he stroked my hair and said sweetly, my heart filled up with happiness.

I hugged Gilbert-sama’s neck and said, “I love you more than anyone else,” and conveyed my overflowing feelings in the unpretentious words I repeated over and over again.
