Chapter 267 Weird Creatures

"Damn, even this thing's blood is on fire…" Aion thought.

The temperature was quickly increasing, so Aion made up his mind not to hold back on the mana usage and covered his spear with ice magic. Otherwise, he would pay quite the price for any, even small amounts of recklessness. It was better to waste some mana, than save it and lose an arm or something similar.

The monster summoned several ice spears and fired them. Aion began to run around the beast and began to dodge them. Still, even when they only hit the ground, they caused explosions that made Aion feel like it was raining boiling water.

The monster suddenly turned around and swung one of its paws toward Aion while he blocked with his spear. He was still pushed backward for ten meters…

"At least they are using their heads for a change…" Aion said while he looked at Seris and Sauros charging their weapons.

The beast charged at Aion while firing fire spears and then jumped to the side to smash Aion when he did the same.

While clicking his tongue, Aion made several ice spears emerge from the ground and around him. The monster landed on the spears, and then they began to pierce its body. However, they soon cracked since Aion didn't have time to make them properly… still, they bought him enough time to escape.

Aion jumped backward, and while he was in the air, he used Sonic Throw and used his magic to make the weapon spin. The creature used the other paw to block the attack, and while it worked, it cost the other paw as well.

Even when it pierced the flesh, Aion kept using his magic to make the weapon spin and pierce even further. While the enemy was trembling in agony, Sauros and Seris aimed their weapons properly and then shot at the monster's head. Two electric spears flew and hit the enemy's head, paralyzing the creature for several seconds. Blood began to leave the monster's nostrils and ears… but it didn't kill it.

"What tenacity… those attacks were on the same level as the one who killed the guardian of the labyrinth, and yet…" Aion thought while he watched sparks of lightning bolts around the monster appearing.

Aion changed his class to Necromancer… there was no time to hold back. With that in mind, he summoned several ice pillars and made them hit the enemy's head in quick succession and didn't give the monster any time to rest. Eventually, Aion heard the sound of bones cracking, and the beast stopped moving.

You obtained 200.000 experience points.

The class Necromancer has leveled up.

You obtained 05 status points.

You obtained 03 improvement points.

Aion sighed… that was a lot of experience that could have gone to the lancer class. Still, that made him get close to the moment when he would get his first third-tier class.

"The challenge this time was a lot tougher than the others…" Sauros said and then sighed. "That was surprising. "I thought it would be on the same level as those creatures we faced in the labyrinth, but I was dead wrong."

"In any case, we don't know if the next floors will be like this, but we need to rest properly," Seris said. "Just in case… the ceiling is fifty meters above us, and if the next floors are like this…"

Aion nodded. It would mean that not many of those were left. It was better that way time-wise, but a bit boring since Aion couldn't get more experience. He felt like he was running in circles wanting both things.

"I am starting to miss the cold of the labyrinth…" Aion said while using some wind magic to make the hot air dissipate. "You can escape the cold with clothes, but the heat is exhaustingly annoying."

"... I still prefer the heat over the cold," Sauros said.

"Me too," Seris nodded.

"You two are weird. Escaping the cold with some warm wind is relaxing," Aion said. "Anyway, have you heard of this kind of monster before?"

"Yes, this time, it isn't one that has gone extinct," Sauros said. "It is a creature common in a certain country way north of that frozen country. That place has many volcanoes, and those monsters like to live near those."

"Why the hell do they have fur, then? That is just stupid," Aion said.

"I guess it helps them emit more energy and conserve it as well…" Sauros explained. "Come to think of it, while obtaining information is our trade, and I can't say that we know everything about the whole world… some of the enemies and monsters that we face must live in the outer layer of the ocean."

According to Sauros, there was this massive ocean that they were in that was round and surrounded by a single continent that had a weird format since it surrounded that ocean. However, there existed even bigger countries and continents beyond that area. Not even Sauros' family managed to explore those lands beyond in many generations since coming and going would take years of travel nonstop through uncharted waters.

In any case, just resting for half an hour wouldn't do this time, so they rested for a while longer before going to the next floor. Since the battles were getting harder and Aion didn't know for how long his current abilities would be enough, he decided to keep using the Necromancer class on the next floors. He only changed that strategy when some mage-type enemies showed up since it became a test of patience rather than a battle due to their defensive skills…

For the time being, they didn't face anything really troublesome in the next few floors. Thanks to that, Aion managed to reach the level one hundred in the necromancer class after the 59th floor… he could evolve the class now. Still, he could only hope as well that he won't need the necromancer class as much as in that tower…
