Chapter 242 Considerations

While they began to advance, Aion asked for more explanations, but soon he had to stop since all that talking was messing with their focus. He had to wait for a few more hours for the short break and learn more. He could wait that much.

Although Seris didn't want to teach Aion how to make runes now, she gladly answered how some effects worked and could be applied. Thanks to that, Aion was able to come up with an excellent theory to perfect Force Release.

"It will be hard to pull it off, but I guess I can create another magic core that will have the sole purpose of healing my body once I suffer damage," Aion thought. "The problem with that is the fact that it will be in my heart… the mana will need to cross my entire body, and for that to happen, I will need to make use of my blood vessels…"

That seemed rather risky, but it was a risk that would increase Aion's potential immensely… he was almost unstoppable already, and if he added that the power that half-assed attacks won't be able to stop him… people would think twice before they have any stupid idea of picking a fight with him.

In any case, all that thinking and planning helped Aion kill time. Thanks to that, they reached the final part of the third area of the labyrinth in no time. Perhaps three days after they entered the place.

There was no point in saying that again, so they just headed to the next area in order to check the enemies there. This time the cold mist emerging from the ground had been powerful enough to even moist some parts of everyone's gear. After not so long, even their clothes would freeze due to the minimal amount of water on them.

Upon noticing that, Aion began to use his magic to warm the temperature around them again. He didn't use much while blocking the attacks of the enemies before, after all.

Still, it didn't seem like he was going to be able to keep that for long. The first monsters of that area began to come from the deepest parts of the labyrinths as well… the monsters were… skeletons, much to Aion's surprise. Skeletons that were wearing dark blue cloaks emitted cold air through their mouths whenever they breathed.

Aion was pretty sure that skeletons couldn't breathe, so that puzzled him. What puzzled him even more, was the fact that they made dozens of ice arrows appear around them before they fired them. Aion knew that he couldn't block all of them without some help, so he spun his spear after using Inner Force, and he charged at the same time.

Aion managed to block the projectiles, but while he was approaching, the monsters made some ice appear below their feet, and they began to fly away… while they also fired more magic projectiles at him.

"Now this explains why people reached this area and then turned around… skeletons can't give resources, and they are this troublesome…" Aion thought.

Aion picked up the pace and used Force Release for a moment. In that short window of time, he caught the three skeletons and then swung his spear two times to smash their skulls. That was enough for them to turn into a pile of frozen bones.

While Aion didn't think that the fight was over just by smashing the skulls, his system made him understand that was really the case… despite being skeletons, and they have some durability since their bones were frozen to the point that even approaching was difficult for Aion. Moreover, when he made his weapon absorb them, he only got frozen bones… it could be used to reinforce melee weapons, though.

Eventually, more enemies showed up, and Seris and Sauros used their weapons to fight them. They had been pretty effective, but Aion still had a hard time blocking the enemies' attacks, even when they attacked only for a moment.

"I guess this is enough for now," Sauros said, scratching the back of his head. "As expected of a labyrinth that had been around for hundreds of years… things will be complicated from now on."

"Never fear, for I am here to save your asses," Aion said.

"While it is good that you are being cheerful, you need to rest," Sauros said. "You barely slept since we arrived in the third area."

"I guess I will," Aion replied while thinking that he would need to clear his mind before he completed Force Release."

Once he began to relax, Aion realized that instead of making one core for stamina as well, it would be a lot easier if he could make another one that could use the mana stored to restore his stamina… he needed to learn the magic to restore stamina first, though.

It will be easier for Aion to learn anything related to magic if he uses the Necromancer class since it has the highest magic attribute. From that point onward, once he learns with that class, he can practice with the others…

"I am almost at level forty here… but maybe I will be forced to rely more on magic in the next two areas," Aion thought. "Only more 13 level-ups, huh…"
