Chapter 148 Martial Artist

The boulder flew so fast that Aion was forced to move downward to prevent his head from being smashed. He couldn't move to the sides either… while he could have blocked with his shield, he probably would have been sent flying dozens of kilometers away. Aion thought that when he saw the boulder disappearing in the distance while still going upward.

"What the hell…" Aion thought.

Like a cannonball, the enemy that came from the town and jumped toward Aion. He didn't want to fight, so he just flew to the side, but the enemy was wearing two bracers, and by pointing them at Aion, he created a massive boulder and fired at him. From that distance, Aion was unable to block it, and he only raised his shield and then braced himself for the impact.

"Urgh!" Aion grunted in pain.

Aion tried to keep his posture to block most of the impact. Still, while he succeeded in doing that, the speed of the projectile made him fly in the opposite direction too fast. Aion only saw the terrain change from the corner of his vision. Still, he could imagine himself crossing hundreds of meters in a few seconds. His vision began to get blurred, but using his magic, he properly himself upward with the wind in order to escape it. He couldn't afford to waste any more time, but then he saw the boulder hitting and destroying a hill in the distance…

Aion began to fly away, but then he felt the enemy's gaze again… that motherfucker still was chasing him. When Aion tried to fly and leave the enemy's range of attack, another boulder aimed at his head was shot.

"It looks like he really wants to fight me… I don't have time for this, but… at this rate, I will only waste my mana trying to escape," Aion thought when he landed.

When the enemy approached, he saw Aion landing on the ground, and his face was distorted in anger and disgust. One could even think that Aion was on the right in that situation, but his enemy knew better than that.

"Face me, invader," The enemy said. "You can't expect to land on my territory and leave as if nothing had happened."

The man was one hell of a bulky guy. He didn't have much hair at the top of his head, but he had some spiky white hair on the sides and one mustache as well. He looked like the final boss of a fighting game that Aion played in the past since he wasn't wearing any shorts and only some black pants. He also looked like a martial artist since he didn't have any boots or gauntlets, only the bracers on his arms that emitted a certain level of magical power. Still, the most impressive of his characteristics was his white eyes… he didn't look to be blind, though.

"It wasn't my intention to stop on your territory," Aion said. "I don't want to fight you, but I fight…"

"That changes nothing," The old man said and then assumed a stance that resembled the southpaw stance of boxing.

"If you make me waste my time… your beloved town will be destroyed by your own hands later…" Aion warned. "I don't have time for your shit, and I am really pissed."

It seemed that he lacked the appearance to make himself look truly scary while threatening people... The old man charged at Aion while ignoring his words... and then slammed his forearm against Aion's sheld. It happened in a single instant, but it felt like he had been hit by another boulder. The impact pushed him backward, and before he could stop, the old man was already on his side and ready to kick his head.

Aion turned his shield to the side, but the enemy sent him flying into the air since he didn't have the chance to assume a proper defensive stance. While his body was spinning, Aion felt the danger to his life and realized that another attack was coming.

Aion used wind magic again to fix his stance and block the boulder properly with his shield. He felt like a bullet train had just collided with him, but he endured it since the attack sent him flying in the direction he wanted to go. In the end, he passed nearby the city just like that, and when the boulder began to fall, he jumped away from it.

Aion tried to run away, but he felt the bloodlust of that man approaching… He charged even faster than before, and when Aion turned around, he saw the man riding a boulder.

"All right… I will kill him," Aion thought. "Then I will take his bracers and use them to help me with "my movement speed…"

The enemy could feel Aion's fighting spirit now, so he prepared to fight seriously. Despite his young age, he could tell that Aion was experienced and could take a hit or two. The old man never saw anyone surviving his attacks like that, even with shields and armor.

The old man charged and then attacked Aion with a dropkick. Aion just swung his shield on a vertical swing. He put a lot of power behind that, so the impact didn't push him back that much. As soon as he landed, the old man kicked the air in front of him, and a blast of wind forced Aion to raise his shield.

The old man used that chance to attack Aion from the side. Again and again, Aion blocked it with his shield, but then ice began to spread from the shield toward the old man's leg and stopped him. Aion used that chance to swing his sword at that guy's head, but he just kicked his chest by jumping a bit and using his other leg.

Aion felt like his cheat would split open, but the pain eventually dissipated. Still, when he looked at the enemy, he just tensed the muscles of his legs and made the ice break…
