Chapter 95 Invasion

While Aion was resting, he wondered if the kingdoms that waged war against his mother's homeland truly killed all of them and only left her alone… from many angles, exterminating anything was a pretty bad idea, even more so when the targets can use magic that no one else can…

Still, many people hated Artemisia and the people of her kingdom, and those with power probably would lose their minds if they learned that their homelands were keeping them alive. Still, ten years had passed… not many of those should be in the hands of the slave trader unless…

"I can't think like that… I can't assume those things, and I need to focus on something else," Aion thought.

Aion had a lot to do. Invade the main town of that territory, look for the slave traders, beat senseless anyone close to them to make them unable to do anything for many days, free the slaves, and cause even more problems to them, just for the fun of it.

"The next few days will be pretty intense…" Aion thought.

When Aion had rested enough, he approached the walls of the town and confirmed that the number of guards there was extremely low. They weren't even moving. They were even worse than the guards on Aion's territory since they hadn't had a fight in a long while… at least not one where they had to defend their town.

In any case, the gates were closed, so Aion would have to jump over the walls. The Slayer class wasn't at a level where Aion had enough strength to jump over ten meters tall walls. So, Aion used the Berserker class to jump, and while he was in the air, he changed to Slayer and then used Furtivity. In the end, jumped so high and fast that he almost landed on the top of a warehouse. The guards nearby didn't notice him…

The impact of Aion's landing was also minimal since he landed and soon rolled on the ground. His legs hurt a bit since he didn't have that much endurance in the class.

"Let's see, if I were a piece of shit, where would I try to make business?" Aion rubbed his chin thoughtfully.

Although Artemisia managed to gather information about the commerce of slaves, she couldn't get more Intel without making suspicious moves, so Aion had to look for the slave market himself. Fortunately, those who have things to hide always do their shady business in the middle of the night.

Aion climbed some houses and took a good look around. The town was only slightly bigger than his, and it didn't have enough room to have things like slums, so every building had a purpose. With that in mind, it became even more clear that the lord of that place was fully aware of the commerce of slaves, and to prevent problems, Aion assumed that he would have two options: either let the slave market be close to his home or as far away as possible. Aion had never heard of someone being punished for not following the laws when it came to slavery, so he assumed that the first option was the correct one.

Aion approached the central part of the town and confirmed that guards were patrolling around. It was suspicious… they only needed to patrol the mansion of the lord… Aion looked around again, and he found many warehouses. It was a weird place to build them, but it would be easy to guard on the central part of the town. With that in mind, only two guards were guarding the lord's mansion.

"I really can't afford to make mistakes here, so they will have to suffer a bit," Aion thought as he approached a pair of guards.

When both of them stopped to check an alley, Aion jumped behind them, and when they turned around, Aion punched them in the face. Aion felt their noses breaking, and then they began to fall, but Aion grabbed them by the neck.

Aion looked around and then dragged them to the dark alley. After that, he threw them on the ground since they weren't wearing any armor. Aion grabbed their swords and wondered what he should do… If he melts them to some extent, then he could use those like handcuffs. He decided to use that and stuck their legs on the ground. Once the swords melted a bit, he cooled them down with ice magic… It looked like something powerful melted those.

"This will take too long. I can't knock down all the guards like this," Aion thought.

Aion drew his sword and began to cut the clothes of the guards and used them as ropes to close their mouths and stop their arms. It seemed like a better idea to do that… No one will find those guys until morning.

Before the other guards could notice that some of them had disappeared, Aion moved fast to ambush them as well, and he did exactly that for one hour. Until he noticed three men leaving a random warehouse behind the mansion of the lord… He clicked his tongue when he saw them looking around and searching for the guards. That made them look suspicious…

Aion could see them armed with swords, but they hadn't armor as well. They began to look around for the guards, and Aion decided to attack them before something happened because he was curious about the place they came from.

It only was for a moment, but when they saw a cloaked figure charge at them, they touched their swords, but they only managed to do that… Aion hit one with his hammer and the other with a kick. Both on the stomach and the pain made them faint… The last one got hit in the face when Aion threw his weapon. It was fortunate that the warrior class wasn't at a high level. Otherwise, the head would have been smashed… after throwing them on the dark alley, Aion went to investigate the suspicious warehouse.
