We get home, put our stuff on the counter, and turn on the TV. I collapse onto the couch, and the assassin grabs her underwear.

“Okay, I’m gonna go put these on now.”

“What? Report to me every time. Do you want me to peek at you while you change your underwear? Maybe you’re a pervert, assassin.”

” ……. ”

She looked like she didn’t have the energy to reply and then left the living room without saying a word. I think she went to the changing room.

If I’m really going to live with an assassin, I’d better think about the room and so on.

I have enough room, but I’d prefer to share a bedroom or something. But it’s not up to me, so I’ll have to discuss it with the assassin.

The assassin comes back with light steps. She falls down on the couch as I do. And she says in a reassured tone.

“I’ve calmed down. It’s a bit of a thrill to stay in that state, and it’s not good.”

“I’m glad you haven’t developed any strange proclivities, assassin.”

I say, and the assassin’s expression turns questioning.

“Don’t you want me to be a pervert? ”

“No, I want you to live a normal life, assassin. I just want you to like me. ”

When I said that, she sat down beside me, muttering, “That’s difficult, isn’t it?”

Then she picked up the TV remote control and pressed a few buttons to change the channel.

“I haven’t watched TV in a long time. I don’t know how long it’s been.”

“I don’t watch TV much anymore either. I use my smartphone nowadays.”

“Well, I don’t have one. I left everything at that place. ”

She turns her head toward me and smiles. That place is where she used to live, I guess. The assassin’s former life.

“If I go back now, I’ll be killed. The mission has failed, and I can’t go back for my stuff.”

“Are you sure they’ll kill you? If you’re no longer of use, then isn’t it better not to spend more energy hunting you?”

“Well, that’s the way the world works.”

She said and changed the channel calmly as if it were a trivial discussion. I’ve never had a failed mission, but I’ve known many who have.

I still went to save them, and some of them didn’t make it, but I don’t think it’s ever right to kill each other’s friends.

“There’s nowhere for me to go, so I don’t know what I’m going to do from now on.”

The assassin sighs. I put my hand on the assassin’s hand, who smiles awkwardly.

“I hope this house can be a place where the assassins return to. What do you think? ”

I smile at her, and the assassin, her eyes slightly teary, smiles wryly as she speaks.

“You’re such a bastard to take advantage of my broken heart. But… I’ll let you take a little advantage of me now.”

After saying this, the assassin jumps into my chest. I hold the assassin’s thin body in my arms, squeezing her tightly. The assassin leans her body against me without any resistance.

She shrinks her body and breathes in my chest as if she is at ease. Then she looks up at me, and the assassin says in a tsundere tone.

“It’s not that I don’t like Sagami, but I still prefer fried chicken right now.”

She points at a character in a package of chickens and goes to eat the chicken. I instantly thought the chicken was a hateful guy. I threw it in the trash as soon as the assassin was gone
