Chapter 116:  Anyway, It’s Not Like I’m Going To Ride A Horse Tomorrow.

Even though Qin Yicang’s soul had returned to his body, and his life threatening wound had been healed, he was still severely injured. To the point that he was unable to stand up and walk.

While the Phoenix Clan members on Pingding Mountain lived in trees, on the mountainside there was a dormitory hall called the ‘Palace of the Human World’. This dormitory existed to accommodate those travelers who had come from far away.

Qin Yicang would stay there temporarily to recover from his injuries.

Since the crisis had been mitigated, and the inhabitants of Pingding Mountain were safe and sound, Bian Zhonghua decided to leave immediately for the Capital.

Unexpectedly, Lin Baihu found himself in a dilemma.

Although he wished to stay at Pingding Mountain to take care of Qin Yicang, the responsibility on his shoulders told him that he should follow his Master.

Bian Zhonghua was stunned.

Turning his head to look at Qin Yicang, who was lying on the sickbed, Bian Zhonghua said: “Seriously, even at a time like this, Lin Baihu, you’re willing to be loyal to your Master? Qin Yicang, now I can perfectly understand how miserable you have been feeling until now. If my Little Gongzi were to be this loyal to someone else, I would definitely break that guy’s entire body into pieces and bury him in the depths of the desert.”

Lin Baihu: “…..”

Qin Yicang replied almost out of breath: “You think I don’t want to do that? It’s just that I can’t beat you.”

Lin Baihu: “…..”

After that, the three of them agreed to meet again when Qin Yicang’s body was completely healed. Once that issue was settled, Bian Zhonghua immediately departed for the Capital.

At the same time, in the Prince’s Residence in the Capital, where the moon hung thinly in the dark night sky surrounded by the scarce glittering stars….

Qi Ci was lying on his bed with a frown on his face, proving that he was having quite a restless dream.

After all, he was dreaming about that strange man in black again.

The man in black, whose face was still hidden by darkness, chuckled softly. This laughter sounded so macabre that it even made whoever heard it fall into panic. The man said to Qi Ci: “Do you want to know what happened in your past? I can tell you.”

Qi Ci didn’t appreciate the offer. On the contrary, he was highly suspicious: “Who are you? Why do you appear in my dreams again and again?”

The man in black didn’t reply to him, and instead, he hid in the darkness. Not long after, the scene surrounding Qi Ci changed.

Qi Ci then found himself in a place filled with willow trees amongst a spring mist. A place where warblers sang above the pink peach blossoms.

The surrounding mountains were green and lush, with an empty valley in the center, where the echoing sound of a stream could be heard. In that stream, with crystal clear water, there was a young boy of about eight or nine years old, whose face was as beautiful as a fairy.

Upon seeing the boy, Qi Ci froze because that young boy’s appearance looked exactly the same as Qi Ci’s appearance when he was young. The only difference between the two was that that young boy had two oddly shaped small horns on his head.

That boy had rolled up his pants to venture into the water. Once his feet stepped on the stones of the stream, the boy closed his eyes, as if he was sensing something.

Suddenly, the clear water of the stream rose into the air, taking the shape of a large ball of water.

When the boy opened his eyes again, he jumped up and down and cheered excitedly, which only caused the ball of water to collapse abruptly and splash water all over him.

Nevertheless, the boy didn’t care that he had gotten wet. He simply touched his face and ran towards the shore, heading somewhere unknown.

Qi Ci hurried to follow behind the boy.

The boy was running so fast and with so much excitement that he ended up tripping over a stone by accident, which made him fall hard to the ground. The boy’s clothes were already wet from what had happened earlier, so when he fell to the ground, he ended up getting mud all over himself.

The boy didn’t seem to have felt any pain even with such a fall, so he got up, limped a couple of times, and kept running forward.

After crossing a dense forest, the boy arrived at a valley.

In the valley, there were nine deep pools, each of which surrounded the lowest part of the valley. The water in these ponds was clear and cool, displaying a landscape so foreign to the scenery of the world Qi Ci knew.

The boy continued to run into the valley, when all of a sudden, someone stopped him by grabbing his shoulder.

“Where were you? Why are you all wet and covered in mud?” The person to speak was a young man with long eyes and thin eyebrows, about eighteen or nineteen years old.

“Brother! I can control the water now!” The boy responded excitedly.

The young man reached out a hand and pinched the boy’s face: “What are you so happy about? Even after practicing for so long, you can just now barely control the water. Besides, look at how dirty you are.”

Although the young man’s words were fierce and harsh, as soon as he finished speaking, he recited an incantation. In an instant, the water drenching the boy’s body rose up, detaching itself from him and drying his clothes. Then, the young man reached out to gently pat the now dry dirt from the boy’s body to clean it off.

After being scolded, the boy felt somewhat frustrated, so he stood with his head down in dejection.

When the young man saw the boy like this, his heart skipped a beat. As soon as the young man began to think about how to reverse the situation, a man arrived.

This man’s temperament was gentle and his voice extremely soft: “What happened to little Chiwen? Why is he so dirty?”

“Seventh Brother!” The young man and the boy shouted in unison.

“It’s nothing, I just fell down by accident a moment ago,” the boy replied.

“Stupid.” As soon as the young man finished speaking, the man slapped him on the head.

“Chiwen, let me check on you to see if you’ve hurt yourself somewhere.” After slapping the young man, the man bent down and pulled up the boy’s pants to check his legs. At that moment, the man saw that the boy’s knees were scratched and stained with fresh blood.

“How did you manage to fall so badly?” The young man shouted.

The man stood up and gently took the boy’s hand: “Come, let’s go find Fifth Sister to treat your wounds.”

As the man led the boy into the depths of the valley, the young man hurried after them. He tugged at the man’s clothes and quietly said: “Hey, he can control the water now. Seventh Brother, you should praise him.”

The man, feeling both helpless and amused, turned his head to praise the child with a few words.

The boy, upon hearing the praise, immediately jumped up and down with joy.

When the young man noticed that the boy was no longer downcast, he couldn’t stop a smile from revealing itself on his face.

This entire scene fell into Qi Ci’s eyes.

Suddenly, someone whispered in Qi Ci’s ear: “Are you really sure you don’t want to remember them?”

Qi Ci turned his head, but found no one behind him.

At that instant, the scene changed, and in front of him, the blowing wind had blown up the yellow sand, which had dazzled his eyes. There, Qi Ci saw Bian Zhonghua standing with his glowing sword in his hand.

That same sword had pierced a person’s chest.

As for the victim, it was the young man from a moment ago.

Qi Ci woke up with a start, his body covered in cold sweat.

However, before he could recover from sleep, he was confronted with something even more terrifying.

There, right in front of his bed, stood a man.

Without even thinking about it, Qi Ci picked up the porcelain pillow1 and forcefully threw it toward that man.

The man caught the porcelain pillow firmly and, with a twist of his finger, lit the candle on the table. The man laughed and said: “I see the little Prince is very excited about my visit. This means a lot to me.”

Qi Ci froze.

Bian Zhonghua put the porcelain pillow back on the headboard of the bed, sat on the side of the bed and said with a gentle smile: “Did I wake you up? Forgive me, I just wanted to see you. I didn’t expect to disturb you.”

Qi Ci shook his head: “You didn’t disturb me, I woke up by myself. Did you just come back to the Capital?”

Bian Zhonghua nodded his head.

“Have you regained your Mana?” Qi Ci asked.

Bian Zhonghua nodded again, reached out and gently covered Qi Ci’s hand with his own. “Little Gongzi, there’s something I have to confess to you. Not only have I regained my Mana, but I’ve also regained the memories of my past.”

Qi Ci was stunned to hear this and looked at Bian Zhonghua with wide eyes. Bian Zhonghua continued: “What I mean, is that I remembered who I am, where I came from, and many other things.”

“So, did we really know each other in the past?” That was what Qi Ci was most concerned about.

Bian Zhonghua nodded: “Yes. Not only did we meet, but also…..”

Bian Zhonghua suddenly stopped.

Qi Ci couldn’t help but ask: “‘Also’ what?”

""

Bian Zhonghua chuckled and said: “Also, in the past, I had fallen in love with you as well. My little Gongzi, I’ve really liked you for a long time.”

Qi Ci was greatly surprised. As he was about to ask, Bian Zhonghua leaned toward him, lifted his chin and gave him a gentle kiss: “It’s a long story. I can’t just sum it up in a sentence or two, so I’ll tell you all about it tomorrow, when I’m free.”

Qi Ci nodded: “Good.”

‘Just in time to ask you why I’m having these strange nightmares all the time.’

“You should get some more sleep, it’s still early.” As Bian Zhonghua spoke, he twirled his fingers, causing the candle flame on the table to go out. At that moment, the room fell back into darkness.

“Rest well. I will return to the Secret Servant’s Residence.”

As soon as Bian Zhonghua said he was leaving, Qi Ci hurriedly grabbed his wrist and pulled him: “Why do you have to hurry back to the Secret Servant’s Residence? Rest here.”

Bian Zhonghua burst out laughing: “Little Gongzi, I can’t rest here with you.”

“Why….?” Before Qi Ci could finish speaking, he choked, understanding the meaning behind Bian Zhonghua’s words.

Qi Ci pulled Bian Zhonghua silently for a long while, when he suddenly said quietly: “Anyway, it’s not like I’m going to ride a horse tomorrow.”
