Chapter 15: If You Want Me To Go, Then I’ll Go. There’s No Need To Worry.

Bian Zhonghua quickly stepped into the main hall. At first glance, he was able to see that State Master Li was standing in the hall, waiting for him, with his hands behind his back.

There was another person standing in the main hall as well.

That person’s appearance was that of a teenager. His eyes were cold as snow, and his face was expressionless. His eyebrows, eyelashes and hair were surprisingly white as snow, looking almost transparent under the scorching sun. Even his lips were pale, devoid of a single trace of blood.

In fact, this teenager wasn’t a human.

Bian Zhonghua looked at the teenager, and as their eyes collided with each other, they nodded their heads as a form of greeting.

Even though State Master Li was a confidant of Empress Dowager Xianyi, he held the important power of managing the Secret Servant division. His family background was a mystery, and his appearance was ordinary, with no particularly special features. Once he saw Bian Zhonghua coming in, he asked steadily: “Did you know that the Prince was found?”

Bian Zhonghua saluted at him and said: “I know.”

State Master Li nodded his head and said: “We’ve been searching for him for so many years, but I didn’t expect that the Prince would use the fire pearl himself to prove his identity. Empress Dowager Xianyi and His Royal Highness the Crown Prince were very happy when they heard that the Prince was found, so they gave him his own residence and bestowed him with the title ‘Chongfeng’, which is a homophone for ‘reunion’1. These days, you will take a few Secret Servants to the Prince’s residence to take care of it and not let the demons rush over there.”

“Alright.” Bian Zhonghua nodded his head.

State Master Li waved his hand: “Alright, go rest. You can go to see the Prince tomorrow.”

Bian Zhonghua clasped his fist and left. Once he was far away, State Master Li waved his sleeves and a black gas roared out of his cuff, slamming the main hall doors shut.

Only then did the white-haired boy, who had been standing in the main hall with a silver light glowing all over his body, close his eyes, searching around the room. Once he confirmed that no one was spying, he turned his head to nod at State Master Li. However, when he turned around, he only saw a layer of human skin laying pitifully on the ground.

The human skin was the exact appearance of State Master Li.

And, beside the human skin, a black gas surged in the air, dispersing and gathering into a body shape.

The white-haired boy bent down to pick up the human skin, putting it on a chair. Then he heard the black gas ask: “Is His Royal Highness the Crown Prince going to die soon?”

The voice of the black gas was sometimes sharp and sometimes hoarse. It was impossible to tell whether it was the voice of a man or a woman, as if both were changing endlessly.

The white-haired boy nodded: “He’s at the bridge of death, but there are some blood Gu worms to replenish his life. He won’t die for the time being, let alone now when the Prince was finally found.”

The black gas sighed: “After so many years, he was finally found….”

The white-haired boy asked: “What did Empress Dowager Xianyi say?”

After a short silence, the black gas replied: “Empress Dowager Xianyi said that she would exchange a life for His Royal Highness the Crown Prince’s health. Only this way will he be healthy and safe.”

The white-haired boy remained unperturbed and expressionless: “Well then, the refining of the Longevity Pill must be prepared.”

In the ancient books, it was said that the Longevity Pills could cure every disease and heal hundreds of injuries. However, the refining of a Longevity Pill required a blood relative of the injured person to be put into the furnace as the last ‘substance’, to act as a guide.

In the spring of March, at noon, the sky was clear, the dogs were driving the chicken away, and Steward Wu, the Steward of the Secret Servant residence, dozed off.

As he slept, he suddenly felt a cold breeze close to him, so cold that it woke him up abruptly. When he raised his eyes, he saw that there was a person fanning beside him.

‘It’s early spring, and it’s still cold. Is this person out of his mind?!‘

When Steward Wu was about to curse at that person, he recognized Qin Yicang right on time. At this, he hurriedly knelt down: “Greetings Lord Qin!”

Qin Yicang asked him to get up and then pointed at Qi Ci, who was beside him, and said: “Find him something to do.”

Steward Wu didn’t dare to neglect and hurriedly clattered through the book in front of him.

He rummaged through it until it was finished.

Steward Wu then went over again, until finally, he said awkwardly: “Lord Qin, there isn’t a shortage of people in the Secret Servant residence, however, Prince Chongfeng’s residence has just been appointed, and there’s a great shortage of servants there. Maybe he can….”

Qi Ci’s eyes shrank.

The Prince’s residence!

Since Xu Run has stolen his mother’s relics, relying on the fire pearl to be recognized as part of the Royal Family, he became a Prince in one single step.

But, what does he want?

Glory and wealth?

After all, with the status of a Prince, there wouldn’t be a need to worry about Xu Li’s illness.

So, as long as Qi Ci went to the Prince’s residence, he would get a chance to meet Xu Run!

But, what should he do when they meet?…. Qi Ci was regarded as a slave, and Xu Run was regarded as the Prince. If questioned, Qi Ci would be the one to lose.

Should Qi Ci take the double Dragon jade pendant and confront Xu Run with his identity as the true Prince?

But, if he did, then he wouldn’t be able to escape the title of Prince. He couldn’t say for sure that his life in this Imperial Palace would be a blessing or a curse.

Qi Ci felt overwhelmed, and for a brief moment, he didn’t know what decision he should take.

“Did you hear that?” Qin Yicang asked Qi Ci: “Will you go to Prince Chongfeng’s residence?”

Qi Ci hesitated: “I…..”

“Speaking of which! State Master Li sent a letter today, saying that Lord Bian will be sent to the Prince’s residence!” Steward Wu was quite talkative today.

Qi Ci suddenly made up his mind: “I’ll go.”
