Chapter 3: In Order To Survive, You’ll Have To Endure The Pain.

When Bian Zhonghua leaned over and pinned Qi Ci down on the bed, he felt that the person under him was trembling slightly. Bian Zhonghua smiled and said: “Weren’t you acting so feracious just now? But now you’re scared again?”

Qi Ci scolded: “Who’s afraid? You pressed my wound! I’m in pain!”

Bian Zhonghua replied: “You’re covered with bruises, how’s that my fault?”

Qi Ci was in great pain. He had been whipped several times the day before, and the whip wounds around his body weren’t easy to cure and stop the bleeding. When Bian Zhonghua pressed on him, a wound cracked open and a trace of blood was oozing again. Qi Ci thought for a moment, pushed Bian Zhonghua away, rolled over, and sat on top of him.

When Bian Zhonghua, now lying on the bed, looked at the person on top of his body, he wrapped his arms showing a resisting attitude: “I don’t like this position.”

Qi Ci, after being discouraged like that, got off him, and lied on his side: “Then forget it, I’ll just die!”

Bian Zhonghua laughed, turned sideways, and supported one side of his head with a hand: “In order to live, you’ll have to endure the pain.”

Qi Ci nodded, gave up, and closed his eyes, pretending to be dead.

Bian Zhonghua slowly pulled Qi Ci’s brocade clothes and asked with curiosity: “How did you end up in this situation?”

Qi Ci opened his eyes and stared directly at the bed: “I don’t know who my father is. My mother was gentle, kind, knew how to read and write, and was very polite. She and I lived together in a small town on the Northern Border, but when I was twelve years old, she got sick and died. Therefore I grew up without a family. Because I was able to read and write, my neighbors would sometimes ask me to write letters for them, in exchange, they would give me some money. Although I was still poor, I was able to survive. Later….”

In the middle of the story, Qi Ci’s eyes were suddenly filled with anger. He clenched his fists so hard that he couldn’t say another word, and it took him a long time to calm down. As Qi Ci took a deep breath, he suddenly felt that something was wrong with his body. When he looked down, he said: “….. You, you, what are you doing?”

Bian Zhonghua spread his hands and laughed: “Hm? What did I do?”

Just now, Bian Zhonghua had tugged at Qi Ci several times, but instead of taking off his clothes, he had fixed them neatly. Qi Ci sat up and asked: “…You, do you have a weird fetish? Do you really want me fully dressed?”

Bian Zhonghua replied lightly: “I don’t have a fetish. It’s just that I’m not interested in you.”

Qi Ci glared at him, pursed his lips, and looked at Bian Zhonghua’s face. Qi Ci’s expression was struggling extremely, but in the end, he didn’t say anything. He simply laid down with a trace of despair at the bottom of his eyes. After a helpless laugh, he murmured: “Forget it….”

Bian Zhonghua, while supporting his head, laid on his side and laughed: “What do I have to forget? Just because I’m not interested in you, it doesn’t mean that I won’t help you get rid of the poison.”

Qi Ci turned his head: “You-…..”

Before he could say anything, Qi Ci’s lips were sealed by Bian Zhonghua’s mouth.

Qi Ci immediately felt his blood boiling all over his body. However, he quickly realized that this wasn’t a problem from his body, but because there was something that was surging out of his body, ruthlessly hitting his internal organs. Qi Ci’s qi1 and blood retrated, his meridians were disordered, his chest felt tight, his stomach ached, and he was short of breath. He subconsciously wanted to struggle.

Bian Zhonghua expected this reaction and held him firmly with his other hand, shackling him in his arms so that he couldn’t move.

Qi Ci felt that something inside his body was gradually surging up to his throat uncontrollably. Whenever that sensation reached, there was a sharp pain surging alongside, making him feel dizzy. When Bian Zhonghua released him just in time, Qi Ci threw himself to the bedside and coughed up a mouthful of blood. The moment the blood hit the ground, a cloud of black qi gathered in the center of it.

Bian Zhonghua’s eyes and hands were quick as he pulled out a silver dagger from his sleeve and stabbed the black qi on the ground. The black qi struggled and twisted several times, until it finally slowly disappeared into the air.

When Bian Zhonghua raised his hand, the small dagger on the ground rattled until it flew back to his palm. While Bian Zhonghua turned his head, he saw that Qi Ci was lying on the bed gasping for breath with a pale face. His whole body was curled up together, and his hands were almost pinched into the bed board trying to calm down the pain.

“The Madame is so vicious to put this kind of Gu worm inside of you. Even though it can be cured, the person who is poisoned with this kind of Gu worm will feel extreme pain, as if their skin were being torn open and their bones were being ripped out.” Bian Zhonghua looked at Qi Ci, and expressed ‘tsk-tsk’ twice.

The pain was so severe that it made Qi Ci feel a little confused. His brain was buzzing, and he couldn’t understand what Bian Zhonghua was saying to him.

Bian Zhonghua wanted to bring Qi Ci a cup of water so that he could drink it. But after realizing that the tea on the table was already used by him to wash his hands, he had to wait in place for a while. After seeing that Qi Ci seemed to feel less pain, he helped him lie down and pulled up the quilt to cover his body.

Qi Ci was physically and mentally exhausted, and soon, he passed out in a daze.

Bian Zhonghua quietly looked at Qi Ci’s sleeping face, reached out to wipe the blood from the corner of his mouth with his sleeve, and then walked towards the round table. As he looked at the empty porcelain plate on the table, he said: “Melon seeds are delicious, but it’s such a pity that they give too little, ah.”

After a long sigh, he blew out the candle on the table, submerging the chamber into a sudden darkness. Only the thin and cool moonlight entered through the window, falling on top of the lonely round table.

Qi Ci was awakened by someone beating him up.

Because he refused to receive any guests, he was punished every day, making him unable to sleep or eat well. This time, he was finally able to sleep as much as he wanted.

However, who would’ve known that the next morning, he would be slapped to the ground by the old Madame.
