Chapter 72 'I Agree!”



It was 5 am, perhaps because of feeling a slight discomfort while sleeping in a reclined position, Su Chen's eyebrows fluttered.

"Hmm?"

"What is this soft thing above me?"

Subconsciously, he squeezed a fleshy part.

"Kyaaaa?"

-Suddenly a low moan of a girl reverberated.

Su Chen, feeling the familiarity of the voice, instantly opened his eyes.

To his surprise, Mei Qing was sleeping on him.

Her hands and legs were wrapped all over him.

Because of her breasts being squeezed so tightly, her sleep was also forced awake.

Even though she had the habit of hugging her teddy bear while sleeping, she didn't dare explain anything about her actions.

In shame, she refused to open her eyes.

Su Chen, who had long seen the slight movements of her eyebrows, knew she was pretending.

"Get up, I know you are awake."

Hearing his words, Mei Qing knew it was useless to pretend.

Keeping her head down, she removed her entanglement over him.

But she was still sitting on his lap.

She knew the very next second, he may as well tell her to leave. Nothing had yet happened between them as falling asleep together was a mere coincidence.

Therefore, feeling that Su Chen was gonna open his mouth, she preceded him,

"Su Chen, I know what my heart wants!"

"I want you! Even if you don't want me, I want the chance to chase after you."

Su Chen's expression became a little complicated but he still decided to hear her, nevertheless.

"It was only when I was at my lowest did I realise that whom I considered my closest were actually the farthest from me, my dad, my uncles, my aunts, all the people for whom I worked hard….I was a fool for thinking and caring about them all the time."

"While the one whom I thought was the farthest was actually the closest and genuinely cared about me."

There was some mist in her eyes as she looked deeply at Su Chen's face.

Due to the dressing over her forehead along with her dishevelled hair and wrinkled clothes, she seemed like a patient.

Crying only made her face funnier. 

"Puffft!"

Su Chen couldn't control his laughter.

"Hmmmph"

Mei Qing pouted but dare not say any further word.

Now everything will depend on Su Chen's mood.

"Mei Qing, you know why I gave up on you?"

"You were like a star…"

"A star so far away in the starry-sky, shining so bright, and I wanted to make that star mine."

"That's why I tried my best to bring that star to earth, close to me…..so that it can only belong to me."

Su Chen took a deep sigh~

"But I realised the star was burning too fiercely! It burned with such a high temperature that everything would melt when it approached that star."

"In the end, I knew if I still kept pestering you, I would too burn away, my personality, my family, all the near and dear ones, everything close to me will melt and dissipate into nothing if I didn't stop."

"That's why I no longer pursued and gave up on that star."

Mei Qing bit her lips, she knew the underlying meaning behind his words, when I was sincere you never noticed me and remained aloof, now when I no longer have you in my heart, why are you here to bother me?

Su Chen took a deep breath, he had to admit that what she was saying was not completely wrong.

The anger and realisation when he saw her beaten yesterday, was not something that can be faked.

He shut his eyes, as his mind seemed to have lost in time, recalling many things that he did and what happened after he transmigrated and failed plots repeatedly.

For a second he thought, can he see any other man marry Mei Qing? Can he see her live happily without him?- Noo!..something deep inside strongly denied such a future, It was an instant answer. He knew at this point, his emotional self was fucked up, had he not got entangled with her in all those failed plots, had he not allowed her to enter his villa yesterday, maybe the things would be different? But it was too late to regret now.

Su Chen was someone who never regretted his actions.

"You won't be my main wife neither will you get the same love and affection as compared to my other girls!"

Mei Qing knew that she didn't deserve even a mistress position because of what she had done. As long as she could stay next to him, she was ready to take many steps back.

"You will no longer be a part of Mei Family nor will interfere with my plans regarding how to deal with them."

"Don't worry, you will instead work for me. It would be a pity if I do not use your talent."

This was a very important step as Su Chen was very well aware the next plot involved the Mei Family.

In the next arc, blood is gonna flow, it's best to be ready in advance.

There was a little hesitation on her face but that was only for a fleeting second, she remembered how all of them wanted to marry her to that Quan Fenrir.
