Chapter 21 The Phone-Call

(Back to the time when Su Chen was waiting for Chu Chenxi downstairs, who was busy getting ready to go out with him.)

Mom: Son, What happened? Why did you call me so early in the day?

Su Chen: Mom, I have now realised many things. I was naive before and couldn't understand your thoughts when you used to tell me that Mei Qing was not a good thing.

Su Chen: Mom, my eyes are finally opened and I can see everything clearly. There's no need to have a marriage contract with Mei Qing.

Mom: Are you sure? Is it a prank, right? You won't wake up tomorrow and say that you want that girl back? It took you nearly 3 years to make her family agree to a marriage contract with you..

Su Chen's mother, after hearing her son's words, her mood instantly lifted-up. She always wanted someone of equal status to become Su Chen's main wife. In the past, she tried her best to convince her son that Mei Qing was not a good thing, even after chasing her for so long she was unresponsive to her son's feelings. In her opinion, she took advantage of Su family's connections to make her own business bloom.

Su Chen: Mom, rest assured..given my handsome face just one word and so many top-girls are willing to become my girlfriend, why should I spend so much of my time on this Mei Qing who has always been cold to me.

Mom: Ohhh sonnnnn~~ your mind is finally working right!

At that moment, his mother became emotional and her sobs could be heard.

Su Chen felt a little guilty, in the past just to fulfil his role he acted as a licking dog ignoring his mother completely.

Su Chen: Don't cry mom! I promise I will come to the capital next week and spend some time with you.

Hearing her son's words, she finally stopped crying.

There was silence on the phone. After some seconds, taking a deep breath, his mother spoke again.

Mom: Since you have decided then I will support you to the fullest. Right now, in almost all our industries we have some form of cooperation with the Mei group. Actually, now that you talk about it, it's a fact that we account for almost 80% of Mei group's business.

Su Chen: Yes, I want to divide a line between us. How fast can we cut off everything with them?

Mom: Cancelling various agreements will force us to pay millions in penalties but it's not much, our Su group is the top business chain in the entire country. What're some million dollars in front of my son's happiness?

Su Chen after realising that the heroines could hear his thoughts was no longer the same as before. He quickly realised the reason Mei Qing was so adamant when he wanted to divorce her! He had already guessed that she wanted to stay close to him to take advantage by knowing the plot in advance. After all, who doesn't wanna hear what will happen to them in future?

After interacting with Chu Chenxi, he has become much more careful and rarely thinks about the future plot regarding the heroines in his mind lest they hear his inner voice and take advantage of him.

Mom: Don't worry son, everything will be done within half an hour!

Su Chen: I knew; My mom is the best!

The call was cut after his mom assured him that from now on Mei Group will have nothing to do with them.

An hour had already passed just like this, Su Chen calculated that Chu Chenxi should be coming downstairs anytime soon.

While he was sitting and waiting for her leisurely, his actions had already affected countless people.

Inside the Mei Family house, everyone was tense.

A family meeting with all the elders was called abruptly~

Just half an hour ago someone related to the Su family visited their home and handed them the documents confirming the unilateral cancellation of the marriage contract Mei Qing had with Su Chen, they were shocked and wanted to negotiate but a single call from Su Chen's mother who talked very domineeringly told them that something very serious had happened.

Before they could figure out what happened they started getting call after call from their company.

As they heard the details their scalp started getting numb

-The construction project with the Su family worth 900 million dollars is cancelled.

-The joint jewellery venture with the Su family worth 500 million dollars is cancelled.

-The pharmaceuticals business with the Su family worth 300 million dollars is cancelled.

-The 5-star hotel chains jointly run with the Su family worth at least a billion dollars were abruptly closed down.

This was not it.. soon the calls from the secretaries started coming.

-The banks want their loans back.

-The fire department and water department think there is something wrong with our designs and want to inspect everything.

-The workers want an increase in wages else all of them will quit.

The Su family deserved to be called a behemoth, with the strong financial and political power in the country it held.. within an hour the entire Mei family was brought to its knees.

Feeling the gravity of the situation, all family members were called to a sudden meeting, and everyone was looking at Mei Qing. All had a single thought in their mind- What did this girl do to anger the Su family?

Mei Qing was sharp and seeing everything she quickly realised the only one who could do this was Su Chen.

She was filled with anger, and without wasting a second, she directly dialled Su Chen's number.

In her mind, she still had the previous impression of Su Chen chasing after her. So what, if he got some cheats and is a villain now?.. In her mind, she can hear his inner thoughts and has an absolute advantage of knowing the plot in advance, she just needs to say a single word with a little bit of smile and even if it's plucking stars, Su Chen will rush to do things for her.

But the reality was sure to disappoint her, in the last few days, Su Chen's temperament had matured a lot and after knowing the truth from Chu Chenxi, he was no longer the same as before.

Su Chen, who was waiting for Chu Chenxi on the sofa saw his phone ringing. Seeing the caller's name, there was no surprise on his face

After ringing for a few seconds the call was finally connected.

Mei Qing: Su Chen, What are you doing? Immediately stop everything or my family will lose a lot of money!

Her voice was loud and sharp but before she could speak more she got interrupted.

Su Chen: I am just taking back everything I gave to you. What's wrong with it?

Mei Qing: Su Chen, youuuuu!

There was a light laughter as Su Chen's tone became playful.

Su Chen: Are you surprised? If it was not for the fact that you suddenly heard my inner thoughts and knew about your fate in advance, you would have long annulled our marriage contract and ran away with that Chu Fang, right?

Bang~

Like a volcano, an explosion erupted in Mei Qing's mind. The thought that Su Chen knows that she can hear his inner voice completely took her aback.

Before she could speak, Su Chen's voice interrupted her once again.

Su Chen: Mei Qing, it's already many years since I started chasing after you..but you were always indifferent to me, never paid any attention to my feelings …even though I foolishly tried my best to fulfil all your impossible demands, all I got were your sharp mocking remarks. Since there are no feelings between us, let's put an end to this!

Mei Qing's eyes widened, the shock was too much for her. She thought everything was a prank and the very next second Su Chen would explain everything to her but Su Chen directly hung up on her.

She tried calling again repeatedly but all she got was the response from the call operator- The number you have dialled is switched off.

Yes, after hanging up on her, Su Chen directly turned off his phone.

He didn't want his time with Chu Chenxi to be disturbed.
