Xie Jianwei’s eyes dimmed and he said with loss, “Yeah, you forgot.”

His tone made Little Skeleton’s bones shiver, and he said in a hurry, “I’ll be able to remember all of it when I recover my body…”

“You don’t have to remember..”  Xie Jianwei showed a reluctant smile, “…It doesn’t matter as long as you’re by my side.”

Little Skeleton, “But we had so much memories together. I want to remember it…”

“But I have no idea how to do so. I heard that long ago,  there were holy relics that can restore people’s memories, however those were just passed through rumors and had no  concrete record in the history at all.  I have no idea where to even  start finding it .” Xie Jianwei said a little helplessly.

Mr. Skeleton also felt very lost.

Xie Jianwei stretched out his arms and hugged him, then said, “It’s okay. We’ll just have to create more memories in the future and—  this time, don’t forget those, okay?”

He spoke softly, but Mr. Skeleton felt as if the heat was blowing through the thick cloak.  He couldn’t help hugging him back harder because of the bursts of numbness and yearning inside him.

Little Skeleton was gradually becoming proficient in voice transmission technique, and was also becoming more and more like Lu Li, “How many years have we been together?”

“Thirty-three years.” Xie Jianwei said softly.

“Were we always together?” Little Skeleton asked, feeling his non-existent heart tremble.

“Well, we were together….” Xie Jianwei said, “…all the time.”

He didn’t need to say too much, but this simple sentence gave Lu Li enough room for imagination.

For thirty-three years, they were at each other’s side day and night.

They loved each other deeply, and lived a fairy tale-like life.

What was Xie Jianwei like at that time? What was Xie Jianwei like when he’s with him throughout those days and nights? What was it like being deeply in love with Xie Jianwei during those times?

I really want to know! How could I forget such important memories? I want to remember all of it!

Little Skeleton asked again,  “Is there really no other way to retrieve my memory?”

Xie Jianwei sighed as he replied, “Maybe there is, but it’s not easy to find, and with your current situation, I’m afraid it won’t work. It’s better to recover your body first.”

“Why won’t it work?” Little Skeleton asked.

“I’m not sure, but that kind of sacred item usually needs a trace of living vitality to get activated. What you are now…”

Little Skeleton now understood. His chest was empty, so using that kind of precious thing without proper preparation would be risky.

Xie Jianwei figured that he was almost nearing the crucial point of this whole conversation, so he continued, “But if there is such a miraculous thing, you can use it after you get a body .”

“There must be!” Little Skeleton eagerly yearned. He wanted a body, memory, and peace. He wanted to recall their touching and affectionate past.

Xie Jianwei must have loved the old him, so he couldn’t lose that self and must  get everything back—whether it’s body or memory— neither one was indispensable!

Because he wanted to get Xie Jianwei’s love— his complete love.

Xie Jianwei smiled, “You believe such an item exists?”

“Yes.” Little Skeleton replied solemnly.

Xie Jianwei shook his head and coaxed him, “Okay. Since Ah- Li said there is, then there is.”

Little Skeleton obviously didn’t believe it at first, but the more these words stimulated Little Skeleton, the more he’s confirming the existence of the “sacred object”, making it possible for it to truly exist in the current dreamscape.

Yan Ke, who watched the whole process, felt that…it’s only because the Military Adviser’s  heart belonged to the Marshal that their galaxy hadn’t undergone major political changes…

Xie Jianwei continued to stimulate the Little Skeleton’s desire for the sacred object from another angle, such as the positions that they often do, such as his favorite posture, and other similar things.

.

Seven days later, the person Xie Jianwei sent out found the “sacred object”.

Lorren was shocked, “It really exists?”

Xie Jianwei looked at the jewel in his hand, cleared his throat and said, “ There are a lot of wonders in the world.”

Lorren said, “Can one really see their past through this?”

“Don’t touch it haphazardly. What if it can only be used once?”  Xie Jianwei said.

Lorren shook his head in awe, and said to Xie Jianwei, “You really are capable. For Lu Li, you can do anything.”

Yan Ke: In a certain sense, you are right again, Admiral… The Military Adviser really “made” that object, technically!

Little Skeleton was so excited. He couldn’t wait to see his memories right away. Xie Jianwei gave him a reminder, “Don’t worry, let’s use it after getting your body. We can’t activate it now since we don’t know if this is a single-use object. It would be such a waste if we use it now only for it to end up not working in the end.”

Little Skeleton was a little disappointed.

Xie Jianwei comforted him, “Sacred items are hard to find even after searching for thousands of years. We’re lucky enough to chance upon it, so you should cherish it.”

What he said was very reasonable, so the two “little fools” had no choice but to accept it.

Lorren, who got convinced, listened to his advise and  earnestly said, “Let’s wait. It would be a pity if we end up wasting it.”

Mr. Skeleton nodded, “Yes.”

“Don’t worry, I’ll keep it safe.” Xie Jianwei announced.

Yan Ke on the other hand, didn’t believe him at all. He asked, [My lord, Are you going to use this yourself?]

[No. It’s for the demon Lu Li.]

Yan Ke didn’t understand, [Why? If you use it yourself, you’ll be able to “recall” everything]

[I don’t belong to this dreamscape so there’s the case of  high instability.  Who knows what I would see after using it? Why waste it on something usure?]

What else could Yan Ke do besides admire the Military Advisers meticulous mind?

With that being said, using Lifael to activate it would be the most reliable method, so that he’d be able to know what happened with him, and if he’s lucky enough , he might also be able to see “that thing’s “ traces.

This would be killing two birds with one stone.

As for how to do that…

It wouldn’t be that difficult. Xie Jianwei was now a six-star grim reaper, so iit would be easy for him  to sneak into the Demon Real.  As long as he can get inside demon Lu Li’s bedroom and find his hair, it should be enough.

A few days later, Xie Jianwei found an excuse to go out alone.

His anti-reconnaissance ability was extremely strong, so he could clearly judge that no one was following him.

After sneaking into the demon world, he was able to enter demon  Lu Li’s bedroom which he found without much effort since Lu Li was like a big celebrity in the Demon Realm. He got a lot of information just by asking.

Xie Jianwei did his homework in advance and mastered Lu Li’s itinerary for the day: he won’t leave the Demon Realm because there’s a banquet happening, but he also wouldn’t return to his palace too early.

Calculating the time and distance, everything was just right.

Xie Jianwei found a piece of Lu Li’s hair, put it on the gem, and poured some magic, and the surrounding scene distorted.

With Xie Jianwei receiving the information at a fast pace, Yan Ke was so dizzy that he could hardly keep up with the large chunk of memory.

Seeing all of those scenes, Xie Jianwei came to a realization, no wonder the demon Lu Li hates “Xie Jianwei”, this… it was a really bad fate.

Flashback/demon Lu Li’s Memory>>>>>>

Hundreds of years ago, the Celestials and the Grim Reapers worked together for a period of time.

At that time, the Heavenly Realm dominated, and the demons were crushed so badly. Almost all of them shrank into the depths of the Demon Realm, not daring to take a half step.

This was the time when Lifael was in power, the peak and most glorious period of the heavens.

Originally, the Three Realms maintained a delicate balance outside the Human Realm, but now that balance had been broken, the demon’s desolate circumstances made the reapers unable to stay out of the matter as usual.

Lifael then suggested the Heavenly Realm and the Middle Realm to communicate more through an exchange.

The Gods of Death had to accept such a proposal even if they didn’t want to, because they’re not stupid—as the saying goes, whoever has the strongest strength could have their way and have the final say.

“Xie Jianwei” was just a three-star reaper back then. He wanted to get promoted to four-stars as soon as possible, so he accepted the exchange mission and chose to stay in the Heavenly Realm for a while.

Lorren also wanted to go, so the two went there together.

Although the grim reapers were called the Gods of Death, because of the nature of their work, they weren’t regarded as a gods. On the contrary, some human beings even fear them.

Angels hate demons and darkness, so they don’t like the gods of death either.

The grim reapers who participated in the exchange had to stay in the heavens for a long time therefore in order to blend in, they all decided to take off their black cloaks and put on the white clothes worn by the Celestials.  Although they didn’t have wings, they figured that they wouldn’t grab  that much attention by doing such a thing compared to how eye-catching a small touch of black in a large group of white.

But the thing was, after taking off the black cloaks, their appearance was also exposed.

The first angel who saw Xie Jianwei exclaimed, “So beautiful!”

Most of grim reapers looked like young men in their early adulthood, and with Xie Jianwei’s rare silver hair, matched with his pearl-like skin and delicate features, once changed into white clothes, he shone even more than the archangels.

He took off his robe to avoid catching anyone’s eyes, but everywhere Xie Jianwei, the crowd’s sight followed him. Especially when he and Loren were together; one was elegant and exquisite, the other was wild and handsome. If they could get money with just their looks, they’d get rich in an instant.

Within a few days of reaching the heavens, Lifael held a welcome ceremony for them.

He came forward in person, originally intending to leave with only a few polite remarks, but after seeing Xie Jianwei, he stayed.

The Supreme Archangel unexpectedly stayed at such a banquet, and it made the angels full of excitement.

Xie Jianwei also looked at him a few more times.

It was really hard not to stare at him, with his shimmering golden six wings, gorgeous face and handsome figure.

If the Creator had a favorite, then this being was definitely it.

So dazzling and so powerful, who could ignore him?

Lifael also kept on looking at Xie Jianwei. He made no secret of his interest in him

During the banquet, Xie Jianwei tried to stay calm but he kept on feeling thirsty. In the end, he couldn’t help but reach for the fruit wine in front of him. This type of wine had a sweet and non-astringent flavor, but nonetheless intoxicating even without any alcohol. Caught off guard with how good it tasted, Xie Jianwei ended up drinking too much.

Lorren had already gone off to who knows where searching for beauties so Xie Jianwei who was left all alone, had to stand up shakily without help.

But then, a big warm hand suddenly supported him.

Xie Jianwei, still standing shakily, tried to pull out his arm from another’s grasp, but the person who came to help refused to let go, “Do you want to go out to get some fresh air?”

Xie Jianwei’s heart trembled upon hearing the sweet low voice.
