Eve, in its paladin mode, jumps.

The recoil makes the ground shake, and creates waves in the nearby sea.

It jumps really high, easily going higher than Seilook.

Seilook fires another dragon breath, this time aimed at Eve. From where Seilook is, Eve is diagonally upwards, so Seilook had to lift its head and open its mouth wide.

“Eve. Cut.”

Eve responds to my whisper and swings its sword.

The red divine protection light paints an arc in the air, before the giant sword makes contact with the dragon breath.

They’re evenly balanced for just a second, before the sword easily cuts through the dragon breath.

The dragon breath turns into fragments of light and scatters, falling to the ground like countless meteors. Each one creates a small explosion when it touches down on the ground, and they leave small craters everywhere.

I don’t need our bond to know that Seilook is flustered.

It twists its body to escape from Eve’s sword, but it can’t fully dodge, and one of its wings is cut through the middle.

The sword keeps going after cutting away the wing, and is swung right into the sea, splitting it.

The water is split as far as I can see, exposing the seabed. But this also means the water pushed aside creates a big tsunami that moves towards the coast.

Rose’s vines slither their way to me, create a platform beneath my feet, and raise me above the water.

“Thanks Rose. Now I won’t get wet.”

I look towards Araysla to see what she’s up to, and see her still hovering in the same place.

When the wave finally reaches us, it avoids Araysla like it has a mind of its own, as it advances further inland.

“Is she telling me she doesn’t even need to dodge that?”

I ask no one in particular, and Rose nods.

That said, she does look annoyed.

I see an expression on her face that I can’t imagine Taula making. It makes me feel really uncomfortable.

I don’t want Taula to keep making that face.

With this new resolve in mind, I give Eve its next instructions.

“Eve, pierce. Everything coming, and everything getting away.”

Eve responds to my voice, and holds the sword horizontally, ready to thrust.

The next moment, the red divine protection blade splits into many thin and long blades. They float from the handle and line up in the air.

Eve bends its giant body, and thrusts with all its strength.
