I check the condition of Roa’s dear spear once again.

The 《Transcribe》 scroll I activated earlier moves along with me, and hovers slowly left to right above Roa’s spear.

The metal collar in the shaft is loose, and the tip has been removed.

“They said the handle was made from plant type monsters’ materials…”

They told me they used materials from a treant type monster that lives in their homeland. Apparently it was a particularly big one too, and both of their spears were carved from the same monster.

I check the handle with the transcribe scroll, and see it has a lot of metallic ions with a high percentage of magic elements.

“Ahri and Roa fight by enveloping their spears with magic elements, so this is the perfect material. The problem is that I can’t get materials from the same plant type monster…”

I have a problem.

Infusing magic elements into the materials themselves is well within the realm of alchemy, but making materials that have good magic element conductivity is a different story.

“I was thinking I should just make a new handle, since the tip itself is fine, but…”

I place the tip of Roa’s spear on the table, and look at the materials in my backpack again.

“Strong enough, ideal weight, and big enough to be a spear’s handle. And it needs to have good magic element conductivity…”

I rummage through my backpack and take things out.

“I don’t have anything. All I can do is make something.”

I take out a scroll I use to take notes, and write the necessary measures, steps I can take, and all the ideas that I can think of.

“Even if I want to transmute something, in the end I just don’t have the materials. And putting things together like that is going to take a big toll on how tough it is… Hm, what about a transmuted beast…”

I stop writing. And then I start again, and write the ideas that are overflowing from my mind without stopping my hand.

“Could this work? It would consume magic stones, or rather, it works by absorbing them… But then the shape of the whole thing… Roa prefers her weapons to be lighter, so… I know. It could be like Rose, and part of it could appear from the air via a 《Manifest》 scroll…”

I look at Rose, swaying in front of me, and add additional ideas.

“Done.”

I look again at what I wrote.

“I should make it in time if I spend the next two nights working on it.”

I check my stock of stamina potions, roll the scroll in my hand, and head to the laboratory of the Kagero Institute in high spirits.
