Name:The Fallen Merman Author:
Bai Chunian drew a silvery white arc in the dawn sky, then landed on the ocean’s surface.

His hair was snow-white, his pupils had already fully changed into the same dark sapphire eyes as that of a white lion, and his nails became long and sharp; close to becoming animal claws. Only the sharp canines in his mouth were imprisoned by the muzzle, which prevented him from opening his jaw.

The muzzle seemed to be formed from hydrated steel. However, it wasn’t made from condensing seawater, rather, from absorbing the blood of Eris’ severed arm and the color black instead of the normal blue.

Because he was wearing the king’s shackles, the sea responded to him. By default, Bai Chunian came here under the command of the Sea God, and the sea actually supported Bai Chunian’s body. He landed on all fours on the water, the surface as hard and smooth as the surface of ice.

In fact, it wasn’t like Bai Chunian wasn’t aware of what had transpired when he had lost consciousness and went out of control at M Harbor. Since the others didn’t speak of it, Bai Chunian could only pretend that they didn’t know, or perhaps they were pretending they didn’t know so as to not give him any pressure. In any case, whichever reason it was, Bai Chunian was still grateful he could continue walking in the light.

As to how Rimbaud could evolve to a mature experimental subject in such a short period of time, Bai Chunian had already had an inkling in his heart—it was just that the two of them tacitly didn’t bring it up.

The Divine Envoy’s body contained such immense energy that even Bai Chunian himself was afraid of it at times. At the time, the Research Institute made a mistake and chose Electro-optic Phantom out of the two of them. However, they didn’t expect that Bai Chunian wouldn’t die from his wounds; he relied on the little vitality given by Rimbaud and survived tenaciously. In fact, only a few people know the true strength of the Divine Envoy so far.

When participating in missions, Bai Chunian stayed in the command position more often and rarely took action by himself. In addition to not wanting to be found out, it was also because if the energy spills accidentally, it was very easy to trigger his higher-grade differentiation ability, and the consequences would be unpredictable.

He was born as a spec ops weapon with a killing instinct in his bones. Not once had Bai Chunian enjoyed the pleasure of fighting to his heart’s content, because once he went wild, he wasn’t sure if he could revert back.

Knicks lowered his eyes and said to Rimbaud, “There’s a lot of people in this world who think they’re so clever, but the real smart ones are just a few. Fortunately, fools live in their own fantasies, and all they see is stupid, so they can feel at ease. Since you guys are standing on the humans’ side, be prepared to be destroyed by their stupidity.”

Rimbaud coldly stared at him. “What God does is not something for mere mortals to judge. I’m not standing on anybody’s side—watching mankind destroy themselves, and watching you guys walk into the abyss, is the joy of my life.”

Soaking in the water, Eris shook his arm. His forearm that was severed by the white lion claws grew back again, but his sleeve was completely ruined. It was ripped to shreds and most likely couldn’t be fixed.

“My clothes.” Eris picked up the cuff that fell into the sea, put it back on his hand, and used his cursed golden thread to crudely stitch the ripped parts together.

He turned to look up at Puppet Master on the helicopter. Knicks kept his gaze on Bai Chunian, observing Bai Chunian’s every move without sparing him a glance.

“…” Eris clenched his fists while soaked in the water, the seawater flowing through his fingers.

Bai Chunian didn’t give him a chance to catch his breath, he leaped high from the water’s surface and rushed toward Eris through the air, both his hands’ sharp claws carving into Eris shoulders.

The target connected by the cursed golden thread will suffer the equivalent damage. If Bai Chunian really made a move, he and Eris would be turned into minced meat under the white lion’s claws.

But at this moment, Bai Chunian had already unleashed his power; it wasn’t something he could retract in time just because he wanted to. Seeing that he was about to be destroyed together with Cursemaker, the chains connected to the muzzle suddenly tighten.

The muzzle started from the nose, locked the canines and lower jaw, and the lower part extended to the neck. The retractable collar around his neck and the chain formed a slipknot that contracted when tightened. When the chain was tightened, Bai Chunian suddenly felt his neck being tightly bound, and the overflowing power was instantly contained.

He was like a large beast being told “No” by the tamer, he halted his claws and drooped his ears, then rolled over and fell into the water.

Rimbaud was underwater. It was him who tightened the chains in his hand. Bai Chunian sank into the water on his back and fell into Rimbaud’s hands.

His cool blue fish tail turned into a flame color, and the scales became a shining gold. His associated ability obtained by injecting the HD agent consumed little of his gland energy. Although there was a long cooldown period between two uses, it would automatically select the most appropriate ability release time with its sixth sense without needing deliberate control.

There was an approaching noise from the distant sky, the sound of helicopter propellers was getting closer, and a helicopter painted with the IOA logo emerged from the horizon in the distance.

A shimmering soft feather flew over from the sky and landed on Bai Chunian’s head—the cursed golden thread attached to his wrist was instantly dispelled.

As the helicopter approached, Xiao Xun put the sniper rifle on a sling, closed his left eye and stared at Eris in the scope. Eris and Bai Chunian were very close to each other, but after Rimbaud had dragged him into the water, the target was exposed within the scope. Xiao Xun pulled the trigger indifferently and a sniper bullet hit the back of Eris’ head.

The mark of his M2 ability, Hunt Back Lock On, formed on Eris, and the target’s position was shared with his teammates.

Stray bullets that were shot indiscriminately penetrated Eris’ body. At this moment, Eris was completely exhausted and sank into the raging sea water. He half closed his eyes and looked in the direction of Puppet Master; his raised hand was also swallowed by the sea water.

Lu Yan was piloting while Bi Lanxing was ordering in the communicator, “Protect them. Aim and shoot down the enemy’s helicopter with missiles.

“OK!” Lu Yan skillfully flipped a few switches on the operation panel and the hatch under the armed helicopter opened. A missile aimed at the smoking helicopter being piloted by Puppet Master. The helicopter didn’t look like it could survive another explosion.

A melodic sound suddenly could be heard clearly, the missile hit a layer of rainbow barrier, causing the missile to explode ahead of time. The sky-shattering loud noise led to a ringing in the ears and dizziness to the surrounding people. The shock wave aroused waves.

The smoke from the explosion dispersed, and a golden and jade-colored figure appeared in the sky. She was floating in the air, the greenish blue wings behind her were slowly flapping. She had no clothes to cover her body, her whole body was a translucent white, and her feminine appearance was beautiful and stunning.

The golden, green and blue peacock tail feathers extending from her tailbone fluttered and bloomed, and a starry, circular rainbow haze enveloped her.

The radiant barrier absorbed the energy coming from the missile explosion and suddenly exploded into pieces. With the same explosive force, the rosy haze fragments were blown back like rain.

Her J1 ability, Secondary Rainbow For Clothes, could absorb 70% of the opponent’s attack damage and bounce it back as explosive fragments.

Odd Bones was awakened from her dormant state and blocked the fatal blow for them. However, the repercussions left by the incomplete cultivation time made her very unstable. After using her J1 ability once, she retracted her tail feathers, closed her eyes and fell asleep.

But this was already enough to buy time for Puppet Master and the others.

Sarcosuchus caught Odd Bones who was falling down from the sky like a feather. Knicks maneuvered the helicopter to withdraw, his left hand released fine puppet strings and fished out Eris—who had been shot several times and was bruised all over—from the sea, pulled him into the helicopter and fled.

“Next time I hope you guys are as lucky as today.” The helicopter steered away from firing distance, only leaving behind the lingering sound of Knicks’ voice in the sky.

Good news came from the Storm Forces in the communicator. Captain He said that they had captured the experimental subject Magic Voice Sky Cicada alive, and the Thunder Support Team had arrived at the Berna Pharmaceutical Factory.

Bi Lanxing answered on behalf of Bai Chunian, “The HD agent has been destroyed. Puppet Master and the others only fled with an experimental subject in the middle of cultivation.”

Han Xingqian connected with Dr. Charles from the Thunder Support Team and told them, “We have found a few survivors in the basement of the inner floor of the pharmaceutical factory, along with their living hostages for illegal experiments, which I have taken photos of.”

“Did Chu-ge get hurt?” Lu Yan sent down the rope ladder to pull up Rimbaud and Bai Chunian. However, Rimbaud took Bai Chunian by the collar and into the water, swung his tail and disappeared.

Bai Chunian’s consciousness was still clear, he was just tired, and he liked being carried around like this by Rimbaud, so he stayed silent and experienced the feeling of taking a high-speed submarine cable car.

Rimbaud took him and swam to a round island with only one coconut tree. Rather than saying it was an island, it was better to say that it was a round skerry floating in the sea. It was unknown which tropical area it floated here from, but only Rimbaud was able to find it.

Rimbaud gently dragged Bai Chunian ashore and buried him in dry warm sand.

Bai Chunian extended a hand. “I want you to hold me.”

Rimbaud crawled next to him. “My body is really cold, I’ll freeze you.”

Bai Chunian rolled out of the sand and hugged Rimbaud’s waist. “I don’t dislike the cold.”

“Alright.” Rimbaud sat on the beach, looked down at him, and put his hand behind his neck to help remove the chain of his muzzle.

“Don’t take it off yet.” Bai Chunian closed his eyes, stopped him, and said in a hoarse voice, “I really like this thing.”

“Really?” Rimbaud raised his hand with the chain held in his palm. “Whenever I tighten it, it will strangle you and hurt you.”

“I don’t care.”

Rimbaud gently hugged him and released soothing pheromones to heal his damaged gland. He put his palm on the back of his neck and rubbed it.

Bai Chunian lay sideways on his raised fishtail, his eyelids wanting to close but tried to stay open.

“Randi.” Rimbaud rarely spoke to him seriously. “Although we are married, we have only been kissing so far, so you probably don’t feel it, but I’m actually pursuing you right now.”

“Eh?” Bai Chunian pricked up his ears, grinning with his canines exposed. “What are you saying? You don’t know how much you mean to me.”

“But you don’t want to make love with me.”

“…That’s not true, I want to ah, I think about it day and night.”

“Because you revere me in your heart, so you can’t violate me. At first I fell in love with you because of this, but now I’m very distressed because of it.” Rimbaud shook his head, looking really troubled.

“I didn’t know.” Bai Chunian sat up. He was much taller than Rimbaud, with broader shoulders and back muscles. He squatted in front of Rimbaud like a big tame cat, his white fluffy ears sometimes perked up, sometimes drooped down in his white hair.

“I always think that you’re beautiful. Every time I want to touch you more, it makes me feel like I’m dirtying you. Once that thought arises, it would always overwhelm me with more guilt.”

“You can do it now.” Rimbaud lifted his chin. “I want to give you more things.”

Bai Chunian hesitated for a moment.

“If I think it hurts I will pull on the chain.” Rimbaud raised a hand, holding the thin chain connected to Bai Chunian’s muzzle. “A good child should be rewarded. You deserve this—it’s not because I said so, or for breeding, or for others.”

The figure of the slightly white lionized Bai Chunian had been somewhat strengthened, while the characteristics of the white lion on him were still preserved. He pressed down on Rimbaud, propped his hands on the beach, and kneeled on the ground. He watched Rimbaud from above. This position wasn’t like oppression, but more like worship.

He reverently entered Rimbaud. Due to the binding force of the muzzle, the barbs on his lower half were softened to an extent.

Rimbaud was half lying under the coconut tree, his hands hooked onto Bai Chunian’s nape and rubbing his burning hot gland while telling him what to do next.

“How obedient.” Rimbaud stroked his hair and gently pinched his snow-white and fluffy ears.

Bai Chunian leaned his head close to Rimbaud’s ear, and said in a clingy voice, “Meow.”
