Chapter 210 - Valley Continued.

"Hey...is brother Hao here yet?"

The female guard turned around mechanically, still under pressure emanating from dark limb and replied regretfully, "P-Princess, Hao Xuan is dead..."

The poison in Ma Yu's body was strong and it started acting up as soon as she tried to make any movements.

"No.....he's....coming.." she mumbled under her breath before passing out from the pain once again. Her right hand which was clenched tightly slowly opened and a small coin fell out. Everyone else was busy with what was happening that no one noticed the coin.

On the coin were two small blinking dots. One represented the coin itself, while other was connected to something else. But the odd thing was, the distance between the dots was decreasing continuously. Every second, the dots were getting closer and closer together.

*GROOOWL*

*Shrieeeek*

*Hooowl*

The undead creatures let out various noises that instilled fear and dread in the hearts of everyone present.

And how could they not be afraid? There was a humungous creature trying to come through into this world and from the looks of it, it would get here before they could leave.

The dark limb slowly receded back into the gate and the pressure vanished.

The humans slowly stood up. Fatigue and weariness taking its toll on them.

"I-Is it gone?" someone mumbled to themselves but it was so quiet that everyone heard it. But no one responded. They knew it wasn't. It was already successful in making a crack in the world's resistance, why would it just leave?

Zeng Yu slowly stood up and cleaned the dust off his clothes.

"Get ready! Just 10 more minutes and then we're good to go!" he shouted as loudly as his body would allow him to.

His voice reverberated in the valley. But before anyone could do anything, a cacophony of ear-piercing sounds came from every single direction.

Ma Qigong tightened his grip on the two bronze-like daggers in his hand and looked around. But no matter how hard he squinted, his vision was still limited.

Zeng Wu waved his hand and took out a cylindrical object.

"Let there be light," he rubbed the bottom of the object and a flare shot up into the dark sky, lighting up everything within the radius of two kilometers.

Hou Chin stretched her neck and looked out in the direction closest to her, "GASP!"

Several people visibly trembled.

From the entrance of the valley all the way to just a few hundred meters away from the defensive formation, whether it was the tall walls on the sides or above them, every single inch of space was filled with multitudes of horrendous looking creatures.

As far as the eye could see, there was only the army of undead in sight. (Authors Notes)

Some with multiple limbs, some with multiple heads, some just a meter tall, some over fifty meters, there was every type of appalling creature one could ever imagine within its ranks, all looking at the last of the living beings left on that dreaded planet.

The few people that had managed to stand up felt their legs go weak and fell back down lifelessly.

"We....are doomed..." Hyson mumbled with vacant eyes as he looked around.

From just an initial observation, there were hundreds of thousands of them. And how many of them were left? A little over fifty. There was simply no chance.

"I...I don't want to die like this, in the hands of these...fiends," Kramson muttered while shaking his head, he grabbed Rong Li's shoulder, "Please, can you...f-finish me? Just one quick slash, that's all!" he pointed at his neck.

Rong Li had tears in his eyes. He acted tough and cheerful in front of others, but it wasn't like he couldn't feel fear. He was only a teenager that had stepped out in the foreign world for the first time just a few weeks ago. How was he to deal with this when even his seniors had given up?

"S-Senior Brother, please don't say that, please, we can go home, the rift is right there!" he said with tears coming down his face as he pointed at the rift behind them.

Kramson took out his sword and put it in his hand, "Please, as a favor to me, just help this once?" he said with crazed eyes.

"N-NO!" Rong Li threw away the sword like it was burning coal and crawled back. He hugged his own legs, sitting in a fetal position, "Every-everything will be okay...it will be okay...we can go home soon..."

The mental toll of the past month had already been too much. And seeing the impending doom, several people finally cracked.

Hou Chin was crying as well, hugging the only guard that was left beside her. All others perished along the way. They didn't have time to mourn their loss, and now they were going to join them as well?

Shi Chun crawled up to the unconscious Ma Yu and held her hand. It was getting colder by the minute.

"I'm sorry princess, I promise, if we were to meet in the next life, I will treat you better," he said lightly and kissed her hand.

Both Shi Long and Ma Qigong had many thoughts going through their heads. They had lived a long time and seen many things. To them, death was inevitable and a normal part of life, so this didn't bother them too much.

What did bother them was dying so far away from their homes. Humans were like that. When the time came, no matter how strong they were, home was one place that would bring them comfort.
