Chapter 112 - $$$

Hao Xuan nodded his head at Yun Wentian's attitude. His etiquette was not that of a child but a matured adult.

"Raise your head," he said with a wave of his hand. Yun Wentian got up and looked at him with a new light in his eyes.

"The HQ messaged me about the next mission. The plans for a new city have been approved so I have to go and find an appropriate location for it. But before that, I have to buy a few essentials so it will take a little bit of time," he paused and looked at Wentian.

"I want you to clean this place up and prepare a bath for me. I'll be back around the afternoon. Don't go outside needlessly. If Zhurong wakes up then use this ring to make a meal for yourselves. He doesn't like raw meat so cook it properly. If you don't know how to, then look it up," he patted his head and threw him a storage ring and walked out before Yun Wentian could say anything.

"..why do I feel like this is more like a servants job than a student's..." he mumbled as Hao Xuan's back vanished through the door.

Meanwhile, in a large mansion in the most high-end area of Fortuna city, a half-eaten corpse was laying in front of a group of men.

"Nooo! My son!!! How could this happen?!?" a middle-aged man bent over the corpse wailing. This was the corpse was of Mu Taio and the man was his father, Mu Qu.

"Why would he do this?! He had everything, EVERYTHING! Why??" he asked looking at the corpse which wasn't even identifiable. Half the face and most of the body was missing. Some parts looked like they were half digested.

"No! He wouldn't do this. I know my son better than anyone else, he would never do something like this," he shook his head like a crazy person.

"Find everything that happened in the last two weeks before his death. Investigate everyone that interacted with him. There must be a reason why he did this!" he ordered the dozen or so strong men in front of him.

"Yes sir!" they all saluted and walked out.

"And YOU!" he turned around and looked at a young man behind him who was standing with his head hung low.

"You utter trash! What the fuck were you doing?! Your only brother was going through god knows what while you were off fucking every whore in sight?! Is this why I raised you?!" he waved his hand a whip appeared.

*Crack*

He swung the whip with everything he had and hit the young man who was sent flying away.

"Why couldn't it be you?! Why did it have to be my precious son?! Why couldn't it be this god damned trash?!" he shouted while continuously hitting the young man.

This was the oldest young master of the Mu clan, Mu Shuo. From the outside it looked he had everything but since the day he was born he had never felt a loving touch from anyone.

His mother died during childbirth and Mu Qu, his father blamed him for it. He was raised by maids and never once had anyone that really cared for him.

Always trying to please his father, he achieved many great things but nothing was good enough. He had even treated Mu Taio like a real sibling and loved him dearly, despite always being the lesser one in the relationship.

"Father, please! I'm sorry, I'm sorry!" he shouted while Mu QU rained down one blow after another. The cracking of the whip sounded for several more minutes in the empty mansion until there was blood all over the floor and Mu Shuo looked like he had been skinned alive.

*Huff*Huff*

Mu Qu stood over him while breathing heavily, "Why don't you just die? What good are you?" he mumbled for the last time and walked off.

A few minutes later an old woman slowly walked over, picked up the now unconscious Mu Shuo and disappeared.

Hao Xuan walked into the main hall of the mountain and logged in.

"Congratulations Captain Deimos, you have received new points," was the first notification he got.

He clicked on it and he was taken to a new page. The total number of points at the top of the page was at 2500 now.

"Nice, that's more than I had expected," he smiled.

"What to buy? New technique? Manual? Something else?" he thought while browsing the store. He was redirected to the technique page by default but there were a lot of other things for sale as well.

There was a list of Demonic and Spirit beasts that were available for purchase, but even the cheapest one was for 1500 points.

He scrolled through and went to the most popular and saw many weapons, mounts, even a few 'vehicles'.

These vehicles were all very different. Most weren't made for combat and were only used for travel. Some looked like motorbikes from earth, they were the fastest ones. Some looked like tanks but without the canons. Some were like luxury cars etc.

But none of them had any wheels. All of them had built in formations and needed spirit crystals to functions. They were more like hovercrafts as they floated above the ground with the help of formations.

"I never really thought about it but there are formations for literally everything huh? Formations masters would be filthy rich, wouldn't they? Should I learn some?" he thought looking at the prices. Even the cheapest vehicle which looked like a matchbox was for 5000 points.

"Damn it. I can't afford none of this," the more browsed, the more annoyed he got. Until he remembered his earning from the Death Walk.

"Oh yeah, how could I forget about that?!" he logged out of the screen and checked his Spirit band. There indeed was an email from the Nation Bank of Mei. They had deposited the full 500 Million gold. He got a bit dizzy after seeing all the zeros in his account.

"Hahaha, I'm filthy rich baby! It's a shame I can't use these to buy stuff from the military portal. But when there's a will, there's a way," he nodded his head. He looked at the spirit band again and made a call.

"Sixth brother, are you free? I need a favor."

"Sure, I'm in the city right now, can you meet me here?" Sixth sounded a bit too excited to hear from him.

"Um, sure," Hao Xuan hesitated for a second but then agreed. Sixth's family was very rich and owned many businesses. It was a good idea to ask him for some info and help. They would definitely have some connections.
