Chapter 74 - Collision

Cultivation was a way for mortals to break free from the norm and reach a higher position in the universe. So through it, they could bring about great changes in themselves and the world around them, one of them were these bloodlines.

When a cultivator reached a certain realm, they would be able to pass down their powers and even abilities in some instances to their offsprings. That was the reason for the existence of many ancient clans. At one point or another in time, they had an extremely powerful cultivator in their ancestry who was able to pass down his or her bloodline, thus laying the groundwork for a new power.

These bloodlines could be anything, there was basically a certain chance for their descendants to be born with an exceptional ability or power that their ancestor had.

Some like the Jia could gain an increase in small realms, some could be born with special attributes like the Mei Clan, some could be born with an affinity towards a certain element etc. The variations were endless.

The three Spirit Realm cultivators of Mad Saints were fighting with everything they had and rest were engaged with the new regiment.

Trying to keep things lowkey, no one was using any big techniques but that was bound to change sooner or later, lest they wanted to die an early death.

Hao Xuan fought two soldiers at once, with the boost from Infernal Rapture and Emperors Arrival, he was flashing around the battlefield like a fiend, striking any enemy soldier that let his guard down for even the slightest moment.

Although things weren't that much in their favor, it wasn't totally one-sided.

Jiang Ling looked at the ongoing fight and furrowed his brow. Without using any Qi this battle would last for a long time, time which he didn't have.

"No choice, I will join the fight as well. Stand guard," he ordered Monk and took off his robe.

His muscles looked like they were chiseled from stone, looking extremely sturdy. His skin color was golden-brown and under the sunlight he looked like a statue made out of a precious metal.

Hao Xuan felt a disturbance in the atmosphere and turned around to see where it was coming from and his eyes constricted when he looked at Jiang Ling.

"What is that..." he mumbled in a daze, there seemed to be a golden aura surrounding Jiang Ling which was getting thicker by the second.

"Not good!" he got a very bad feeling all of a sudden and out of pure instinct, moved back one meter and the ground where he was standing a second ago turned into razor-sharp spikes and came protruding out like a jaw of a demonic beast.

"Hoh, how did you dodge that?" Jiang Ling said with half a smile, "No matter, this will be the end," he shook his hands and the ground started shaking.

"EVERYONE MOVE BACK!" Hao Xuan shouted with full force and threw his sword towards Jiang Ling like a spear.

*Ding*

A wall of mud appeared in front of him and the sword pierced it but that was the limit. It couldn't move an inch after going about halfway through.

Jiang Ling closed his eyes and breathed in, the earth trembled once again and the golden color of his skin got even thicker, almost looking like a pure gold statue.

This was his bloodline limit. The bloodline of the Ancient Earthen Giants. They could control the earth as if it was a part of their own bodies and have sturdier builds than diamonds.

Nothing could pierce their thick armor-like skins and allowing them to go on a rampage without having to worry about sneak attacks.

"AHHHHHHH" with a shout and a roar, his size kept increasing until he was even taller than Jia soldier, at about 18 feet.

"Now, we shall fight," he looked at Hao Xuan with a contemptuous gaze and shot forward like a bullet.

Hao Xuan, of course, didn't back down from the challenge and in a fit of rage, melded Infernal Rapture with Wrath of Deimos, giving his armor a blackish hue.

Along with the glass-like structure and its own red color, now the armor looked like it had small black snakes wriggling all around it.

"AHHHHH" with a loud shout of his own, Hao Xuan used Heavenly Blare and collided head first with Jiang Ling.

From afar, it looked like a streak of yellow colliding with a streak of red, with only one result.

*BOOOOM*

Everyone and everything around them was sent flying dozens of meters away.

"What the hell are they?!" Luke said with a horrified expression. He was a realm higher than Hao Xuan but there was still no way for him to go head-to-head against a power like that.

They all stopped fighting and were just looking at the place where they had collided. The dust was obstructing their vision and they couldn't see clearly, but there was only one silhouette visible.

After a minute or so, the dust settled and Kuo's expression turned ugly. There was only Jiang Ling standing in a large ditch with Hao Xuan not even in sight.

"C-Captain?!?!" Looking at Jiang Ling, Aria blurted out unconsciously.

Jiang Ling was standing in a striking pose with his elbow stretched out. He slowly looked up, "I kind of used a bit too much power. I'm surprised you're alive."

Everyone followed his line of sight and finally saw Hao Xuan embedded on the side of the ravine behind them, more than 50 meters away. His entire chest was completely caved in and blood was coming out of his eyes, nose, and ears.

With bloody eyes, Hao Xuan slowly looked up at him with effort and then his head went limp.

"CAAPTAIN!" Kuo shouted in panic and rushed towards him at full speed.

He slowly took Hao Xuan out and put him on the ground. He was barely hanging on by a thread.

Jiang Ling stood in his place and didn't make a single move, allowing Kuo to treat Hao Xuan. His own body was scratchless and obviously, the previous collision meant nothing.

"Seventh Stage Spirit Realm, no wonder," Jin Wang said in a praising tone while looking at Jiang Ling.

"S-Seventh Stage?!?!" Maddy repeated in disbelief.

They were all shocked to their core. The previously unassuming young man was at such a high realm?!?
