Plant Mage 39

Flowerkin (4)

Ahaha, the girl was trembling.

She can’t even speak properly.

Then, Navi speaks in an inhuman voice.

「It is a common theory that flowerkins don’t understand people’s language because they don’t live in settled lands.」

「I see.」

The girl is holding a seedling with great care.

It seems like she has a reason why she had to raise those seedlings to the point that she planted one on someone else’s field without permission.

「Don’t worry, it’s okay.」

The girl’s expression relaxed when she heard me say that.

「….what’s your name?」

「Fu, rau」

「Frau?」

The flower girl nodded so hard that she looked like she was headbanging.

「R-right desu! Frau, my,  name is Frau nano desu!」

She’s speaking with a very heavy accent.

Though I should be glad that she was able to communicate with us.

It seems like she can understand simple words but it’s enough to communicate with us.

「My specialty is plant magic and I’m a former court mage---」

If I can reassure the other party with my title, it’s a small price to pay.

This place is a wasteland after all. There are no rumors about me or anyone.

However, the girl looks confused.

「……….?」

Hohou. I can only groan.

This girl has no knowledge of court mages. She had never heard of brave of aggression either.

This girl is definitely not a threat to my secluded leisurely life.

And in addition,

I finally understood the condition of the spring berry.

「I can cure this seedling’s disease.」

「……ah, eh?」

The girl’s eyes lit up.

Back in the field, I squat down before the spring berry.

Next to me is Frau, a flowerkin.

「It’s not watered enough and is iron deficient. Berries, including spring berries, are iron-eating plants.」

I explained and sowed the iron powder I was carrying in the field.

Since I only loosened the soil yesterday, I did not check the composition of the soil.

「Sowing iron powder is just first aid. Though you wanted to raise those seedlings of yours, this should be enough.」

「………y-yeah.」

Frau nods.

Do you understand what I’m saying?

While working, I wasn’t able to measure the sense of distance of the girl to me.
