Chapter 3 Passing The Cultivation Entrance Test

Shen Lie was taken to the cultivation testing chamber within the outer court by a female elder and she was accompanied by dozens of outer court protégés who were dying to see him being the butt of a joke.

Elder Hua Zixia did not stay because she was in a hurry to see Saintess Sheng Feiyan so she left the matter of the cultivation testing to her protégé sister Elder Li Hong.

Li Hong being an elder was impolite to Shen Lie because she was a Bronze Core cultivator of the outer court. No matter how beautiful or handsome this Shen Lie was, he would soon fade away as a low level cultivator while she still has a long youthful life ahead of her.

She took Shen Lie to a pool and said indifferently, "There is a spiritual array inside this pool. Put your hands into the pool and infused your profound strength into it. If you are able to cause the waters of this pool to stir then you are indeed at the Qi Condensation level."

Shen Lie nodded as he smiled to Li Hong, "I am indeed so lucky to be served by such a beautiful elder. A beautiful maiden like you will surely have many suitors?"

Li Hong was stunned by Shen Lie and she was suddenly flushing under the meaningful glances of this beautiful man. She stammered but it was suddenly polite now, "Go try the pool and take your time. If you are unable to pass, you can consider coming back next year. Today happens to be the last day of testing for the new cultivators. Consider yourself lucky to have made it in time to the Holy Maiden Sanctuary."

She had accidentally talked more than necessary.

Shen Lie nodded and put his hands into his hand into the pool, "Like this?"

Li Hong nodded quietly and dozens of outer court protégés began to crowd around to watch whether if Shen Lie would succeed.

"I say that he will surely fail!"

"Maybe he can pass if he tries hard enough?"

"We have strict rules here. If he can't cause the water to stir within a certain time limit, then he is out."

"This is the holy land of the Holy Maiden Sanctuary after all..."

As Shen Lie put his hands into the pool, he saw that there were many young female protégés. "There are actually so many petite protégé sisters in this clan. I wish that I have the chance to join this clan now."

Many of the female protégés were all flushing with shyness as they looked coyly at Shen Lie while the male protégés were looking fierce at him!

The pool that Shen Lie had put his right hand into, was suddenly boiling and then the water was spurting like a fountain.

This shocked all the onlookers including Elder Li Hong for they had never seen anything like this before.

"This is..."

"I think he has amazing talent?"

"He is super talented?"

"He has the looks as well as the talents..."

"He can actually cause the pool to stir?"

Shen Lie laughed softly, "This looks like the beautiful fountain of a tender maiden."

Immediately, Li Hong and everyone knew instantly what Shen Lie was referring to but the way he had said it was too elegant and too gentle that they had no words to rebuke him angrily.

Elder Li Hong said weakly to him, "You are indeed a talented cultivator. However more cultivation trials await you in the future. You are now officially a protégé of the outer court protégé. I shall arrange for your accommodations and a senior protégé here will help you to take care of the rest."

Suddenly she smiled to Shen Lie, quite relieved that he had actually overcome the test to be an outer court protégé.

"Congrats for passing the cultivation test. So, do you have any other questions?"

Shen Lie smiled, "You see. I have actually come with Elder Hua Zixia. But now she has disappeared. How do I find her?"

Elder Li Hong answered him softly, "From now on, you should forget about Elder Hua Zixia. She is a gold core cultivator and moreover, she is also an elder of the inner court. The inner court has never accepted any male protégés. Also, soon she will be a direct protégé of our Saintess Sheng Feiyan. You will never have a chance to even talk to her, just like you will never have the chance to see our Saintess too. But this is normal and thousands of us have never seen the Saintess either."

Shen Lie was not discouraged and he was smiling pleasantly, "Alas, so that's the reason. Maybe if I work hard enough on my cultivation, I can still see her again."

Not wanting to discourage Shen Lie, Elder Li Hong smiled to him. "That is a good attitude. Work hard on your cultivation and serve the Holy Maiden Sanctuary well."

Shen Lie returned a half bow respectfully but he was already thinking of making Saintess Sheng Feiyan bending her knees to serve him instead.
