Chapter 233 [Bonus Chapter] Shocking Realizations

Name:The Black Necromancer Author:Nilo_A
Some minutes earlier...

While Leon was rounding up his fight against Ugar, the Beastkin team from the Gublin Empire had been watching. They watched Leon's fight from beginning to end, and were awed by the whole fight.

"So he held back when he fought me?" Kai held his chin in thought as the battle came to a conclusion. He had thought that Leon had used all he had during their fight, but it turned out that Leon still had many aces up his sleeve. The sudden switch in armor set had come as a surprise to them. Then with the sudden explosion in agility that they had noticed, it dawned on Kai that the armor set might have come with some perks.

Even then, with all of the surprises that Leon had shown off, none of them had been particularly shocking when compared to the moment that Leon showed off Michael's medallion. The Divinity that it had radiated had shaken them all to their cores, not only Leon.

"An Undead that is immune to Holy energy? Just how is that possible?" Joseph tried his best to hold in his curses and swears when he had seen Leon bask in the light given off by the medallion.

'The giant millipede that I fought was also strangely immune to Holy energy. I guess it was not just me...' Estella thought to herself. She had been in doubt when Nedra had withstood her Holy energy infused claw strikes, but now that she had seen Leon do this, she seemed to realize that it was not her weakness, but instead, a strength of the enemy.

Another thing that stumped them was when Leon started yelling up to the sky.

"...Has he gone mad?" Even Damian, who usually held a stoic expression was stumped and had to ask.

In the next moment, their jaws fell to the floor. A portal that led to the Core Room of the dungeon opened and Leon stepped through it.

"Of course, it was not our fate to beat him. He is the Envoy of a God!" Estella suddenly exclaimed, surprising the others with her words.

"A God's Envoy? Are you sure?" Joseph turned to her in surprise.

"Yes, I actually agree with her. There is no other way for him to keep on pulling out surprises like they are normal things. An Undead immune to Holy energy? Being able to beat myself and Lynx, then thrashing the floor boss... This is something only someone as exceptional as a God's Envoy can do." Kai eventually voiced his thoughts, bringing his family's bickering to a stop.

"This is so crazy... How can an Undead be immune to Holy energy?" Even though they had come to an agreement on Leon's identity as a God's Envoy, the whole matter was still surprising. It was because if Leon was a normal Envoy, then he should still not be immune to Holy energy. Instead, his affinity for Dark magic and Unholy energy should be flying through the roof!

The only explanation was that a God on the side of Order was the one who Leon represented! Which was an absurd claim in and of itself! Who would believe such rubbish?! How could a God on the side of Order make a being that was technically on the side of Chaos an Envoy?!

While the group was still trying to understand the situation, Leon emerged from the portal with a seven meter tall shadow behind him.

"He got it!" Kai's eyes sharped when he saw that. He already knew what it took to gain the acknowledgement of a dungeon. He could tell that Leon had done so, and while he was shocked for a few moments, he eventually realized something else.

"If he gains control over this dungeon, then that would mean that we will lose the Despair Dungeon!" Kai realized. His eyes hardened at that. As the heir to the throne of the Gublin Empire, he realized how much this could negatively affect the Gublin Empire in the years to come!

"Stop!" Kai's body blurred as he shot forward and appeared in front of Leon. His eyes were narrowed.

"Oh, it's you." Leon hummed. He had temporarily forgotten about them while he was engrossed in his new gains. He had stopped at the treasury of the dungeon before returning here, and he had been so happy with what he had seen that most other concerns had been pushed to the back of his mind.

"Yes, it is me." Kai nodded. "Did you acquire ownership of the dungeon?" He went straight to the point.

"Yes, I did." Leon did not hide anything.

"...I cannot let you leave here if that is so." Kai said resolutely. Although he knew that he could not beat Leon, what else could he do in this situation? He needed to stand firm this time. Even if Leon beat him up, then at the very least, no one could say he didn't try!

"Haha, I don't think you can beat me, but don't worry. I won't be making off with the Despair Dungeon yet." Leon chuckled and turned around, disregarding the Beastkin entirely. He turned to look at the body of the boss of the dungeon.

'It's about time.' He sighed and raised his hand. Black mana flowed out of his bones and seeped under the lizardman's scales, digging into his essence and drawing out his soul.

Kai took a step back as a thick wave of Unholy energy hit him in the face. This brought back his confusion regarding Leon's possession of Holy energy within his body, and the fact that he was an Envoy of a God.

'This news will totally shake father and the council. They will surely move to eliminate him.' Kai thought to himself. 'But they cannot move recklessly against someone who has the backing of a God...'

Kai was unsure of how things would play out from here, but he was sure that it would be a bumpy ride.
