Chapter 193 Confrontation In The Rocky Pass (2)

Name:The Black Necromancer Author:Nilo_A
Leon had since noticed the presence of the lifeforces inside the carriage a distance away. Seeing how the man attacking his summons had reacted clued him in to the fact that whoever was in the carriage was someone that needed protection, which made his earlier decision to send Seth to the carriage a good thing.

"Going somewhere?" Leon asked as he arrived at the location of the carriage. He floated in the air, thanks to his Gravity magic.

"Back off." Nasir narrowed his eyes and held his curved knives in a reverse grip. A black fire that Leon was easily able to identify as Black magic, lingered on the darkened blade.

"No. You are passing through my territory. State what you were doing, and why you took the initiative to attack my subordinates." Leon stated firmly.

"I only assumed they were Undead beings formed from the Unholy energy in the surroundings. Forgive me for offending you." Nasir did not want to aggravate the situation any further so he took the lower ground. If things came to a fight, then he was not sure if he could protect everyone. At best, he might be able to protect Lance, but even then, it would be tough.

"Well, even still. I need to know who you are before letting you pass through my territory. State who you are and your business here." Leon did not budge, but he did not want to strike first either. He could easily tell that the man was an A rank fighter, and he did not want to strike first even though that would give him an edge if they ended up coming to blows.

"We are just passing through, I do not think there is any need for us to divulge certain information." Nasir tried to reason with Leon, but Leon just remained silent, showing that he was not willing to let them play their way.

'I don't think he will budge at this rate. I did not want to resort to force, but it seems I have no choice.' Leon silently thought to himself. 'Attack!' He suddenly gave the order to attack to his summons, and they sprung into action!

Seth lunged forward, his large head barreling straight at the carriage, only to smash against a barrier of solidified air. The barrier began twisting on itself, sucking Seth's head into the grinder that that space had become.

Leon quickly cancelled the summon and summoned Seth again away from that area, while simultaneously activating his <Spell Weaver> skill to examine the composition of the mana that had manifested in that space.

From the top of Fenrir's back, Leon watched as his elite summons rushed forward to fight against Nasir. Aristodemus, Tyrant, Nero, and the others took up a vanguard position as they were the sturdier damage dealers. Kaladin, Grokus, the Priests, and other mages that were in Leon's service stayed around Fenrir as they cast a cacophony of spells.

In mere moments, the entire surrounding area had been thrown into disarray. Nasir's body flickered around the carriage as he blocked the attacks that were raining down on him and the carriage. While he was not being overpowered, he was also unable to find a good opening to launch a counter attack. If he did so recklessly, then one attack was sure to land on the carriage and decimate it, along with the people that were taking cover within it.

"Are you ready to spill the beans? You are suspicious as hell, but I did not want to go overboard. Now, you have forced my hand!" Leon announced over the sounds of battle. He had finished examining the composition of the earlier skill, and had detected multiple distinct mana signatures.

First was Wind mana, of course. The wind mana was the foundation of the barrier spell. Next was shadow mana. Leon did not know what it did, but it seemed to act as a sort of thread that held the components of the spell together. The last piece of the spell was space mana. It was what twisted the space that was captured by the wind mana.

When Leon had finished examining the spell, he was shocked at the intricacy of the spell. It was a multifaceted spell. Its original form was merely meant to block and create a wind barrier, but then Shadow mana was added to give it a more malleable nature, which allowed it to be easy to manipulate into a sort of black hole-like spell that was dangerous, but not as devastating as a proper black hole spell!

'What genius! No wonder he is an A rank mage. Such prowess is something only a person with such accumulation can do!' Leon could not help complimenting Nasir's genius. But he did not let himself get carried away. Instead, he suddenly had a flash of genius of his own, and he began constructing his own multifaceted spell.

Raising his hand, a small, black flare sparked to life. Gradually, that small spark began to grow and expand, until a giant ball of black and purple flame was hovering over Leon.

Nasir had watched this happen, but any moves he tried to make on Leon were interrupted. He could have teleported to Leon's side, but that would mean leaving the carriage unprotected, and that was unacceptable!

'Dammit, what kind of monster did I run into?!' Nasir cursed his luck. He quickly began to cook up a teleportation spell that could transport many people at a time. He could use an instant teleportation spell, but that would leave too many traces, and he did not want to leave any trails for Leon to use and trace him, so he decided to take more time in order to leave less traces.

Just as his spell was nearing completion, Leon's own spell had finished its preparations! Leon flicked his wrist and launched the giant fireball forward, and Nasir's eyes widened. A purple light flashed over his body, and he felt himself get physically weaker, while his mind became much slower.

'What?!' Nasir froze just as the giant fireball reached him.

BOOM!!!
