Chapter 157 Overcomer!

Name:The Black Necromancer Author:Nilo_A
[Your Title: <Supreme>, has taken effect! +150 Strength.]

Leon felt his body catch fire, and his mind went blank. The pain was so intense that he could not think, but it also had a sickening sweetness that just begged him to get addicted to the feeling.

The effects of his Title, <Supreme>, was to randomly increased one of his stats. Right now, in the middle of the battle, his Strength stat had shot up madly, reaching an absurd level. Last he checked, his Strength stat was around 210, but with this addition, it meant that he had close to 400 points in Strength. It was insane!

But after a few moments, Leon began to feel his body burn up. The strain it had to endure to host that amount of power at its level was too much. He could not keep this up for a long time. He needed to end this quickly.

After the boss' declaration, he suddenly leapt forward, his staff brewing with mighty magic and might, but Leon did not back down. His spear tore through the air at an incredible speed, and they clashed midway with a mighty force.

BOOM!

The earth beneath them broke, and a wind blast was generated that blew everything around them away. For ten meters all around them, the ground was dug up by the force of their clash, making a deep, wide crater. The two figures blurred and crashed against each other time and time again within that crater.

After several clashes, the boss realized that its strength was on the weaker side. So it chose to fall back and use magic to pressure Leon, but realized that no matter how it moved, Leon stuck like glue.

"Worm! Get off me!" It growled in anger, but its cried were unheard.

Crack!

A splintering sound was heard, and its eyes opened wide. For a moment, it thought that its bones were the ones breaking, but then it thought that it was Leon. Because surely, his sudden burst of strength must have come from somewhere. And indeed, the origin of the cracking sound was from Leon.

The bones of his forearm were under the most stress as it was through those bones that he held his weapon and clashed against the boss. As he was considering what to do, a notification that he could not ignore popped up.

[Your Title: <Supreme>, has taken effect! +100 Intelligence.]

A sudden surge took place in his mind. Unlike before, where the increase in his Intelligence was more tame and slower, the sudden boost of one hundred points was mind blowing! Leon felt as if he had been hit in the head with a boulder. But somehow, the feeling was also cool and refreshing. Somehow, the way he perceived the world changed, and he made a realization.

'Is this how A rank being perceive the world?'

It was like an epiphany, but one that Leon could not immerse himself in. He still had a battle to fight and win.

Just like how the boss thought, he quickly distanced himself. The boss, thinking it could overpower him with magic was quickly in for a shock as a hail of magical attacks bombarded it. A block of ice slammed into the side of its head, while a pillar of black fire rose up from the ground was consumed its body.

"ARGH!!!" A loud roar filled with pain and despair was heard, but it was quickly drowned out by the roar of the black fire pillar.

Whoosh!

The pillar vanished, and the air immediately turned cold. Before the boss could recover, it was frozen in a block of ice, with a burning ball of black fire popping up right in front of it. Eyes wide, before it could react, a massive explosion shook the earth, creating an even deeper crater.

Black fire still burned around Leon's body. Five flaming orbs of black and purple fire hovered behind Leon, and with his look, he resembled a powerful, Undead King. This image was burnt into the brains of all who paid attention to this fight.

"I told you. You will pay." Leon said coldly and pointed his right hand forward. The five orbs of fire behind him suddenly shot forward, slamming into the chest of the boss.

BOOOOOM!

An explosion of insane proportions shook the boss room, but instead of spreading outwards, it reached a certain point before turning in on itself and shrinking down, dealing much more damage onto the boss.

Leon easily manipulated a gravity barrier that kept the flames turned inwards. A dozen seconds ticked by before the flames began to show any semblance of dying out, but even still, they were persistent.

After an entire minute had passed, the flames finally went out. The broken body of the fiftieth floor boss was revealed for all to see. Its limbs had been wholly incinerated, with its torso only having been left intact thanks to the scraps of armor that remained around it.

"Y... You worm... How...?" Hoarse whispers reached Leon's ears, and he realized that the boss was trying to speak. Its life force was so weak that it could die any moment.

Slowly, Leon floated downwards into the crater and landed beside the boss' broken body. He looked down at it coldly and squatted, taking hold of its jaw.

"How many times must I say it before you understand? I had told you that you will pay for hurting my companion, and now, you will." Leon pulled away finally. The weary aura of the boss finally seemed to show understanding. It had accepted its fate.

Crunch!

Leon's hand crushed the weakened skull of the boss, extinguishing the flames of life that had been breathed into it.
