Chapter 789 - 789 For Her Own Good

789 For Her Own Good

Cai Cheng smirked. He couldn’t be blamed for betraying his own master. Besides, hasn’t his master proven just how biased he was?

If he didn’t help himself, then who would help him?

“You! You!”

Elder Cai pointed his shaky finger at him. His entire body was trembling, and he couldn’t find it in himself to say another word.

However, before he could act upon his anger, he collapsed onto the floor.

“Elder Cai!” Everyone stood up.

“Quickly! Call the doctor.”

They immediately surrounded him.

Now that elder Cai was getting older, it was obvious that his health was starting to affect him. With all the stress he was facing now with the betrayal of his nephew, it must’ve been extremely overwhelming for him.

Only when they sent him away did they all settle down.

“This is bad!” Elder Xu immediately spouted out. “Give Tangtang a call! Cai Cheng was present at the apprenticeship banquet, was he not? He must’ve leaked something about them as well.”

The other elders paled.

“Do you have their phone number?”

“Yes! Make a call.”

“What should we do? If something were to happen to her, if he had leaked their information, are they strong enough to stop them?”

Liu Feng remembered of the traitor behind him and immediately held him by the collar. “Tell me,” he snarled. “Did you leak her information out?”

Yao Tang was the newest member of the Association, so naturally, she was everyone’s junior.

Although the Inner Sect Elders were different people and had different disciples, they were all close to each other. After all, they were only a few, so it was natural for all of them to stick together.

Yao Tang’s Masters were also very powerful, being Elder Wang, Elder Li, and Elder Xu. That made her extremely well-loved by everyone.

It was only natural that everyone addressed her as their junior.

One thought of the young woman was enough to send him right over the edge of panic. It wasn’t easy for his teacher to take in another disciple, so he had always held her in high regard. Was the mole going to sell her out?

He gritted his teeth in anger.

Cai Cheng lowered his head as the tips of his mouth rose.

No one could see his expression.

Upon hearing about their junior sister, Deng Hai froze. He had been looking forward to meeting and speaking with her, and now that there was a chance that he was missing. He immediately raced toward the traitor.

PA!

Deng hai slapped him right across the face. “Since you refuse to say anything,” he snapped, his face cold. “Why don’t I tie up your good-for-nothing brother? Let’s see if he has a chance against us, huh? After all, he’s not innocent in all of this.”

He made his way out of the room.

However, before he could, Cai Cheng immediately wailed in panic. While the rumors were true that his younger brother was involved in nefarious, illegal doings in the Capital, he had always protected him. If he were to be dragged to the police station, then how could he survive?

“Wait!”

Cai Cheng tried to tug at his rope in panic, however, it was to no avail. His wrists stayed stuck to his back. “I’ll tell you everything you need to know. Just, please...please don’t hurt him.”

Deng Hai stopped walking.

“You’ve all seen how talented Junior Sister was, right? The talent she has shown far exceeded all of us put together,” Cai Cheng slowly said.

“You even have the right to call her your Junior?” They sneered.

“I’m...”

Cai Cheng scowled. “I’m doing this for her own good! It would be a waste of her talent if she’s placed in the Inner Pavilion! Don’t you think it’s better for her to flourish at a Pavilion that’d actually know how to cultivate her talents? This is what’s best for her!”

“In here, you have to rely on yourself to improve, and we all know how long it takes! I’m doing this for her own good.”

There was a sense of pride in his words as if he really was thinking for Yao Tang this whole time.

If they didn’t know any better, they would’ve thought that he was doing something good.
