511 “Did you smoke?”

Thinking of how he was almost arrested Zi Han couldn’t help but keep his mouth shut. Just as he sulkily passed by his father his arm was suddenly caught at the elbow and he was pulled back.

“Did you smoke?” asked Yeoh Jun.

Zi Han, “...”

How could he have forgotten how his father felt about his mother smoking? It was obvious this would also spill over to him.

“I uh... Uncle Yi gave it to me and I couldn’t refuse,” he said directly throwing the pot over the Marshal’s head before running out.

Yi Zhen, “...”

Well, this alliance was very short lived. The brat threw him right under the bus at the first chance he got.

“Your majesty... I,” he said only for Yeoh Jun to raise his hand slightly stopping him from talking.

“You don’t have to be formal. I am speaking to you in the capacity of a colleague,” he said and Yi Zhen couldn’t help but nod his head.

.....

“Yeoh Jun,” he said before a hard punch struck his face. Taken by surprise Yi Zhen staggered backward as he saw black spots.

Yeoh Jun threw another hard punch and this time the former Marshal couldn’t sturdy his feet. He fell to the ground with blood at the corner of his lips.

He shook his head having realised he was seeing doubles. Yeoh Jun crouched down before him and tilted his head slightly to get a good look at the man’s face.

“I don’t think I need to explain why I hit you, right?” he said and Yi Zhen nodded his head while wiping the corner of his lips with his fingertips.

“I saved your life and one thing that I asked you to do you failed to do it. Instead, you caused trouble for my son while I was gone. You surely are ungrateful,” said Yeoh Jun his voice carrying with it a feeling of disappointment.

“Let me ask you this... where do your loyalties lie? Is it with me or the rats of the federation?” he asked and Yi Zhen’s body trembled slightly suppressed by the overbearing aura emanating from Yeoh Jun’s body.

Yeoh Jun grabbed his arm and pulled up the sleeve revealing the emperor’s crest burnt on his arm. Yi Zhen wanted to resist but he was thoroughly suppressed revealing the one thing that haunted him throughout the years.

“Your motto underneath your crest is to serve the people’s interests but you know fairly well that your father’s father gave up that right and vowed to serve us. Your allegiance is not with the corrupt prime ministers but with us so why would you treat our son like that?”

“Yeoh... I,” said the Marshal almost trembling like a leaf.

“We are now speaking to you in the capacity of the emperor,” he said and Yi Zhen didn’t dare raise his head to look into those eyes that turned a fiery red.

He lowered his head having a hard time breathing. What was he supposed to say? How was he supposed to explain?

Yeoh Jun didn’t want him to answer. He directly exposed him. “You wanted to restore your family’s honour and not associate with the Bloodgarde. Do not forget that it was the Bloodgarde that kept your grandfather from losing everything. You can’t restore honour that was lost more than half a century ago,” said Yeoh Jun before he slowly got up.

Just as he took a step to leave, Yi Zhen hurriedly kowtowed before him and tremblingly said, “Your majesty... for, forgive me. It wasn’t that I was trying to regain lost honour but... I was protecting both th-,” before he was directly cut off.

“We don’t want to hear it. For the sake of our children’s relationship we will let it go but... if you dare lay a finger on him we will kill you. Count it a blessing that he chose to love your son,” said Yeoh Jun before sitting down on the couch while pressing his temples as his eyes regained clarity.

Yi Zhen hurriedly banged his head on the floor a couple of times while thanking him for his benevolence. The stubborn and hard-hearted man who always thought he was right was now wilted like spinach begging for forgiveness.

After Yeoh Jun let him get up, Yi Zhen didn’t disappoint. He hurriedly poured out some whiskey for the man and brought it to him.

Yeoh Jun accepted it and while swirling the crystal glass he said, “I want all the charges against Han Han dropped... I also want to speak to all your generals. I gave the prime ministers a chance to rule but in the end, they not only plundered the wealth of the people, but they also designed against my family... and me. What they wanted was the space jump technology then I will make them experience it. I will make them experience a living hell,” he said his eyes flashing like there were going to go back to that state from earlier.

Hearing this Yi Zhen couldn’t help but reduce his sense of existence. He had a feeling that the prime ministers were going to be thrown to the Republic alongside their families.

“Yes, your majesty,” he said and walked over to his desk requesting an urgent meeting with all the generals. They were now loyal to his son but they would still respond to his call.

Soon seven generals appeared one by one in the video transmission and from the looks on their faces they were a little anxious. These kinds of meetings rarely happened unless there was an emergency. The last urgent call they answered to was when Yi Chen went missing thus they couldn’t help but be anxious.

As soon as they had an opportunity to speak questions concerning Yi Chen’s health and whether an explanation had been given by the Bloodgarde began to fly around.

“The Marshal is fine. He is still undergoing treatment. As for the Bloodgarde... it wasn’t-,” he said only for a person that was out of frame just now to turn the floating screen in his direction.

“The Bloodgarde had nothing to do with the disappearance of your Marshal. I would very much appreciate it if you keep my son’s and wife’s names out of it.”

Everyone, “...”
