504 Monkey see monkey do

Zi Han’s rushing steps paused a few feet from the piece of equipment that was emitting light pulsing bolts into Yi Chen’s temples. Despite the gentle sizzling sounds of the bolts Yi Chen seemed very peaceful. He seemed so tranquil like he was floating on a lake water surface with peach blossom flowers gently falling from the trees around him.

Zi Han had to stop and catch his heart in his chest before taking another step forward. His eyes were teary but shining as bright as the sun. He couldn’t see anyone but Yi Chen in this moment. His lips trembled slightly as he unzipped his jacket and the little Nimsel popped its head out of it.

“Look it’s your dad,” he said his lips arched into a smile.

“Weeee,” was the gentle squeak coming from its lips but Zi Han leaned his head down and pressed his index finger on his lips before saying,

“Shh... we aren’t supposed to be here,” he whispered before taking a step forward.

As though it understood him it covered its mouth with its tiny hand but it still couldn’t contain its excitement.

???????????????? ???????????????????????????? ???????????????????????? ???????????????????? ???????? ????????????????????-????????????.????????????

Zi Han pressed his palm on the machine and whispered softly, “Does it hurt?” but the person in the machine didn’t answer. The little Nimsel crawled out of his jacket and climbed up Zi Han’s arm before walking over to the glass and imitating its papa by pressing its hand on the glass too.

Zi Han let out a stifled chuckle before putting the little guy in his other hand. He pulled out a small thin blanket and spread it out on the floor.

He sat crossed legged on the ground and placed the little Nimsel were his legs crossed. He took out a tiny carved incense pot he took from his grandfather and pulled out an incense stick. The little nim nim looked at him as though asking, ‘what are you doing?’

.....

Zi Han smiled slightly and whispered, “We are going to pray for your dad so he gets better soon, okay? The smell won’t leak out because look I brought an air revitaliser. It sucks out all the incense smell. No one will know.”

Zi Han took out a lighter and with a click a bright golden red flame appeared. He lowered the incense stick and lit it before a soft wisp of smoke gently floated in the air.

The cute air revitaliser shaped like a dumpling with a smiley face lit up a blue light taking care of the smell of incense.

The little nim nim poked the little dumpling with great curiosity but soon its attention was attracted by what Zi Han was doing.

He whispered something while pressing the incense stick between his palms. He had learnt this from his mother but had never tried it himself thus he decided to do this today.

He wanted to put in his request to whichever deity was listening. He was praying for his lover’s health and their future happiness. Recalling the feeling when he thought he had lost Yi Chen he couldn’t help but want to try anything so he would never have to go through that ever again. That was too painful.

Zi Han stuck the incense stick through the holes of the small carved incense pot. The little nim nim looked at him seeming like it wanted to do it too.

Zi Han glanced down at it and said, “You might burn your beautiful fur. How will I explain that to your dad later?”

“Wee,” it squeaked sounding aggrieved. Zi Han who could say no sighed softly before taking out another incense stick and breaking it in half so it wouldn’t be too heavy for the little guy.

He lit it and placed it in its hand before saying, “There... you can stick it in that.”

The little nim nim imitated him pressing the incense stick in between its palms and closing its eyes soundlessly.

Zi Han, “...”

Was this the legendary monkey see monkey do moment? He couldn’t help but chuckle lightly as he watched it stand up and stick in the incense stick in the small carved incense pot right next to his.

It came back and sat down again. Zi Han took out a fruit and gave it to the little guy. While it was eating happily Zi Han raised his head to look at Yi Chen.

His lips showed a slight smile as his eyes stared at Yi Chen unrestrainedly. His gaze couldn’t help but trail down from his phoenix eyes that were trembling slightly to his soft lips that were slightly parted.

His adam’s apple rolled subconsciously as an image of them kissing passionately while he climaxed flashed in his mind. After that memory flashed in his mind he couldn’t think of anything else.

His cheeks turned red with the tips of his ears burning. His throat suddenly felt dry as the feeling of shame wailed up in his heart. Was he that thirsty?

The answer was simple. Yes, most definitely yes. He was very thirsty but this wasn’t the time to think about that.

Zi Han patted his cheeks a couple of times before taking out a bottle of ice water and gulping it down. This man was surely going to be the death of him. Now he looked like an insatiable pervert lusting over a patient.

While he was gulping down the ice water a crew member in the tech security department who had just returned from taking a late lunch walked in and saw a person sitting in the inner part of the medical bay.

As to why he had the live feed of Yi Chen floating on his work console, it was because he was one of the Marshal’s brainless fans.

He normally watched from afar but when he heard the Marshal had returned he couldn’t help but ask to be granted this shift so he can watch Yi Chen all he wanted.

Who would have thought he would catch a rat stealing cheese? He seemed to recognise this face. His breathing lurched as he tapped the emergency button on the screen. He could already see himself receiving an award for his meritorious deeds.
