265 Who is jealous?

Zi Han who had been caught walking right back felt speechless. His entire body froze in place his cheeks heating up like he had directly chewed on raw chilies.

“I...,” he said before pausing and rethinking his response. He was about to deny leaving him behind but he had indeed walked away so.

He decided to tell him that he was going back to get him but the words that actually came out of his mouth were, “She was scared and... she seemed reluctant to stay alone. She much preferred yo-.”

Zi Han couldn’t even finish his words because Yi Chen pressed his index finger to his lips stopping him from speaking.

Zi Han couldn’t see Yi Chen’s face clearly in the dark but that only heightened his senses. This meant his entire body was more sensitive to Yi Chen’s movements and the tension around them.

As Yi Chen’s finger grazed down his lips and gently grasped his chin, Zi Han closed his eyes. Yi Chen moved a step closer sending shivers all over Zi Han’s skin. Yi Chen raised Zi Han’s chin and asked, “Do you like me?”

Zi Han had no idea where this conversation was headed but he was bewitched by that deep husky voice and had fallen under its spell. His brow twitched slightly but he found himself answering the question, “Of course, I do.”

???????????????? ???????????????????????????? ???????????????????????? ???????????????????? ???????? ????????????????????-????????????.????????????

Yi Chen’s eyes shone like they had stars in them as a heart-warming smile appeared on his face. He lowered his head until their lips were almost touching before saying, “Aren’t you scared too?”

Zi Han who was afraid of the dark because his imagination would go on a rampage envisioning nonexistent ghosts bit his lower lip and refused to answer the question.

.....

He might not have said anything in response but Yi Chen already knew the answer to that question. “Then I will follow you. I will always follow you,” he said with his burning gaze lingering on those lips that he could barely see. He lightly moved his fingers brushing against Zi Han’s cheek with his thumb resting on his lover’s lips.

“You don’t have to be jealous, baby. You are the only one in my eyes,” he said only for Zi Han to move back separating from him.

“Who is jealous?... Stop messing around and let’s go,” said Zi Han his tone defensive. Zi Han turned around and took the lead leaving behind Yi Chen who was grinning like a fool.

Zi Han seemed to sense his smugness so he said, “... And stop smiling. I can feel that smirk on your face from here.”

Yi Chen, “...”

The two continued to walk and the deeper they traversed in the underground tunnels the colder it became.

Meanwhile, the girl that had been ditched sat there looking aggrieved. Wasn’t the military meant to protect people? Why didn’t the handsome brother stay with her? Well, that’s because the handsome brother had a wife, a very jealous wife at that.

After walking for a good ten minutes, the space in the tunnels became tighter and tighter but it also meant they were getting closer and closer.

The number of these deadly phantoms seemed to increase and because they didn’t feel threatened they weren’t invisible. This also meant that this pair of lovebirds had to become quieter so as not to alert these vicious creatures.

With their backs pressed on the tunnel wall, Yi Chen and Zi Han watched as a group of deadly phantoms drag two people out of a tight crevice.

The two looked at each other for a second and Zi Han signed that he was going to check inside. Yi Chen was reluctant to leave Zi Han alone but he knew he had to follow the Caspers dragging people away and find out where they were taking them. He pursed his lips with slight reluctance before he signed for him to be careful.

Zi Han nodded his head and Yi Chen engaged stealth mode on his gear before vanishing on the spot. Zi Han exhaled slightly before going into stealth mode as well as peeking through the entrance. His brow furrowed when he found men, women, and children of whatever was left of Seon packed like sardines in what turned out to be a big cave.

Most of these people looked like they had been starved for days and hadn’t had a drop of water in ages. They were zombie-like in appearance having lost all hope that they would be rescued.

An elderly priest was one of the first to notice Zi Han and thus he began to make muffled sounds trying to get his attention. Their arms and feet were bound together with their mouths gagged thus the muffled cries.

One after the other they all began to cry out for help. ZI Han had to put an end to it thus he gestured with his arms for everyone to stay silent. He wanted to free them all but he found that he was outnumbered. Once he releases some of them they might run off and make noise resulting in a failed rescue attempt.

As though to prove him right some people wouldn’t stop mumbling with some mothers raising their children begging for him to save them. No matter how much he gestured for them to keep silent they wouldn’t listen. Annoyed Zi Han drew his handgun which was unlike how a military officer should behave.

As expected they all quieted down but it was already too late. Their cries had attracted one of the deadly phantoms. Zi Han reactivated stealth mode and hid behind a boulder.

Seeing the only person who could save them vanish there was a touch of despair in their eyes but they didn’t dare make a sound. Zi Han watched on as the creature silently patrolled the cave while terrorizing the people sitting on the cold floor.

After five minutes of screwing with the captives it left and the tense atmosphere relaxed a little. These people had just witnessed others get dragged out by these creatures and they honestly thought that it would take one of them.

Zi Han wrote a message to Yi Chen before sending a signal requesting backup at his current location.

Yi Chen who was carefully following behind those creatures saw a message flash on his screen and opened it to take a look.
