223 My sweet baby. Where does it hurt? Let me see.

While Yi Chen was discovering hidden truths, Zi Han was on his way home when his mother intercepted him. She wanted to have a serious conversation with him in the absence of his grandfather.

That’s because knowing her father he would probably freak out and go knocking on each of the suspects’ doors. His motto when it came to his family has always been to shoot on sight and ask questions later.

She didn’t want to scare the prey and have them retreat into their holes. If that happens then they won’t be easy to catch later.

It was for this reason that she sent secretary K to pick him up instead of Old Lu. Because what they were about to discuss was extremely sensitive she directly flew him to the Han warship with its guns still pointed at Capital Star. Zi Han who hadn’t seen the warship named after him before had his face glued to the cruiser’s window with sparkly eyes making secretary K chuckle in amusement.

While Zi Han was pressing his palms on the window naming each weapon technology in the warship he felt a white flash pointed in his direction thus he looked back taking a glance.

Secretary K didn’t shy away. He openly said, “I think ma’am would appreciate it seeing your surprised face. Wait until you find out the name of the warship.”

Zi Han narrowed his eyes a little curious but no matter how much he asked secretary K wouldn’t disclose this great masterpiece’s name.

The hatch of the warship opened and the cruiser slipped in and landed in the hanger. As soon as the doors of the cruiser opened Zi Xingxi ran in and she didn’t even give him enough time to unbuckle his seat as she embraced him tightly.

“Oh,” he muttered as she hugged him so tight that he couldn’t breathe.

.....

“My sweet baby. Where does it hurt? Let me see. Show mommy where it hurts,” she said inspecting him closely like he was an antique vase before an auction.

“Mom, I am really fine,” be expressed but Zi Xingxi didn’t take his word for it. She dragged Zi Han to the medical bay and had them test everything. She only stopped nagging when she was certain he was in perfect health.

Zi Han wanted to check the warship but he also knew his mother had some important things to discuss with him thus he could only put his desire to explore aside.

“Come sit,” said Zi Xingxi and Zi Han slumped onto the couch exhaling deeply like he had just offloaded a huge burden.

Zi Xingxi sat with one of her legs on the couch while facing him. She pushed back his hair that was long overdue for a haircut while asking, “What happened on Dark Star? I found out you were in distress so I rushed over but when I got there I couldn’t find you. Even your location vanished and I couldn’t track your whereabouts.”

Zi Han licked his lips with slight anxiety. He wasn’t certain how to go about telling her what he found.

Other things he could hide like how he had agreed to be Yi Chen’s boyfriend but things about his father he couldn’t hide. He placed his hand over his mother’s and said, “Ma, promise me you won’t freak out.”

Zi Xingxi’s eyebrows twitched as she tilted her head slightly in confusion. “Why?” she asked before moving closer and taking a guess, “Don’t tell me you and Yi Chen.....”

Zi Han, “???”

How the fuck could she guess that accurately? Of course, that wasn’t what he wanted to talk about but how on earth did she guess that?

Zi Han shook his head vigorously and before Zi Xingxi could interrogate him Zi Han said, “It’s about dad.”

Zi Xingxi who was already thinking of a thousand ways to make Yi Chen disappear calmed down but when she heard that it was about her husband she became was on the edge again.

“Go, ahem go on. I won’t freak out,” she said but her body had already visibly stiffened. Zi Han exhaled deeply with his eyes closed as though conditioning himself to say what he needed to say.

She didn’t rush him despite being extremely anxious. She appeared calm on the surface but she was panicking on the inside.

Zi Han sighed again raking his fingers through his hair before saying, “The reason you couldn’t find me was because I..... I stumbled upon a highly secure villa at Dark Star. To be more precise after I fought with that man I collapsed and when I woke up I was in an unkempt garden beside a rundown villa.”

After saying that he looked at his mother but she didn’t react. It was as though she was simply waiting for him to finish speaking.

“When I woke up I was drawn into a mental scape and.... I spoke to my father.”

After Zi Han said this Zi Xingxi’s eyes rippled with emotions as she grasped both his arms and pulled him close. “You saw him?” she asked in a brittle voice.

The two wordlessly stared at each other for a while with one waiting patiently for the other to answer. Zi Han pursed his lips and he was about to speak when the door opened and Lynn Feng walked in with two cups of iced tea for Zi Han and iced coffee for Zi Xingxi but the timing was extremely bad.

“Here you go-,” she said only for Zi Xingxi to yell,

“GET OUT!!”

???????????????? ???????????????????????????? ???????????????????????? ???????????????????? ???????? ????????????????????-????????????.????????????

Zi Han, !!!

Lynn Feng, !!!

When did Zi Xingxi ever talk to her like that? Luckily, Lynn Feng wasn’t someone who took things personally. She immediately turned around and vowed to use this to get a bonus from Zi Xingxi later.

As soon as she exited the captain’s cabin secretary K asked, “What? Did you put too much sugar in her iced coffee?”

Lynn Feng placed the cup of iced tea in Secretary K’s hand and patted his cheek while saying, “I am not a moron like you. She is in a very bad mood that’s all.”

After saying this Lynn Feng drank the cup of iced coffee through the straw. Zi Xingxi was the one who had told her to bring the beverages over but it seemed whatever Zi Han said in there must have rattled her.

Secretary K’s mouth shrugged before he glanced at the iced tea. Not willing to waste food he drank it as well.

Meanwhile, Zi Han explained in detail what went down in that villa. He also expressed that he didn’t see his father’s true appearance but that of a humanoid creature.

Zi Xingxi got up and paced up and down her expression concerned. “Ma,” called out Zi Han but Zi Xingxi didn’t stop pacing.

“I need to go there.... let’s go now so you can show mom, okay? I want to see,” she said and Zi Han agreed. He was exhausted and had gone through the same trip already today but for his mother, he would do anything.
